Beautiful day. We went for groceries. Darcy and Joey brought over report cards. Both passed. Last day of school. Washed. Merrill picked 2 quarts of strawberries.

We went to Aunt Maude’s to picnic for Larry Ashley. Nice time. Got things ready for picnic tomorrow here. Merrill cleaned house. Cooler.

Father’s Day. We went to church, 68 out. Jim’s, Bob, and Audrey Puffer came for picnic cook out. Fun day. Rained in morning but great in PM. Sunday School picnic at Matteson’s. First day of summer.

Administrative Board at 8 PM. 10 present. Good meeting. Rained hard all day. Tired today. Jim’s got new 8 week old Keeshond Holland puppy.

Beautiful day. Washed. Merrill went to Horton’s to measure windows. Sent $45 to Pilon’s for Mother T’s engraving on monument, “1981”. Got letter from Vern’s.

Rebekah’s. We went to Vicky’s Diner after Lodge. 10 of us. She had huge feed. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Merrill finished Horton’s window screens. Took them up.

We went to city. Marg was having another sugar spell. 4 days in a row. Got groceries. Merrill mowed lawns in AM and evening. Sent June card and note.

June’s 53rd birthday. Rained all day.

A beautiful day. Merrill went to dump. He got hair cut at Theresa. Also cleaned church and our garage. Linda Belile got home from Reserve training in Kentucky.

A beautiful day. Sat in sun all PM. Went to church. Only 32 out. Marion Rockwood called. Gave Boots a bath with hose outside.

Feel horrid today. No work done.

Went to Vern’s. Stopped at Don’s on way. Very hot. We went to soccer game in evening to see Dan play.

Vern, Steve, and Merrill and I went to Syracuse. Dr. Runge, Upstate, 10:30, 7th floor, room 7405. Complete physical exam, x-rays etc. Took 4 hours. Dr. Kim looked on. Stayed overnight at Vern’s.

Got home about 2 PM. Dan and Steve came with us. Car radiator not working. Terry and Barb McKeever had baby boy, Patrick. Got 11.2% increase in social Security. Went for groceries in evening.

Beautiful day. Merrill and Steve mowed lawns. Washed clothes. Called Ray at hospital. Marg can’t eat as her throat is bad. Jim called.

A beautiful day. Jim’s, and TJ [new dog] here for first time. TJ and Boots got in fight. Audrey Puffer here for picnic. Bob Griffin here. Lots of kids around as usual.

We went to church. Only 30 there. We got lunch at McDonalds and ate at City Park. Went to hospital to see Marg. She’s not very good. Ray, Beulah, and Bev there. Very hot. Radiator heating up on car.

Pastor Parish meeting at Evans Mills, 8 PM. I went with Marsha and Marilyn. A hot meeting. Several sent letters. Merrill got used radiator at Felts Mils, $35. Joe put it on, $15.

Very hot. Went for groceries. Vern’s got here about 5 PM. Had car inspected, $6. Got fire insurance policy, $222 this year.

Vern’s got started at 6 AM for Farmer’s Market at city. Still hot. Washed. Talked with Rev. Owen. Cliff Hamilton brought load of wood, $200 this year.

Sent Jolie card, letter, and $5 check. Washed bed sheets. Merrill worked at wood some. Very hot. In 90’s. Rained in evening. Wilson’s brought 5 fire extinguishers.

Jolie’s 10th birthday. Merrill took chain saw to Mills. He took 5 fire extinguishers to church, parsonage, and CEC.

Merrill mowed lawns. I washed. We went to see Marg in PM. She’s not good. Merrill went with Roy to see Clara. Saw Jim at pet wash [?]. Patty took kids and girls to Park for Jolie’s birthday.

We went to church. 41 out. Darcy went with us. Jim’s here in PM and for supper. Dale Besaw spoke at evening service at church. He just became a licensed Baptist Minister.

Pauline’s called me from Marg’s room. My arthritis bad today. Washed. Rained in evening.

We went to hospital to see Marg. Called Ginny Delles. Shopped at McCrory’s. Merrill got brown shoes. I got brown bag. Talked with Jim. Got letter from Elmer and Melba. They are at Weedsport. Moved on June 30th. Got chain saw from Sixberry’s. Dr. Runge’s secretary called for Dr. Roberts number.

PNG’s go to Colonial Restaurant at Adams Center. Got call from Dr. Runge. I have to have operation for [Hiatal] hernia. Lorraine Hall’s shower at Legion. I went. Nice time. Merrill got lumber and made table for Randy Horton.

Wrote Elmer’s. Washed. Merrill washed car. Jim and Patty both called. Called Ray. Marg pretty good today.

Largest War exercise, 3 days, ever starts at Fort Drum today. Called Dr. Roberts twice. He will contact Dr. Ikin. Dr. Roberts called back at 4 PM. I enter Crouse Irving Hospital in Syracuse at 8 AM. Vern and Steve met us at Mexico exit. Had lots of exams and chest X-rays at 11:30 PM.

Had upper GI series in morning. Also electrocardiogram. Dr. Ikin here for first. Also a doctor came about my eye drops. Finally let me keep my eye drops. Vern and Steve here in PM. Civic Days at Philadelphia.

A lazy day. Slept good last night. Wrote Aunt Maude. Merrill, Vern, Steve and John Cloonon here in PM. Resident doctor here in evening.

Raining. Roommate Lynn Narrow went home. Dr. Ikin here early. Have to have Dr. Runge do more blood tests. Merrill, Vern, June, and boys here. I’m to have my operation on Wednesday. Only liquid diet today. Have new room mate, Sandra Hopkins.

Merrill, Vern here. Also Evelyn Hall and June Ridsdale. Had barium X-rays and 2 units of blood.

Had my operation at 2 PM for hernia. Moved to intensive care afterwards. Merrill, Vern here. Got into intensive care about 7 PM.

I was in intensive care all day and night. June called. No visitors.

Patty, Tracy, and Jean here. Patty went back with Merrill in evening from Vern’s. Merrill and Vern here. Also Steve. They moved me to room 504 from intensive care.

Dan at craft show in Syracuse. Vern and June here in PM. Had another unit of blood, third one. They took out drainage tube. June feeling better from rash. Got plant from Ken and Don’s.

Raining hard all day. Merrill and Vern here. Vern got me the TV @ $2.50.

Vern, June here in evening. Vi called. Steve and Dan painting at South Butler [NY] church. June had teaching interview at Minetto school.

Dr. Sarabu said I could go home Thursday. Merrill, Vern, and June here in evening. Brought me new tan blouse. I visited June Shagel from Auburn in room 501. Had therapy twice today. Cheryl Horton called me. Church folks sent me $25 by Merrill. They took out my IV.

Chest X-rays, two. Merrill and Vern here in PM. My back started draining in evening. Watched the Royal wedding most of day. Prince Charles, 32 and Lady Diane, 20

I didn’t go home. My back still draining. Called Vern’s. Had staples out. Had therapy treatments and steam treatments. No visitors for my second day since I’ve been here. Had clips out.

Merrill and Vern brought me home from hospital to Vern and Junes’. A dog run in front of car. Nancy Schaffer and Ina Cox visiting at Vern and Junes’. So good to sit at a table and sleep at home again.

Got home about 1 PM from Vern’s. Wheel bearing on car went out on route 342. Peggy Sepko brought us home from Joe Healy’s. Kathy and Marty here. Washed my hair.

Took first shower since operation. Feels so great. Jim, Pat, and kids here. Merrill and Pat went for groceries. Beulah called. Marg talking again. Roy has chance to sell his house. Talked with Aunt Maude. Darcy and Mores girls here.

We washed clothes. Merrill hung them out. Got bill from anesthesia, $624. Got more cards and notes. Called Vern’s in evening. Finally got rid of drainage patch. No more drainage. Got weeks mail today.

Wrote Uncle Berl. Got car home from Joe’s, $91.45. Wheel bearing and universal joint. Vivian was over. Hot and muggy.

Merrill went for groceries. Rained all day. Wrote Dr. Roberts and sent card to Ruth Armstrong and sent $3 to Town and Country. Jim called in evening. Lou Rudes better and stable in Utica hospital from heart attack. Darcy and Joey gave me 3 little glass deer.

Beautiful day. Merrill cleaned church and mowed lawns here. Washed clothes. Hazel S, Cheryl, Vivian, Becky and Kathy here. Also Joey. Vivian brought squash casserole and brown bread. Very good.

Moved here three years ago today. Beulah Macklin’s birthday, 58 years. Kathy here. Brought me watermelon pickles. Jeanie Mae and Shirley here. Brought me sweet peas. Margaret K here. Brought beans and muffins. Elaine, Amanda, and Holly here. Paid Merrill for table.
