Merrill mowed our lawns. Chain broke in mower. He went to Philadelphia and to Mills.

Darcy’s 16th birthday. Got invited to Bonnie Haggerty and Walter Cooper’s wedding August 16. Merrill worked at church.

Cold. Rained during night. We went for groceries. We watched 100th anniversary of Statue of Liberty celebration all evening. Just great.

We watched TV all AM. Sure great. Frieda here. Rained in evening. A lazy 4th of July here.

Warmer. Merrill worked in garden some. Rained hard in evening. Got fire insurance policy, $160.80, up $5.00.

9 AM church service, 47 out. We went to Kiechle’s, Perin’s, and Ben’s in AM. Went to Slates in evening. A just beautiful day. I called Gladys Adams. We had picnic supper in back yard.

A great day. Hot. In the 80’s. I cleaned bathroom rug. Merrill went over town. Cheryl Horton here with check for Merrill.

Elmer Hoover dug up pipe at CEC. Merrill worked at that all PM. I washed dark clothes. Cleaned Merrill’s lounge chair. Great day. Hot, but not so humid.

Merrill finished water pipe repair at CEC. Sent Jolie note, card, and check. I washed dresses and white clothes.

Jolie’s 15th birthday. Merrill mowed Kavanaugh’s lawn. Cold today. Darcy got a new mini bike. Down to 49° during night.

Merrill mowed our lawns. We went for groceries. Merrill got hair cut. Quaker Days at Philadelphia start tonight and go through Sunday. Sent Bob Griffin card in hospital, pneumonia.

Quaker Day. Cloudy and rain. Cold. Lots of things canceled. Belile’s getting ready for trip to Nova Scotia tomorrow for two weeks.

Church at Mills, 10 AM Ordination reception for Rev’s Collin and Kathy after service. Covered dish. All very nice. About 90 there. We went to parade of the bands afterwards. Jolie marched with Sackets Harbor. We went over to Aunt Maude’s in the evening.

Cloudy and rainy. Vern called at noon. They are coming tomorrow. He has 4:30 eye appointment with Dr. Scanlon.

Administrative Council at 7:30. I have devotions. Merrill went. I didn’t go. School vote passed. 9 million dollar budget. We voted on school budget. Went to store and paid water bill, $50. Vern, June, Don, and Bea here for supper. Bea not too good. Vern still has his eye infection. Saw Dr. Scanlon.

We went to city. Went up to park and ate lunch from Burger king. Hot today. Got white paint at Sears. Leslie called in evening. His daughters are coming to see him on the 27th. He hasn’t seen them since they were small.

I washed clothes. Cloudy about all day. Cha over to see garden. Got truck load of logs, $175.00. Tim Dank, Carthage, brought them.

Very hot, 85°. We went for groceries in AM. I’m very lame. They opened the overhead to traffic today for first time.

Terrible hot and muggy today. Merrill mowed Kavanaugh’s lawns. Got car insurance notice, up $111 this year.

Haggerty Reunion at Wescott Beach. We went and Jim’s went. Only 32 there this year. Uncle Len, 92 there. Rained terrible in evening. We stopped at Jim’s. He’s working the fair this week. We went to church. Only 40 there.

Merrill took chain saw to Mills for repair. Got new chain for it, $14.98. Merrill mowed lawns. Look nice. Got new health policy from First United American Life Insurance Co. Stephanie Cha here. Ordered cards. Paid her $3.95.

Cooler but nice. Merrill worked at wood. My arms very lame today. Jim Matteson almost 89 died in Virginia today. Got card from Gloria Verbridge from Alaska. She is visiting Sands and family.

We went for groceries for the ice cream social in AM. Bob Griffin is finally out of intensive care. Merrill worked at wood off and on. Watched the Royal wedding on TV (Andrew and Sarah) Very grand. Belile’s got home from vacation trip.

We went for groceries. Stopped at Leah’s. Very hot. Vivian was over. Plane hay lift from Fort Drum for Carolina Farmers hit by drought. Sent Don card and Alice and Bob Griffin a note.

Still very hot and humid. Merrill went to Mills but saw was not done. I washed clothes. We ate outside. I was sick with cramps in evening. New neighbors have moved into Cooper house.

Jim Matteson’s burial at Great Bend Cemetery. We went to it. Raining off and on. Very muggy.

Bonnie’s’ shower, 1-4 at Legion. I went. Nice but not too many there. Glen Brady stopped by. We went to church, 38 out. Patty, Joel, and Jolie here for picnic supper. Frieda here in evening. Had green beans from garden.

I’m lame today. Washed clothes. Very hot and humid all day. Merrill went over town.

Merrill picked first cucumbers. Elaine Horton here. Rainy and thunder storms off and on.

Ice Cream Festival. Rained so we had to hold it inside. Went very well. Philadelphia kitchen band played. Made $400.77. We worked in PM and evening. Wrote Vern’s. Bad accident at Blinker light at Mills. One man killed.

Sure tired today. We went over town. Took back stuff and paid bills. Cleared $400. More stuff to sell. Cloudy day.
