Pay telephone this month, 3 payments. We went to church 58. Ken and Esther went to Massena for day. Called Elgin in evening. Vern and June called in evening. All are well.

Canada. Ken, Esther, Merrill and I spent the day in Canada with Elgin and Carmi Bowman. Elgin had a lovely dinner. Loren and Vera Strader on trip so we didn’t see them. Ken and Esther went back home tonight. They stayed at Philadelphia motel last night.

Election day. We voted in AM, #93 and #94. Merrill went to Dobbins in Adams for car part. Merrill washed car. Bill Clinton, Al Gore elected President and Vice President.

Merrill took car to George’s for new vacuum pump but had wrong pump. I froze 8 packages of beets. Last of garden stuff.

Merrill took pump back to Adams. Ordered new one at Dobbins, $147.00. Will take five days to get it. We got groceries in evening. UMW at church, 7:30. 11 out. Diane Riley new president. Margaret retired. She has had it for years.

Cloudy dark day. I made 2 apple pies for freezer. My arthritis bad today.

Down to 20° last night. Sunny and cold all day. Merrill went to dump. I washed clothes.

We went to church, 63 out. Pickert baby baptized. New family on Kiechle farm there for first. I called Jim’s. Joel hunting. Jill working.

Merrill put more wood in cellar. A nice day. Warmer.

Nice day, warm 57°. Washed sheets from upstairs. We didn’t go to Bible Study.

No school or mail. Sue and Heather here. Rebekah’s. I didn’t go. Beulah C, Gloria, and Roger here. Beulah took “take out” for lunch from Philly Inn. June Ridsdale called. Don’s building, back of barn burned. Jim called. Debby here to borrow my typewriter. I called Don’s.

Very windy in evening. Raining. Vi called.

Very windy all night. Power off 3 hours. High winds all day. We went for groceries in AM. Saw Ethan. I wrote Blair for 3rd time about order.

Everything covered with snow this morning . Plows were out many times. Stormed all day. A foot of snow in places.

Merrill used snow blower for first this fall to clean our driveway and Cha’s. Men moved gas stove up from basement in new kitchen.

Charge Conference at Antwerp. We didn’t go to it. Donna gave me permanent, $20. Snowing hard most of day and evening. Girls here this morning. Bob hunting.

Snowing lightly. Merrill cleaned out driveway again. He went to store. Indian River School kids to receive shots for meningitis. Theresa girl has it. Theresa man, 49 died of it.

Dr Siegel 1:00 PM. All okay. He is leaving Watertown after January 1st. I made appointment with Dr. Stark for March 10. We went to meeting at church in evening. Administrative Council and Trustees. Merrill called Dobbins again about part. They called back in the evening.

Merrill went to Adams for part for car in morning. Cost $154.80. Took it to George’s at 1 PM. Paid George $90.00. Took 3 hours. Kids at school get meningitis shots today and tomorrow.

I went for groceries. Got turkey for 29¢ per pound. Merrill helped at church while I got groceries. He helped in PM also A beautiful day. Roast beef supper at church. Made $350. Merrill went over and brought ours home. Very good. Wrote June and Vern.

My 75th birthday. Merrill gave me silver heart earrings. Washed clothes. Raining. Merrill took garbage. Vern and June called to wish me happy birthday. Dan and Robin still at Vern’s for Robin’s accident trial. Got more cards. Bea Gehm to have hip operation December 10th.

We went to church 57, and Sunday School 27. Steve called in evening . They are joining us Thursday at Ramada. Debby’s 33rd birthday. Raining. Our snow all melted. Thanksgiving supper at church 5:30, 15 to supper. Communion Service with Evans Mills folks here also. All very nice.

Thunder storm during night. Raining all day. Very muddy. Called Jim at Sue’s. Vern called Jim last night.

Dr. Kayani, 2:45. Eye pressure 14. He changed my right lens. We went to see Roy and Aunt Maude at Madonna Home. Both pretty good. Roy’s mind off.

Tired and sore today. Les Scrimminger 56, died of heart attack.

Thanksgiving. Out to eat with Jim’s and Vern’s and Steve’s and Bea Gehm. All there but Jill. Great day together. Nice dinner at Ramada buffet. Raining all day. First time Kristen and Shawn together. So cute. June and Vern gave us a Rival electric can opener.

Payne party at Legion. Bob and Marilyn’s 25th anniversary. We went. All very nice. We went to funeral home for Les Scrimminger, 56, before party. We went for groceries in morning. Rev. Carol here in AM. Asked me to be on PPR Committee again.

Washed clothes. Dark, cloudy day. My legs very sore in evening. Hurts to walk. Made meat loaf and scalloped potatoes for supper.

We went to church, 44 out. Advent Sunday. Lazy day.

We went to city. Left my glasses at Dr. Smith’s for new right lens. Got drugs at Pharmhouse. Left clothes to be cleaned at Frederick’s. Merrill got jacket at Sals. store. Tired when I got home.
