A beautiful day. We went for drive in new car. I drove it for first.

A beautiful day. Merrill went to Horton’s and June’s. I washed clothes. Outside all day.

Church at 9 AM, 34 there. We went up to Uncle Len’s and Roggie’s. Had supper with Pauline and Garmon. Nice but my throat very sore. Jim in the mountains with boys for boating week. Vickie here from California for visit.

Darcy’s 14th birthday. Olive, Elgin, Carmine, and Wilamina here. I went to Ken’s with them for supper. Stopped at Orv’s and Richard’s on way . Martha went back to Alaska with Margaret for 2 weeks.

Washed. Merrill working on June’s haybind and tractor part of day. We went for groceries at noon. June and Susan here in PM. Also Kathy Paro. Watered the garden in evening. Very dry. I have sore throat bug.

Picnic at Vern’s. Howard and Evelyn came down also. Don and Bea Gehm there visiting from Florida. Nice day together. Rained about all day there. Rained here in morning. We got home about 9:30 PM. Steve has job at P & C store.

Merrill took car back to Greenwood for squeak underneath it. They replaced an axle and universal joint. Dodge won’t start. Merrill mowed the lawns in PM and evening. My throat bad. Coughed all night.

Merrill went to city for parts for Dodge. It still wouldn’t start so Joe came over and got it going. $7.00. Merrill worked at June’s haybind in PM. I’ve felt horrid all day from bug.

Renewed Times for 25 weeks, $42.50. A nice day. We went for groceries in AM. Merrill painted on house. I washed clothes. Cool in evening again.

Merrill went to church, 33 out. I didn’t go as I coughed up too much in morning. A lazy day. My flu bug started to break up in evening.

Still coughing up lots all day but feel better. Sent Jolie card, letter, and $5.00. Merrill went to George Seiko’s for points for Dodge, $8.32. Darcy and Jeff here.

Jolie’s 13th birthday. Joe Healy came over and put points on Dodge, $7.00. Nice day. Got Blue Cross refund from Dr. Scanlon’s appointment, $25.00.

Hot and humid. Showers in AM. Rained hard in late PM and evening. I’m still coughing up a lot. Belile’s left for Camp Keywadin Park.

Nice day but windy. Vera and Margaret here to make out slips for strawberry festival in PM.

Friday the 13th. Nice day. Washed clothes. June R here awhile in PM.

Merrill cleaned church in the morning. Also mowed the lawns here. Patty called. We talked for 2 hours. Jim and 3 kids are on an overnight camping trip to Stillwater. Hot, humid and windy.

We went to church, 30 out. Haggerty Reunion at Wescott Beach, 119 there. Very nice. Loren and Vera Strader came from Canada. Stormed hard in evening. Bill and Brenda and boys came to it by boat. Uncle Len Haggerty, 90 oldest. Stopped at Sackets. Jolie, Jill came home with us.

Another nice day. Girls in Belile’s pool next door all PM. Washed clothes. Girls put on a show for us. Tickets cost 60 cents each.

We took girls to picnic at Watertown City Park. It is so great up there. An enjoyable day but I’m tired tonight. Got letter from June and Vern.

Tina Brancatella 12, here to spend day with girls. We took her home in evening. Rained in PM. Thunder some.

Patty and Audrey and Joel came after girls. Joel stayed out for rest of week. Merrill picked first peas. Rev. Catherine Salisbury here in PM.

We went for groceries. Got part of groceries for church ice cream social. Made cookies for bake sale.

Quaker Days at Philadelphia. UMW had bake sale. I made 5 dozen cookies. Frog jumping contest. Joel was in it. He had a good day. Evelyn here in evening. Jim came here and spent the night. First time here over night.

I didn’t go to church. Merrill went, 18 out. Coughed all night. Jim and Joel left about 11 . My throat bad. Feel horrid. Very hot and humid.

Administrative Council at CEC at 8 PM. 12 came. Not much business. My throat bad. Watered garden in evening. Wrote Vern’s about Jim’s.

A great day. Washed upstairs bedding. Nice breeze. George and Mac Peterson here on bikes. Had been to Uncle Len’s. Here for supper.

My throat real bad. Coughed all night. Merrill went to store and got me Vicks cough syrup and cough drops. June R was here in evening. She can’t meet farm payment. We canned 7 quarts of green beans.

Don’s birthday. Sent his card. I forgot it yesterday. I coughed up a lot today and feel punk. Slept most of day.

Raining. First in ages. We went for groceries in PM. Got letter from June and Vern. Vern called in evening to say they will be out tomorrow,. Made cake and cupcakes.

Vern and June and Dan here for lunch. Vern stopped at Fays for my eye drops, $24.35 for both now. Foggy in morning but sunny in PM.

We went to church, 33 out. A beautiful day. Rev Salisbury gave Merrill recognition in service for all he does for the church. Merrill has bad cold. Jim, Patty, kids here for supper and evening. Kids went swimming in Belile’s pool.

Real warm nice day. Washed clothes. Josephine Carnival gave me gooseberries. June R here at supper time. Darcy brought over Zigiment(?) cake.

Old fashioned strawberry festival at church. Huge success but lots of work. A great night for it. 200-300 people, we made $582.22. We helped set up for it. Islanders group sang.

Car to garage for window molding. No charge. Took soft drinks back to store. Paid bills from social. Groceries cost $50 at Big M. Jim here in evening. He had been to Horton’s farm to visit “Vision Quest” wagon train encampment.

Linda Belile leaves for training at Fort Bragg. Gone 3 weeks. We got groceries. Joe Healy took our station wagon to his place. Wrote Vern’s. Very hot and humid. Vision Quest wagon train very impressive but sad. Merrill ordered load of wood.

Raining. Hot and muggy. We watched 2nd wagon train pull out for Gouverneur. Merrill put wood down cellar.

Very hot and humid. Washed clothes. Merrill went up to Joe’s. He has Dodge all apart. Got letter from Vern’s.

We went to church, 35 there. Rev. Bea had sermon. Very hot and humid. We spent day in back yard. Very relaxing. No company.

Hazy and hot again today. Merrill put wood down cellar. I baked cookies and pumpkin pies and pie shells. Merrill’s cold is some better. Vera brought $2 more on festival, $584.22.

Rained some during night. Still hot and very humid. Got card from Vern’s.

We went to city. Merrill renewed certificate. Got eye drops etc. at Fays. Very hot and humid. June R here. Paid more on January payment. She is behind seven payments. Wrote Vern’s.

We got Dodge from Joe’s but it is leaking oil so we took it back, cost $100. He replaced timing gear. We went for groceries. Merrill washed car for first time. Still very hot and humid.

Hamilton brought load of logs, $220. We went to Mills so I could renew certificate. Merrill went to bank at Philadelphia to deposit check. I wrote items for church newsletter and left it at Rev. Salisbury’s. George and Joey took Allan to Delaware.

We go to Vern’s and Country Faire in Minetto. Got there about 2 PM. We went around by Don’s first. Lots going on there. Faire very nice. Committee from Philadelphia toured churches to look at models. Thunder storm during night.

We all went to Minetto church. Helped clean up from Faire. We all went out to Rudy’s for lunch. Stopped at Jim’s on way home. Had supper with them.

Cloudy. Merrill started cutting wood. We canned 6 pints of bread and butter pickles. I washed clothes. Very humid all day.

Still hot and muggy. They changed my eye appointment in the morning. Some rain in morning. Rained hard in evening.

Dr. Scanlon at 9 AM. All okay. Sent Blue Cross and Medicare claims. Called Jim’s from city. Sent car insurance on both cars, $224.00. Got station wagon home. Radiator heating up.

Wrote Uncle Berl. Merrill went to dump with Dodge. Transmission not right. Merrill cleaned at church. We went for groceries. Rained hard in AM. Vivian brought us cantaloupe from their garden.

Merrill cleaned church and cut wood. My arthritis hurting. Cooler today and not so humid. Merrill cleaned floors.
