This is my 59th diary. It is a gift from June and Vern as are several of my later ones. A beautiful sunny day after all the snow. Folks are digging out their cars. I watched most of the Rose Parade on TV. I called Jim. He has been sick a couple days. He was going to plow snow today. Coby Slate called. Alice F holding her own so far. I took down Christmas decorations. Nancy H called. Alice out of ICU. Pricilla, Wayne, and Joyce’s mom very bad. Jolie called in evening.

Cold, but nice. Sunny. I stored away Christmas decorations for another year. I paid my rent. Hope gave me information for reclassification in February. I played Pedro in evening. Three tables. Got first B-12 pills from drug store. 1000 mg. He forgot milk so came back with it.

A nice day. Cloudy in PM. I went to exercise class. All were present. Dawn brought us cookies. Very good. I got plants back in living room from my bedroom. I called Jim. He was busy plowing snow. Coby S called in evening. He went to see Alice F today. Joanne got home yesterday. I sent Ken Birthday card. Sent notes to Dan’s.

Not a bad day. Mostly cloudy. I did two loads of wash so spent most of AM in laundry. Linda Beyette called. Pricilla Woodrow, 94, Wayne and Joyce’s mother died yesterday. Lidia is back from New York so our hall isn’t as quiet as it was. Good to have her home. Lyla called. Also Margaret Keichle. Jim here in evening. It will cost $2400 to fix his truck from damage with deer.

Cloudy. Coby called in AM. He had been to see Alice. She has refused all help to keep her alive. She must feel it is her time to die. I got nice note from Robin, Dan and kids.

38° and 32°. A nice day but no sun. We went to church. Communion. I met 2 nice soldiers wives. Just so sweet. Their husbands are in the war zone. Ken’s birthday. 82 years. I went to Baptist service in Metcalf room in PM. Coby left a message while I was at church that Alice died at 4 AM this morning. I called Vi. Margaret K called in evening. Jolie called after I went to bed at 11:45 PM.

Cold. Partly sunny. I washed some things out by hand. Coby S brought me church tapes. I listened to them in evening. Centennial Club at 7:30. Good turnout. New President, Barbara Coughlin. New treasurer Jane Northrup. Shirley Davis is Vice President. And Marion Carvell is secretary again. Jim Nash out as President and Betty Hull out as vice president.

Warmer. A few show flurries. Raining in evening. I sent sympathy card to Alice’s family. Also $10 to Philadelphia UMC memorial fund in Alice’s name. I played Pedro in evening. Three tables. It is in Times tonight that Alice’s memorial service is on Saturday, January 19th at noon at the church. Jolie and Kids called in late evening. She is checking out apartments. I talked with VI.

Cloudy. Misty. Betty here to clean. We went to grocery store. I answered Kristen’s Pen Pal letter. Jim called on way to Clayton. They moved snow from out front to the back lawn. Quite a pile of it.

Cloudy. The sun out about 10 minutes. I went for coffee and donuts. Jolie called to say Nancy Lawler is in hospital. She is real bad. They found her on the floor. Her liver about gone from cancer. I got card from Jessie from Florida.

Nice day but strong wind. Jim Nash and I went to church. Sherri didn’t go. Florence D walked over to hospital with me to see Nancy Lawler. She’s very ill with cancer. I talked with Lyla. I called Nancy and Wayne. Also Vi. Mary Hall called in evening. We had nice visit. Donna or Katrina will come after us Saturday. Jim called in evening. Also Jolie and Shawn Michael.

Rain. Snow. 37° and 30°. I went to exercise class. 8 out. Ethel Dunn called. I gave her Debby’s email code. Roads very slippery in PM and evening. Lots of cars off the roads. Vi called in PM.

Sunny day. I took Christmas tree apart that I got from Jolie, Zack, and kids. It was real pine. I washed out blouse and underwear by hand. Lyla called. I played Pedro in evening. I watched call in show abut Fort Drum on PBS with Col. Kelly, Mr. Deans. McHugh and Keating. Very interesting.

29° and 19°. Terrible lake affect snow all AM. Got about one foot. I stopped about noon and the sun came out. Coby S called to say he wouldn’t be in city to bring tapes. Too stormy. Not bad at Philadelphia. I got letter from Clark and Vivian. Cold in Florida. I wrote note to Jill. Vi called twice. Coby called twice. I called Donna E and Vi M. I called June and Vern. Snowing in Oswego. Nice here tonight.

Cold but a nice sunny day. Donna Ellis came to city to get Vi M. and I so we could attend Alice Flaherty’s memorial. The church was full to overflowing. All very beautiful. There was a dinner at the legion. Loads of food. I got to see so many people. Donna and Sharon’s twins brought us home. Mary Hall, her daughter’s, her granddaughter, and Marie worked in the kitchen. I am so glad I had the girls in 4-H several years back. They are all such good people.

Jim called from Albany. They were at Nancy’s daughters, Sally. Will be home tonight. Jolie called. She said Shane is no longer with Jill.

Cloudy and snowy by spells. No mail but paper was delivered. I wrote Debby. Also answered her question about family tree. I wasn’t out of my apartment all day. Jolie called after I went to bed. Shawn Michael may fly home to see Nancy.

Sunny day. Much warmer. I went to exercise class. Interviews for New Call Center 9 AM-8 PM. It starts today and on tomorrow also. News tonight says 3200 interested people passed through the interview. I talked with Lyla.

Much warmer. Cloudy. Raining and windy. I washed clothes. I played Pedro in evening. We only had two tables. I saw Cheryl in hallway tonight. Jolie called in PM. She is thinking of letting Shawn Michael come to see Nancy. The news tonight says 6550 people were interviewed in all for the 900 jobs.

Cloudy. Warm. Jolie called at 9:30 AM. She had just put Shawn Michael on the plane to come back here for a week to see his Nana Lawler. He’ll get to Syracuse at 4 PM. I went for coffee and donuts. I called Jim. Jolie called in evening. Shawn Michael had a good flight and on time. Shawn met him at airport.

A beautiful day. Like spring. 40° and 33°. I went to church and Sunday school with Jim and Sherri. Jennifer Swee rode to Sackets with us. Church “out” to eat brunch. We went to the Rusted Roof on Route 3 after church and Sunday school. Henry B and Rick C were out flying their kites.

Sleet and snow during night. Slippery in AM. I took bus to and from doctor’s office. I played Pedro in evening. Dr. LaPoint 10:30 AM. Everything okay. I’m to take only one Relafen a day. Lidia leaves for Florida for a month. Jolie called to say Nancy is very bad today. The priest gave her last rites of the Catholic Church.

Very stormy. Snow, sleet, and ice. Very bad Syracuse and Oswego way. Got here about 10 AM. I went to exercise class. Nancy Lawler 60 years died at 11 PM of cancer at her home. Juanita called in evening. Ken isn’t feeling so good. Doctor told him it is his heart. Bob Barker’s daytime show “The Price id Right” is 30 years old today. To celebrate they are taking it on the road to LasVegas for a nighttime show tonight at 8 PM.

Very icy in morning. Raining. Very windy in PM and evening. Shawn Lawler called to say his mother died about 11 PM last night. Jolie called. I called Lyla. Shawn brought Shawn Michael to spend afternoon. Jessie came also. Jim took us to Clayton for dinner at “The Pier”. Nancy went with us also. I had a delicious fish fry. Jim and Nancy here awhile when they brought me home.

Snowy. Colder. 29° and 8°. Shawn brought Shawn Michael about 1 PM. Jim picked him up at 2:30. They had to leave the truck at Jill’s and be at the airport at 4 PM. Their plane leaves at 5 PM. I moped both bath and kitchen floors. I went to Centennial Club meting in evening. Hope is ill with cold and couldn’t attend. New officers in charge. Jolie called in evening. Jim and Shawn Michael’s plane delayed 1 hour and 40 minutes in Chicago. She was on the way to pick them up.

A very stormy, snowy day. I went to exercise class. VIP in PM. Mike White cancelled because of the weather. Lynda B, Bertha A and I only ones attending. Hope and Lee inspected my apartment. 29° and 6°. Cold but sunny all day. Great. I went for coffee and donuts in the morning. Cora Carr stopped by and also called on phone. Lyla called. I talked with Vi twice. Mary Chamberlain in Coronary care. She had stroke and fell in her shower. She was there quite awhile before they found her.

Very windy. Rainy. We didn’t go to church. Lazy day. Jim Nash sick with flu. Jolie and kids called. She called again at 11 PM. Toni Hardy called in evening asking for Vi’s address. We had nice visit. I called Vi to let her know the church received her memorial money for Alice. Juanita called and we had a long visit. Ken’s heart is okay. They could find nothing wrong. A part of Ken’s barn roof blew off into the road that terrible windy day.

A nice day. 45°. Cora Carr called in AM. I talked with Vi. She’s coming over tomorrow. I saw Raymond and Naomi Hewitt at eye doctor. Dr. Sanni 1:45 PM. My eye pressure is up so he added another eye drop. 1% Philocarpine to the three I’m already using. We went to covered dish supper at church. The Riemer’s showed slides and talked about their work in Africa. Very interesting.
