May Day. Much cooler. Washed dark clothes. Settled front porch. Got nice letter from Kathy and Steve.

I wrote Miss Carolyn Berry. Sunny but cool. Called Mills folks about May 23rd meeting.

We went for groceries in AM. Merrill mowed lawns for first this year. Picked first asparagus. Cold wind. Riding lawn mower quit.

Merrill finished lawn with push mower. I baked muffins, brownies, and 2 dozen rolls. Jim called in evening. All are well. Explorers at Scoutaramma at Fort Drum.

Raining. Washed clothes. Carl Scee 85 died at 10 AM this morning. Peggy called at 11:30.

We went to Sunday School 42 and church 44, Communion. Vern and June stopped by in PM. Had been to mall. They have a 1987 wine colored Chevy station wagon. Very nice.

Sent for car plates. Two years, $63.50. Cloudy and rainy off and on all day. Merrill took lawn mower apart. Vicky and Michael Walcorth (?) have baby boy.

Carl Scee’s funeral. We went to it. Catholic service. Very nice. Lots of flowers. So good to see the kids again. All there but Shirley and Myrtle. Myrtle’s daughter real bad with MS. She’s 20 years old. Shopped at Pharmhouse.

Warmer but windy. I didn’t go to Rebekah’s. Ginny sick with cold. Merrill planted corn. Vivian brought us carrots from her garden.

I washed clothes. Very windy. We went for groceries in AM. Got garden seeds, $8.72. Had some plants yet to buy. Merrill went to Mills for lawn mower part.

Rainy and cold, 40°. Got letter from Gladys Adams about farewell party for Kerr-Carpenter’s.

Sent Patty birthday card. Got first asparagus. Washed clothes. Merrill mowed lawns. Jim called in evening. He has night off to attend Police Awards banquet at Pierpont Inn. He gets silver award for Midtown Towers fire help. 9 police got it.

Mother’s Day. Rainy and cloudy. We went to Sunday School 41, and church 57. Zellar baby baptized. Jim, Jill, and Joel here for dinner. Brought me red begonia plant and cake. Jolie started job at grocery store at Sackets today.

Sunny in the 60’s. Rained some in PM and evening. Froze 1 package of asparagus. I’ve been tired all day. Doctor’s office opened at shopping center here. Monday – Friday 9-5.

We cleaned side porch and laundry room.

Vern here for lunch. He had been to see lawyer Jackson about our farm. We cleaned dining room and bedroom. Sammy Davis Jr. 64 and Jim Henson (Muppets) 53 both died today.

Raining. We sent in Seracult test kits. We went for groceries.

Cold, windy, and rainy.

Cloudy, cool. Washed clothes. Froze asparagus.

New church hymnals dedicated. We went to Sunday School 48, and church 53. Beulah C, Robert, Cheryl, Breanne, and Chrips (?) here for supper. Got here at 5:15. left at 8:30. Rained all day.

Sent Don Gehm card and note. Cloudy and windy.

Merrill mowed lawns. I made butterscotch cookies, cup cakes, and cake, and brownies.

PPR meeting at Philadelphia with Carolyn Berry and District Superintendent, McClune. 12 present. Carol is very enthusiastic with a nice sense of humor. Folks liked her. She will be moving here the last week of June.

Merrill finished mowing lawn. My arthritis real bad in my leg. Merrill worked on water pipes at parsonage. Beliles went camping. School out early for weekend.

We went for groceries. We took door window to city for new glass. We went to Franks for tomato and cabbage plants. Got 4 red geraniums for cemetery. Set them out on the way home.

Sent AARP insurance, $81. Merrill went to dump. Washed clothes. Merrill unlocked church for Jeannie R to get chairs for party.

Party surprise for Alice Flaherty’s 80th birthday. Alice’s family all in church. We went to Sunday School 48, and church 90. Sunday School awards given. Joyce Griffin preached. Excellent. Beautiful day. Sunday School out for summer.

Merrill planted all the garden. Memorial Day. A just beautiful day. Parade over town but we didn’t go. Merrill met Rappole’s at church to put chairs back.

Merrill and Bill M worked at water pipes at parsonage. Froze asparagus.

We cleaned living room. Quite windy. Merrill went to parsonage to fix leak in pipe.

We went for groceries in AM. Merrill got a hair cut. Mother’s Day program. Celebration group from Holy Family Church sang. Marie and Shari in charge. Very nice.
