Vern has all day meeting at Methodist Center on Folts Home. June, boys, Merrill and I went to city. Debby and baby went home today. We stopped at Aunt Maude’s and Kathy and David’s. Saw Clay for first time. Their home is so nice.

Beautiful day but still cold, 20°. Vern’s and us went to church. Jim’s came for diner with us. She started dinner and set table. They all left about 3 PM. Vern’s secretary’s mother passed away and they wanted to go to funeral home. Jim had to work on van.

Wrote Beulah Hall and Gehm’s. Beautiful day. We went to Adams. Went to Bangs [?] Real; Estate. Looked at house on N. Park Street. Had supper at Don’s. Saw Crystal Marie for first time. Brenda’s and Doreen there. Stopped at Beulah’s. Stopped at Marg’s. Talked with Pauline and Ken.

Washed clothes. A nice day but cold wind. Sent fire insurance, $231.35. and light bill, $74.24. Esther here to bring rubbermaid book.

-40° in morning. Wrote Angie and Uncle Berl. Sent him birthday card. Merrill plowed out lower driveway. Has been closed for ages. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Stopped at Mary’s.

Vern, June, and boys leave for Washington, DC. UMW’s at Vi’s. Rubbermaid party. I went. 16 out. Merrill helped Howard on building at Fort Drum all day. Risdale here in PM to take pictures.

4-H, only Ginger and Laura came. Uncle Berl’s 85th birthday. A nice day. We cleaned house.

Another nice day, 45°. Claire called to say Carol wouldn’t be going to Sunday School tomorrow. Charlotte’s sister is riding to Sunday School. Maybe Dale. Dix Pitkin’s barn burned on Brown farm in Lorraine.

Warm nice day. We went to church and Sunday School, 72 out. Vicky Jackson and Dale Hale went with us. We went to Jim’s for supper. Called Marion from Jim’s. They still haven’t their car.

Beautiful day. Washed clothes. Nancy Oliver Hopkin’s Home called about a home in Adams Center. Cleaned stove pipes.

Rainy. We went to Adams Center for hose for tractor, $7.30. Left Merrill’s 2 suits at cleaners. Got part for stove burner at Sears. $1.35. Got pictures at K-Mart. Terrible windy. Power off and on.

Snowing and melting. Got letter from Seaway Bank about farm. David Petrie called in evening about doing Fellowship room at church.

Sent Roberta card and note. Carmon Palumbo and June Risdale here to look at farm. We went for groceries. A nice day.

Roberta’s 26th birthday. Merrill helped Howard on building at Fort Drum. Dawn here with candy, 6th grade sale. Merrill got birthday card and letter from Uncle Berl. Washed clothes.

Party at Clarence’s and Mary Chamberlains, 20 there. Nice time. Lois and Joe went with us. Jim, Pat and kids here for supper. Merrill helped Howard at Fort Drum. Got note from June.

Snow Flurries last night. We went to Sunday school and church. 117 out. Baptism. Clay Todd Scott, Gary, Kris, Larry and Jerry. Also Karen Tousley’s two boys. Church widow is in bad shape. Merrill went up in evening to brace it. We went to Jim’s for dinner. Had party for Merrill. Cake etc. Gave him candy mints.

Beautiful day. Merrill got card and note from Vern’s and Gehm’s. PNG’s at Diane’s, 1:30 PM. I went. Merrill helped at Fort Drum building. Helped Howard get load after supper. Merrill got letter about Fort Drum job. I got family tree letter from Juanita Hogaboom, Harold’s wife.

Raining all day. We went to city and to Adams and Don’s. Got oil changed at Adams, Goslin’s. Beulah went to Don’s with us. Marg and Roy there. Brenda and boys stopped in with baby goat. I took Debby 2 packages of diapers. Merrill got cards from Marg’s, Leslie, and Mother T.

42°. Merrill’s 69th birthday. Got card from Ken’s. Sent Eleanor card and note. I haven’t felt good all day. Have the runs. Dean Webb has had 2 bad heart attacks. Is in ICU. David J brought sausage, FFA sale, $4.00.

Furnace quit. George Parker fixed it, $63.56. Needed new relay, etc. Merrill cleaned church on way to Fort Drum. He helped Howard after supper also. Howard gave him $75. We didn’t get around in time to go to communion at Mills. Washed clothes.

Good Friday. We went to church in evening. 55 there. Had flat tire in Philadelphia, new snow tire. Merrill got hair cut at Theresa. I made cinnamon rolls. We went for groceries. Got lily from MYF for Mother Tryon, $7.98.

Eleanor’s 50th birthday. Called Vern in AM. Got tire checked at Sears. Had to get a new one as snow tire had a cut from glass. Got to Wolcott about 11 AM. Kessel has another cancer on his head. Mother pretty good. We went to Vern’s for supper and spend the night. They gave him tan jacket for his birthday .

Jim and Helen Bush have baby girl, Amanda, In Florida. Easter Sunday. We went to church with Vern’s, Minetto. Very nice. Jim, Pat , Kids and Bob Puffer came to Vern’s for dinner. Good to be together. Rained all day. Got home at 6 PM. Started freezing. Juanita’s birthday, 49 and DWayne, 8th.

Cloudy, rainy day. Snowed hard in evening but quite warm. Administrative Board meeting. We went. Lots of plans made.

Rainy and snowy all day. Washed clothes. Quite warm. Merrill worked on water pipes. He has another cold.

Wrote Vern’s. We went to Philadelphia for groceries Left check at Murphy’s for fuel oil. Nice today.

Debby Golden Hall’s 25th birthday. 42° high today. We worked on income tax. Dean Webb had stroke. Dale Hale here selling Grit Paper for first time, 35 cents.

Dean Webb, 41 years, died about 10 AM. Graduated with Vern, 1954. Heart. Has daughter, Deanne 16. Merrill run cleaner. I ironed clothes. A beautiful day. 45°. we went to MYF movie at church, “He Restoreth My Soul” by Merrill Womack. Called Vern’s about Dean Webb.

45th wedding anniversary party at Lowville VFW for Uncle Len and Aunt Betty. A nice time and lots of family. Loren and Vera Strader over. Jim’s went. Came here for supper afterwards. Rainy.

David’s birthday, 24 years. A nice day but colder. We went to Sunday School and church. Went up to Webb’s in PM. Dean looked so young. Risdale family here in evening. Nice today.

Sent income tax and state returns. Paid $66.17 gas tax, $329 Social Security. I’ve felt horrid all day. Have cold. Cloudy day but warmer, 45°

We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Cloudy day.

A nice sunny day. We spent the day in Syracuse with Howard and Evelyn. Looked at cars. Merrill got new work shoes at North Tractor Supply, $21.

Got two $2000 Saving Certificates. Rainy. We went to Adams. Stopped at Bangs. Looked at Dr. Douglas house. Went up to Don’s. Oleta and James there. Don took Debby to Doctor. Crystal has been sick, eye, ear, and lung infection. Better now. 4-H but only Laura came.

Bob E started siding rest of church and Parsonage. Sent family tree book to Juanita Hogaboom. Had a call from Mrs. Hicks, Oxbow about farm. I made cheese cake.

We went to Sunday School and Church. Rev. Clyde Relyea, First Church, city preached. Rev. Cameron at City church. We went to Arts and Hum [?] chorus program at school. Very good. Called Jim’. He had meeting of PBA. Got B-12 shot.

Today would have been Dad’s 86th birthday. A nice day. Rebekah’s District Meeting at Lodge. I didn’t go. Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Hicks here to look at farm. Washed.

Rainy. Power was off from 8 AM to noon. Pole fire between Philadelphia and Mills. 4700 places out. David and Mary Dimon here to look over farm. Wrote Vern’s but mailman went early. Washed my hair.

Dad has been gone 18 years today. Mailed letter to Vern’s. Cloudy and windy. Ken and Eleanor fly to Orlando, Florida today. We went up to Aunt Maude’s at 9:30 to oversee insulation job. The CAPC did it free of charge for her. Had lunch with her.

Warmer 60° and windy. Merrill worked outside about all day. He put on summer tires. I washed clothes. I made cake and cup cakes. The insulation folks didn’t come to Aunt Maude’s.

We went up to Aunt Maude’s. They finished insulating her house. I baked beans, 1 apple and 2 pumpkin pies. Got groceries at Philadelphia. Rosie and Gloria here in evening.

4-H clothing evaluation at city. Alison, Ginger and Gloria go. They got blue awards. I have had a sore arm all day. Arthritis I guess. We went to Helmsman’s Concert at church in evening. Very good.

Frogs hollering for first time this year. Vern’s called. Boots 6th birthday. Jim, Pat, and kids here in PM and supper. Have colds. Farm appraiser and Risdale’s here in morning to go over farm. Risdale’s here in PM for tool list. Judy P collected for cancer drive. Merrill went to church. I didn’t go as I felt horrid all day.

I haven’t felt good all day. No work done. Merrill took stuff to dump. PNG’s at Zelda’s but I didn’t go.

Still feeling tired out. Made cookies. Merrill raked all Front yard. Looks so nice. He went to Philadelphia for milk. A beautiful day. Warm.

Raining all day. I feel much better today. We got card from Ken and Eleanor from Florida. Are having good time.

Still raining. Snowed in late evening. Washed clothes. Sorted magazines. Threw out a lot of stuff I’ve been keeping for years. Tired tonight.

We went to city. Had new alternator put on car at Sears, $60.93. Paid them for tire, $59.19. Got silver tray for Jamie S wedding gift. Got iron pills at Fays. Got groceries at Philadelphia.

Cleaned house. Merrill raked on lawns. Washed my hair. Got letter from Beulah Hall. She is feeling better but still at Geneva’s. We went to funeral home for Mrs. Picker with Mowers. They spent the evening here.
