Our 48th anniversary. We went to church 58, and sunday school, 45. Nice day but cold. Had lunch at church and decorated tree and church. I took sandwiches.

Sent cards Got note from Vern’s. Florence Hogaboom real sick with cancer. I called Carl Scee. Vern’s got new car smashed, $800 damage. Made Christmas cookies. Rev. Bea Clark plans to be with Rev. Catherine Salisbury after Christmas.

Down to 22 below zero over night. Up to 10 above today. Wrapped gifts. Got bill for Robbins for furnace repairs this fall. $137.00. Stuart Haggerty and Lori Farrill married tonight at Philadelphia Methodist church.

Most of school closed because of bad weather. Windy. We went for groceries. Countryman’s gave us basket of fruit, 2 pens and 2 calendars. Sent them thank you card. Joey brought us cookies.

Christmas Eve Service at Evans Mills. We didn’t go. Stormed all day. Had our tree in evening. Kevin and Jennifer Drake brought us basket of sweets. Vernon’s and Jim Myer’s leave for Florida tomorrow by train.

We went to Jim’s. Audrey went with us. A sunny day but cold. Below zero all day. A nice day together. I was sick all night and had the chills. We went to 9:30 church service for both churches held at Philadelphia. Only 29 out. Very cold.

Stormed all day but warmer. My arthritis bad today. Merrill went to bank and to Carthage to Gambles for electric starter for snow blower. Cost $109.54. Audrey called. Also Aunt Maude. Florence Hogaboom, 75, died of cancer.

We took down tree and Christmas decorations. Warmer but cloudy. Rebekah’s canceled. Freezing rain in evening. Jim and scouts leave for survival campout.

Florence Hogaboom, 75 funeral in Oswego. Merrill got snow blower going and cleaned driveway. Gary helped. Sun out by spells. Blowing snow. Great in PM and evening. We went for groceries in PM. McCormick’s Restaurant at Clayton burned. One of owners, age 29, died in fire, Mr. Dee.

Dr. Scanlon at 10:15. pressure is 17 in each eye. Terrible stormy going and coming. Nice when we left. Had test on disk (?) that they used on me in Kingston in 1975. Dr. Pinkerton sent in Medicare claim, $25.00. Jane Pauley is off Today show. Had twins. boy and girl.

Vern’s and Jan’s got home from Florida. A nice day after all the storm. No special celebration this year. Watched the New Year in on TV. Sent in contests.

Sunny. No Sunday School. We went to church, 34 out. Called Vern’s. They got home on Schedule. Everything fine. Very cold in Florida. They said Florence Hogaboom died last Tuesday. Talked with Jim from Audrey’s. Made pizza.

Snowing some in morning but sunny in PM. Merrill cleaned church in PM. He cleaned floors here. I washed. Harvey Weeks 2 grandsons, age 2 and 6, sledded into river by old mill Thursday. Their mother and Pam jumped in after them. Lance Martin, 2, died on way to hospital in Syracuse.

Trustee’s voted to insulate rest of parsonage. Steve and Gail left for Potsdam at 9 AM. We went to Sunday School and church, 52 out. Cold. Jim’s didn’t get out. We slept in PM. Charge conference at Mills. Rev. Allison Wood presided. We went for meeting. Trustee’s meeting at 7:30. Regular meeting at 8. Merrill named chairman of Trustees. 25 out to meeting.

Windy and snowy. Randy Horton’s 24th birthday. Horton’s helped Merrill clean out our wood chimney. Put ladder in tractor bucket. Amanda here with them. Also Mike and Blaine Roland. I went to Rebekah’s in evening, 7 there. Lodge gave $25 for new dialysis machine at Mercy Hospital.
