We went to Sunday School and church. The Risdale’s were here in morning. Jim, Pat and kids, Rose Petrie and the Bowman’s, 4, and Mrs. Mae Sequin here in PM. Jim’s here for supper. Nice day but cold wind.

A real nice day. Washed clothes. Merrill worked all day for Howard at other place.

We took 4-H kids to dress rehearsal, Gloria, Alison and Ginger. Had ice cream at Puffs. Went for free swim, 2-3 PM. Laura and Jana Cook also. Merrill went to Sackets for Jolie. We went to McDonalds. Merrill worked at Howard’s until 11. Called Gloria Collins, Real Estate.

Merrill cleaned stove pipes. Beautiful day but cold wind. Merrill worked at Howard’s all day. I cleaned house. Claire Ponzi and daughters, Carol and Jennifer here in PM.

Paul Freeman’s barn and house burned in morning. 50-55 cows burned. Carol Ponzi here to play with Jolie. Merrill worked at Halls. We went to Philadelphia for groceries.

We went out to Don’s. Juanita was working at church. Took Jolie home afterwards. Had supper at Jim’s. Talked with Eleanor. Stopped at Marg’s, Beulah’s, and Pauline Roggie, but no one home.

Sherry Barker and Thomas Slades wedding. Jamie Schell and Ronald Watts wedding. We went to Jamie’s. A large wedding reception at Legion. Roy John’s band played. Evelyn went with us.

Fast time begins at 2 AM. 28° in morning. Frigid wind. We went to Sunday School and church. Had covered dish dinner after church. Went for ride in PM. Stopped at Mrs. Beardsley’s. She is good. Wrote Uncle Berl in evening. Patty called.

Still cold, 28°. Cold all day. Mailed Uncle Berl’s letter. Ruth Schell called. She hurt her leg Sunday. Had 8 stitches. Also talked with Leah and Mrs. Cameron.

A little warmer. Washed clothes. Joe Claire and Carol Ponzi here in evening.

Boots and I went for groceries. Got B-12 shot at Marilyn’s. Got letter from Vern’s.

Merrill got letter about Fort Drum job class. 28°. Wrote Vern’s. Got letter from Angie. Merrill built fence all day. I went to UMW at Center in evening. 14 there. Betty Haggerty went home from hospital.

4-H Spaghetti supper. All members here. Carol Ponzi, 8 years joined. Merrill helped at Hall’s all day. Warmer today.

Sunday School paper drive. Merrill took papers up and cleaned church. I made meat balls and 3 kinds of cookies. Cloudy. A little rain early in morning. Has rained off and on. Washed clothes. 4-H Dress Review at Carriage House.

60° A beautiful day. Sat in sun all PM. Went to Sunday School and church, 92 out. Jim, Pat, and kids came for awhile in evening. Jim had PBA meeting in PM.

71° A beautiful day. Merrill built fence all day for us and also Howard. He helped fix Hall’s manure spreader. I cleaned porch and put plants out. Didn’t wash windows. Rained in evening.

Donna’s, 12 noon. Got my hair washed and cut. Rained off and on all day. Thunder storm in PM. Grass looking greener. Sent Patty and Jim anniversary card.

Jim and Pat’s 9th anniversary. Sent Mother’s Day card and letter to Mother T. Merrill worked on Howard’s spreader all day. They went for parts. Pat E here to use phone.

Mother and Daughter Banquet, 6:30. About 80 plus help. I helped set tables in PM. Got groceries. Merrill helped Howard with spreader. Got Mother’s Day card and note from Vern’s. Rev Janet Morris from Mills showed film.

Dr. Scanlon, 1:30, $17. Go back in 4 months. He said I don’t have much of the optic nerves left. Went to Jim’s for supper. We to Merrill Wamack concert at IRHC in evening. Wrote Angie. Merrill got hair cut.

4-H Walk-A-Thon. Merrill helped Howard all day. Warm, 70° but windy. I cleaned house. Washed. Got Mother’s Day card from Jim’s.

Kids gave me a beautiful mum plant. Mother’s Day. We went to Sunday School and church, 83 out. Nice sermon. Had late dinner at Jim and Pat’s. I stayed all night. Merrill went home for tonight. Helped Patty shorten 4 pairs of slacks in evening. Marilyn Payne’s 30th birthday.

Merrill mowed lawns for first this year. Merrill brought letter and picture from Uncle Berl. Patty’s 31st birthday. Jim and Pat go off for Police Convention about 8 AM. They called in evening. Merrill came to spend night. He worked at Ponzi’s. Rained about all day. I’m tired today.

Merrill worked at Halls. Nice in morning but turned cloudy. I washed 2 batches of clothes. Run cleaner and baked a cake. Jean was over in PM. Jolie didn’t come home for supper. Jim called twice. Merrill here in evening. Got letter for Civil Service test, May 31.

Raining some. Jill, Joel and I walked to Post office. June Risdale to see Merrill. Merrill came for night. He worked at Halls.

Aunt Maude had heart spell and went to hospital, didn’t stay. Patty’s father in Mercy hospital. Jim and Patty got home at 6:30 PM. Merrill came for supper. We came home tonight. Kids gave me dried flowers in watering pitcher and pecan roll. Dad a cereal bowl and mints. Kids glad to see their folks.

FFA. Merrill and I helped. Less than 80 this year. I made pumpkin pies and washed dishes. A beautiful day. Merrill helped Howard build fence. Hank Fikes, 72, shot himself. 4th one in the family to do it.

75°-80°. Kathy, Clay and Aunt Maude brought Stanley stuff. I am very lame today. Sent Don Gehm birthday card and letter. Boots and I went for groceries. Merrill helped Howard built fence all day.

We went to see David and Mary Dimon in evening. Rained during night. We went to Sunday School and church, 71 out. Aunt Maude went to Syracuse to see her sister. I’m very lame again today. Merrill mowed lawns. Horton’s here for hay. Jim, Pat, and kids here for supper, Also Carol Ponzi.

Don Gehm’s 67th birthday. Rev Cameron’s 65th birthday. Administrative Board meeting, 18 out. We had surprise birthday for Rev. Cameron after meeting. Gloria Collins called about houses. June Risdale here about farm. Called Dr. Roberts for an appointment.

A great summer day, 80°. I sat in sun. We looked at Garden Tea House and Carnival House at Philadelphia. Sent Ruth Schell card.

Another great day. I washed. Dyed and ironed living room curtains. Merrill went to Eberly’s to measure doors. Helicopter crashed at Fort Drum, 4 killed.

Boots and I went for groceries. Got B-12 shot at Marilyn’s. Merrill painted trim in AM. He worked at Eberly’s in PM, 2 Garage doors. Glenn, June and girls here in evening. They can get the money for our farm. I washed dining room curtains and woodwork. Jack Tousley, 56, died.

Wrote Don’s. Merrill worked at Eberly’s all day. June Risdale and Red Aiken here to check out things. Gloria Collins showed us Scrimmagar house. (Shorty Hills). Signed purchase agreement. We both felt at home there. Beautiful trees and lawns.

Merrill worked at Eberly’s in AM. Merrill mowed lawns. I sorted Jim’s stuff in closet. We took plants and lilacs to cemetery. Gloria called to say Mrs. Scrimmagar has signed purchase offer. June R and girls here in evening.

Turned water on at barn but no water. There is a leak somewhere. We went to church. Didn’t go to Sunday School. Rev. Pilbeam in church. Risdale’s here to plant their garden. Jim, Pat and kids here. We went to see our new house. Called Vern’s. Jack Tousley’s funeral at church. We didn’t go.

Hot. Very dry. We went to city and bought mower, rototiller, and 2 tires at K-Mart. They wouldn’t start. Risdale’s here in evening. June R’s 27th and Laura’s 8th birthday. We had cup cakes and ice cream. Vern called in morning to see if we need help with water.

Howard and Evelyn’s 26th anniversary. Still very hot. Took mower to get stated. Returned tiller. Got 8 water buckets and tractor battery at Agway. Ordered rototiller. Stopped at Bennett’s. Cindy and Ethan have 8 lb1 oz, baby boy, Tristan Everett Stewart.

Merrill’s Civil Service test, 8:30 AM. He bought rototiller at Nicholas, $269. Brought home lawn mower. He worked garden. I measured rooms at new house. Risdale’s here in evening. Got groceries and boxes at Big M.

Dr. Roberts at 2 PM. He took blood for lab tests. He started me on blood pressure pills. Said I was in much better shape than last visit. We went up to Don’s. Had dinner at Ken’s. Got plastic pipe for water to barn. Risdale’s here in evening. I started taking blood pressure pills.

Attorney Giles, 3:30 Mills. We went to see Carmon Palumbo at bank. Got tan shoes at Woolworth’s. June R here in evening. Vern’s called. Bill Meeks dug up water pipe by garage. Wrote Uncle Berl. Merrill worked at pipes.

Merrill used new riding lawn mower for first. Jim used it when they came. Merrill, Jim and Pat planted garden at Philadelphia. I kept kids. I’ve had terrible cramps from blood pressure pills. Larry white washed barn for Risdale’s.

Terrible leg cramps last night. Feel horrid today. We went to church. Risdale’s here to build fence. They may have buyers for their place. I quit taking blood pressure pills.

I’m very lame today. No cramps last night. wrote Dr. Roberts. Raining some. First time in ages. William Meeks dug up water pipe by garage. Down about 5 feet, no breaks. Merrill and I cleaned out store room. I’ve felt horrid all day.

Had Meeks dig up lawn toward house from side of evergreen trees. There was a break in elbow there. Pipe from spring came up to that spot, and then into cellar. Merrill got water back to barn. Went to Theresa and Mills for bucket parts. Risdale’s here. Also Carmon Palumbo.

Merrill worked at Eberly’s today on their garage doors. I sewed dresses, Mom’s. Washed clothes. Made cakes and pie plant. Clarence Giles called. Appointment Friday at Mills. Raining finally. Badly needed. Called Vern’s. They are coming Sunday.

Wrote Beulah Hall. Roy and Marg here all day. Merrill worked at Eberly’s awhile in morning. Risdale’s here in evening. I have a cold in my throat.

2:00 PM appointment with Giles, Mills. Made out purchase agreement on farm. Merrill worked at Eberly’s in AM. Got letter from Angie. Also Dr. Roberts. My throat is worse. June R here in evening

A beautiful day. Merrill went to Sunday School and church. I was coughing too much to go. Jim’s, and Vern’s here for PM and supper. Vern’s and us went to see our new home on their way home. June and Glen built fence. They ate supper with us. Danny stayed with us.
