Everyone sleepy. Got to bed at 4:30 AM.

Was so icy on our road I didn’t get to work. Marty Rudes was here for dinner.

Vern got notice today to go for physical January 14th. George Henderson killed beef. Vern & Jim took out tree & decorations.

Very stormy. Vern & June left for Oswego about 4:45.

Very cold. Terrible stormy other places. Merrill went to lodge installation. He is R.S.Vice Grand. 22° below zero this morning.

Very cold still. Got oil change at Mercer’s. Got letter from Dot Talcott.

Warmer tonight. I went downtown at noon. I got wool slacks. $3.00 at Bargain Center. Vernon’s name is in paper for draft call.

Warmer. Girls got groceries after work. Got letter from June. She said it was very bad going back to Oswego on Sunday night.

Cut up 1/4 beef in evening & wrapped it.

Very cold & snowy. Wrote Vern. Merrill & Jim went to Theresa. Merrill got rubber boots.

Still stormy. cut & wrapped meat. Made fried cakes.

Warmer. Merrill took meat to Theresa to have ground

Vernon got home in evening. Roads good again.

Jim went to game at school. Vern’s physical. Went to Syracuse on 10:30 bus. Got home at 8:00. He didn’t pass because of his eyes. I went to lodge. Was on committee with Dot & Fern Burn. 

No school because of icy roads. Vernon went back to Oswego. Had class at 12:00.

Very stormy. Snowing hard in evening. Jim went over to Howard’s

Sent Doreen card. Very stormy all day.

Snowing & blowing all day. Stopped in evening. Went over to Evelyn’s in evening to see Hal for first time.

Merrill finished cutting up beef. Very stormy. No mail, or bread truck. Jim got out of school at 1:30. Roads closed most of day. Abby & Bob have baby boy Rocky LaRue.

Finally stopped storming. Sent cow & 3 calves to sale. Got car & truck tabs today. Josephine C got them for me.

Thawing. Water everywhere.

Ivan Corso have baby girl. Cheryl Ann. Very stormy on way home from work. I got in ditch. Elmer Gleason helped me home. Jim didn’t get home from school.

Merrill went over to Rudes for Jim. Got phone fixed in PM. We went to Theresa for meat. Finished freezing hamburg. Merrill paid up Mosher. I didn’t go to work.

Washed & cleaned. Cold. Washed my hair.

Snowed some in morning. Cold. Merrill got driveway shoveled out in PM. Merrill worked on income tax returns.

Very cold. almost 20° below zero last night. Merrill paid taxes & got dog license at Antwerp.

Virginia & I shoveled out place to park at shop. Wrote Vernon & Mom. Got letter from Mom.

Lodge but I didn’t go. Windy.

Swell day again. Quite warm. Rose D. rode home tonight. Joined Dot Chulton’s club. $20.66.

Past Grands at Lula Rappole’s. Jim played basketball. Carthage at Philadelphia. Went to Past Grands. Got black slacks from Spiegels.

We all went to basketball game. Town team & Brockville. Marty came home with us. Jim & I went to city.

Marty went home. Very cold. I have sick headache. Made cake.

Cold & stormy at night. Bad driving.

Lawrence Hall rode to city with us. I took Rose D. home in evening. Stopped at Shurtlift’s funeral home to see Theresa Watson’s father. Washed my hair.

Windy, raining, also some snow. Vernon got 4-F draft notice.

Cold & windy.

Another bad snow storm at Oswego. Roads blocked. Jim went to Lowville with basketball team. Jean Nevilles & Jimmy Hall Married.

Snowy. Jim & I went to Theresa. I got coat & skirt. Jim went skating to Bobby Eggleston’s. Jim got flat top hair cut. Made out income tax.

Very cold. Worked all day, washing & ironing. Made bread.

15 ° below zero last night. Freezing rain on way home. Sent in income tax. Paid $38.00.

Past Grands at Helen Dickson’s. Very stormy all day. I didn’t get into work until 9:00. Sleet, snow etc. Girls rode with Nellie.

The plow went through at 7:00 AM. I got to work at 8:15. Very icy. Girls went with Nellie.

Cold & slippery in morning. Nice later in day.

Friday the 13th. Roads terrible slippery in morning. No school because bus driers refused to drive on ice. Jim played basketball in evening.

I went to Gouverneur to have car oiled & greased & washed. Nice day. Jim baked cake in evening.

Snowed last night. Nice day but more snow.

Wrote Mom & Mother Tryon. Sent her card & $23.00 for her birthday.

Snowy & cold.

Jim was sick all day but nurse wouldn’t let him come home. Got letter from Mom.

Jim didn’t go to school. Very cold. Jim feeling better tonight.
