Jim and Patty’s 15th anniversary. Got dentures with Dr. Sommers, 10:30, $77.00 repair. Mother and Daughter banquet at Fire Hall. Very nice. School chorus sang. Cathy brought me home from banquet.

Mother’s Day. We went to Sunday School and church, 79 out. Jim’s and Audrey here for dinner and PM. Nice day together. Cold wind. Jim’s brought me mum plant. Audrey gave me flowers. We had birthday cake for Patty.

Carol brought my new large print Living Bible, $22.35 from Cheryl’s Successful Living party. Merrill mowed lawns. Cold and cloudy. I got a card from Ruth Eggleston from Florida.

We had first asparagus from garden. Also first rhubarb this spring. We cleaned store room upstairs. Cold, cloudy and rainy day. Merrill got check for $302.78 from State for church land.

We went to city for iron railing and stain for patio. Got tomato and cabbage plants and red geraniums for cemetery. All, $179 each. Steve called in evening. He and Gail coming tomorrow night.

We went to Sunday School and church, 49 there. Steve and Gail went to church. Aunt Maude went to Syracuse to see her sister Carrie. I went to Theresa to a shower for Patty Bray (Dennis Haggerty), about 30 there. Steve and Gail left after dinner. Merrill painted iron railings.

Trustee’s meeting. They talked about church addition. Froze first asparagus. Cloudy and muggy day, 80’s. Washed white clothes. Merrill mowed lawns. We ate lunch on the patio for first time. I love it. Got letter and negatives from June.

Rebekah’s, only 5 out. Bank robbery. Got $17,000.00. Vi was in bank. Rained all day. Merrill fixed faucet at church and went to Library. Philadelphia bank was held up while he was over there. Audrey called. Jim is some better. He is taking vitamin C I gave him. Church Conference starts.

Merrill helped Horton’s get heifers in AM. Built fence in PM. They found car used by bank robbery in Theresa. We took plants to cemetery in evening. Called at Grant Hall for Lee in evening. Aunt Maude went with us. Made cake for Halls. Froze more asparagus. Church conference ends.

Memorial Day. Raining. Most all parades canceled. Merrill went down to June’s before he went to Horton’s to help move cattle. Melissa Horton’s 2nd birthday. Merrill didn’t work in PM. Watched burial of Viet Nam unknown vet in Arlington cemetery.

Administrative Council, 18 out. Started plans for selling CEC for building on church. Jim went to Syracuse to see doctor. Vern’s here on way to Potsdam. June R and Laura Ridsdale’s birthdays. Sent Blue Cross claim.

Howard and Evelyn’s 32nd anniversary. Eclipse of the sun today, 12 to 1 PM. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Audrey called. Jim may have dye and CAT scan later. Vern spent night in city. He has meeting in morning.

Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Randy and Elaine and girls went to Ohio. Merrill mowed lawns in evening. Went to Theresa for hair cut in evening. I washed clothes and got clothes ready to take.

Went to Vern’s in PM. Merrill finished lawns with push mower as big one quit. We left for Vern’s at 2:30. Stopped at Ken’s on way down. Sunny day but cold wind. James Fleming robbed Philadelphia bank. He committed suicide last Sunday.

A beautiful sunny day outside all day. They planted trees and garden. We went to Agway. Dan took SAT test (College entrance). Lots of kids here at Vern’s. We are enjoying our visit here so much. Gail Myers here in evening.

We didn’t go to Sunday School or church. Sunday School out for summer. We left Vern’s at 9 AM. Stopped at Orv’s and Richard’s. Shopped at Fays. Ate lunch at Ponderosa. Went for groceries when we got home. Merrill planted several evergreen trees Vern had left over.

Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Belile’s are setting up a satellite dish. first one on this street. Washed. Great day. Merrill stained patio in evening. Marcus (Socks) Morse has had leg off, sugar. Gave McKeever’s 5 trees.

40th anniversary of D-Day of WW II. Clinic: Merrill 104/70 and 14. Mine 152/90 and 11. Rained. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Got groceries at supper time. June R here in evening. We went over to Belile’s in evening. I made an appointment with Dr. Siegel.

UMW at Aunt Maude’s, 11 present. Very hot and humid. Merrill worked at Horton’s. He and Randy went to Gouverneur for lime. Stopped at June’s. Belile’s got satellite dish set up. Looks like huge spider webb. It’s 12 foot.

Merrill went to Whites Lawn Store in morning. June R here. She went to milk plant to have our pay mailed to us each month, $250. An increase of $25.. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Fitted ground for first. I went over to Vivian’s. Linda was over.

Merrill went to Horton’s at 7 AM to fit ground. Got home at 6 PM. Marty mowed our lawns. Gave him $7.00. A beautiful day. Washed clothes. I called Audrey in evening. Denny Haggerty and Patricia Bray married at West Winfield today.

A beautiful day. We went to church, 51 there. Rev. Bea in charge. Rev Catherine in Kansas where they are having bad storms. We had first picnic of year. Patty and kids and Jolie’s friend, Jill Murdock, and Audrey here. June R. and Marty here in PM.

Wrote Uncle Berl. Sent 3 pictures. Rebekah’s, 8 out. We voted to give Lisa Atkinson a $100 Rebekah award for graduation. Also gave D. Delles and Scouts $50 toward Washington trip. Hot and humid. Kathy and boys here. Also June R.

Flag Day. Cloudy. Some rain and thunder during the night. Merrill worked all day at Horton’s. Went back after supper to fix wheel. June R here at supper time. Merrill has put in 117 hours at Horton’s so far.

Colder but nice day. Went for groceries at noon. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Doris Haggerty here for awhile. We were over town to leave ham for church breakfast. Planted more sweet corn. Merrill got cards and letter from kids.

Father’s Day. Merrill and Marty Paro went to Father and Son breakfast at church. We went to church, 74 there. Graduates honored. Jim, Pat, Jill, and Joel here for PM and supper. Pirates arrived in city for summer.

Special church meeting about selling CEC. 20 present. We voted to sell. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Bea Clark, Vera, and Margaret here to plan strawberry festival. Vivian T over. A nice day. Pirates lost 1st game at Utica.

First appointment with Dr. Jay Siegel in city at 1:30. Liked him very much. Got parasite kit at hospital to use. Saw Florence Van Camp and Carrie and Dwayne at Samaritan Keep. Got groceries. Got a wand for my cleaner at McNairn’s.

Merrill finished fitting at Horton’s, 161 hours. He picked 12 quarts of strawberries. Wrote Vern’s. June called from city. Vern had eye appointment. Had first short cake this summer. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Baked cakes. Graduation.

A beautiful day. Merrill went to dump. He cleaned church. Also stopped at Hall’s. They paid Merrill. Paid McNairn $5.00 for vacuum cleaner wand. I washed clothes. Arthritis bad all day. We ate outside.

Dan goes to Boy State. Rainy and windy. We went to church, 37 out. Trustee’s meeting in evening about CEC. Jim’s here when we got home from church. Had shortcake for supper. Their first.

Gave cookies for Bible School. June’s birthday. Took bowel specimen to hospital. We bought 77 Buick Century at Greenwood Buick, $3327 in all. Has 41,333 miles on it. Frieda brought 23 pounds of berries to hull for church social. Ken Bowers here in evening.

Rebekah’s out to eat at Casablanca Restaurant, Gouverneur. I went. Very nice. Carry and Aunt Maude went. Wrote Dan at Boys State at Sienna College, Loudenville, NY. We went to Greenwood’s to pick up car. Did errands for Carl. He paid Merrill $565.25 for work.
