Family picnic at Bill and Brenda’s, 26 there. A nice time despite showers. Patty and kids went with us. Jim left for MAZE program at Portaferry for week. Administrative Council meeting tomorrow about CEC. Jill came home with us.

Trustees meeting. They signed agreement with [Verg. New and (?)] Hopkins Gallery for $26,750. Eleanor got here at noon. She, Jill and I went to Kessel’s for cheese curd. We stopped at Gouverneur. I was sick on way home. Felt better in evening. Eleanor here all night.

Finance Committee Meeting at parsonage. Jill and I went. Decided to have public supper. Eleanor left after breakfast. Had to pick up Tammy in city. Both work today. Marty over in PM. Rev. Salisbury had her first great grandson last night in Pulaski.

Warmer and nice in 80’s. Jill and I made rolls. Cathy Paro taught her to crochet. Also Darcy and Joey. Rained in evening. Patty called. She will be out Friday for Jill.

Rainy and cloudy. Foggy in morning. We went for groceries. Rained hard all PM and evening.

Patty and kids here for Jill. Jolie stayed. Merrill did wiring at Randy’s. Sunny today.

Randy and Elaine’s (Horton) 5th anniversary. Beautiful summer day. We took Jolie down to Brancatella’s. Tina came up here to spend night. Brought pizza. Elmer, Melba, Lynette and Leon here. Leon at Fort Drum for Reserve training.

We went to church. Jolie and Tina B went with us, 31 out. I gave finance report. Rev. Bea’s daughter sang. Just great. Jim’s came out with passenger bus. Tina went home about 4 PM. Kids went swimming at Belile’s pool in PM.

A great summer day. I washed clothes. Merrill ran cleaner upstairs and down. Didn’t get any check from milk plant. Hal and Kim Hall have baby girl, Megan Rae.

Sent fire insurance, $169.00. Defrosted freezer. Hot and muggy. Jim joined Air force 22 years ago today.

Thunder storms last night. Hot and muggy. We froze 17 packages of sweet corn. Hospital called about bill, $13.13 that Blue Cross is to pay.

Merrill mowed lawns. Look nice, really green. I baked cookies and angel food cake. Made chocolate butterscotch toppings. June and Susan here in PM. Stormed terrible in PM. Marty here. We went for groceries. Jim, Patty, and kids went to Waterfun Village.

Cooler but nice. Merrill went to Mills for oil and chain saw. Ordered peas at Agway, $19.96 this year. Ruth Schell called. Merrill cut wood in PM

Great day. Washed. Merrill fixed roofs with cement. He cut wood. I made jam and birthday cake. Got school tax notice, $352.63, down $2.50.

Jim’s 41st birthday. We went to their place for picnic dinner. Jean and Tracy there also. A real nice time together. Rained about all PM. We went to church, 38 out.

Labor Day. Watched Jerry Lewis Telethon all day. All went over last year. Rainy and cold all day. Merrill cut some wood. Jim’s saw wouldn’t work.

Nice day. Cool. Merrill went up to Joe’s. He will fix car hose Thursday. Merrill cut wood.

Clinic: Blood pressure 162/102. Merrill’s is 126/75. Aunt Maude went also. Darcy was over to show me her new clothes. Today is Gary Belile’s 47th birthday. Linda is 35. Merrill cut wood all day. School started today.

UMW at Jane’s, 21 out. June R here. She called Gouverneur sale barn. Down to 38° today. Merrill went to Mills for spark plugs. Joe got Dodge going. Housing was cracked.

Church back at 11:15 with 35 out. Merrill released balloons. We went over to Lila and Jim’s. Roy left for home at 3:30 PM. Sunny and warm. We saw Larry’s 2 baby colts. They are so cute.

Raining. Lazy day. Merrill went over town for milk. Made sloppy Joe’s for supper.

Reception for District Superintendent, Alison Wood in evening. Meeting on church repair, to see about heating and storm windows. 12 out. We voted in primaries. They announced expansion of Fort Drum today for 10th Infantry with 6500 soldiers. Helicopter division to come later.

Rebekah’s, 8 out for first meeting. I washed clothes. Merrill cut wood. June R here in evening. Called Audrey. She still isn’t feeling good.

Mary Pitkin died 3 years ago today. We went to church, 53 out. Jim, Patty and kids here for supper. Raining off and on all day. Very cold last night. Some frost.

UMW Black River District meeting at First Church in city. I didn’t go. We went for groceries. Real warm, 78°. Had tire fixed on Buick. There was a nail in it. Trustee meeting at church. Lasted until 10:30. Talked about heating, insulation etc. Frank here with fuel oil for first this fall.

Agway food here. Went for peas, $19.96 this year. Beautiful day. We went with Clarence and Ruth to their camp at Lake Bonapart. Trees are starting to turn up that way. Nice trip.

Another great day. Merrill helped with paper drive. Got home about 11:15. Patty called in morning. Invited us down there tomorrow. I washed clothes. Got letter from Vern’s.

We went to Sunday School and church. Had Sunday School in parsonage, 4 there. We went to Jim’s after church. Had lasagna. Patty took her mother to emergency room but they couldn’t find anything wrong.

Rev. Salisbury at Pastor’s School. There was a two truck accident by school in AM. Gas and glass trucks collided. Sunny and hot. 80’s.

I got nightgowns and blue sneakers. We went to city. Take car out Tuesday to have heater line checked. Cloudy out and warm, 75°

Rebekah’s election of officers. Vicky Glenn and Leah Simonds NG and VG. Had furnace fire in evening. We canned 7 quarts of carrots. Nice day but cloudy. Only up to 35°

Paid School tax, $352.63. Went to bank and for groceries. Washed clothes. Beautiful day but cool.

Les Scrimminger and Martin Rude’s auctions. We canned 7 quarts beets. Made apple and cherry pies for freezer.

We went to Sunday School and church, 51 there. Rev. Bea taught our class. A nice sunny day. In the 60’s. Jim’s here for supper. They have 1977 Chevrolet sedan now. I gave Jennifer Drake a cactus plant. She and Kevin came for it.

Cloudy and rainy. Made beet pickles. Canned 7 pints and also canned 4 quarts carrots. Found Joel’s alarm watch behind kitchen stove. Merrill mowed lawns. PPR meeting at 7:30, 7 out to it. Trustee’s meeting at 8.

Car to garage at 1 PM for heater. Merrill stopped at Mercy Hoospital to see Carl Taylor. Merrill got hair cut. Ruth Schell, 76 died.

Uncle Len here for day from Art’s. They brought him up and we took him back to Art’s in evening. Nice visit. We went over to Aunt Maude’s. Ruth Schell, 76 died last night. Fell out of bed at the hospital. Thunder storms off and on today.

Rebekah’s Assembly at Philadelphia, 124 present. UMW at parsonage, 8 out. Vickie there with Amway literature. Got groceries in PM. Mary L Hall here with eggs for Schell’s. We took UMW food to Schell’s. We went to funeral home for Ruth. Got letter from Melba.
