We went to Lorraine. Don paid Merrill $200. Jim, Patty and kids came to see Mom. Rainy. Rained real hard all night. Uncle Lloyd about the same. Elvis Presley, 42, died of heart attack today.

Renewed Town and Country for 2 years, $4.. before August 20. We went out to Lorraine. I made apple pie and cupcakes for Mom. Also apple sauce. Got 3 bushel peaches at Johnnies, $6.75. Canned 7 quarts in evening. Got B-12 shot from Marilyn on the way home.

Stayed home today. Merrill drawed manure. I canned 7 quarts peaches. Cleaned house. Got letter from Uncle Berl. He is moving to a nursing home in Orange, California. Mrs. Cameron called. Just got home from Wyoming.

We went to Lorraine. Merrill finished Don’s garage. Marg and Roy came to see Mom. Beulah Hall called from Lois and Joe’s. She goes back Sunday. Mom got letter from Olive B.

Merrill mowed lawns. Wrote Debbie and Uncle Berl. Merrill drawed manure in PM. I worked in garden. Washed and canned 5 quarts tomatoes. Baked cake and cup cakes. Had fire in Ben Franklin all day. Temperature below 60° all day.

We went to church. Went to hospital. Uncle Lloyd no different. Went to Jim’s. Had supper there. Jill came home with us. David Dimon here in evening. Vern called in evening. Wants to use ladder brackets.

Rainy in AM. We went to Mom’s. Don and Merrill started front porch. Vern, June and boys up there in PM. Jill went out with us. Mom not as good.

Jim’s took home garden stuff. Karen’s 13th birthday. We didn’t go to Lorraine. Jim, Pat and kids here all day. We went to Antwerp funeral home for Clara Wallace, 86, Died of heart attack.

Marg called at 1:35 AM to say Uncle Lloyd had just died. We went to Lorraine. Went by Aunt Maude’s to tell her about Uncle Lloyd. Called Bowman’s from Mom’s. Called Vern’s and Art Haggerty in evening.

Went to Mom’s. Mom real sick. Vomiting. I called Dr. Myerdericks. Said it could be a blockage. We went to funeral home in evening for Uncle Lloyd. I stayed all night at Mom’s. Pat and Dorland at Don’s.

I stayed all night at Mom’s. Uncle Lloyd age 77 funeral at Adams. I stayed with Mom so didn’t get to it. Uncle Len, Aunt Betty, Art and Doris, Orv and Angie, 3 girls, Marion, Velum, Lorene Jean, Ivan and Bridget, Rev. Dave at Mom’s.

Vern and June’s 17th anniversary. Mom went to hospital in ambulance, room 449. I went with her. She had x-ray. They put in a drainage tube. Dr. Stone says she could go anytime. Called Vern’s. In her lungs.

We spent day at hospital. Beulah, Pauline, Garmon, Vern June and Boys and Don here. Mom not as good in AM. Called Marg, Ken’s still in Buffalo. Didn’t go to church.

We got to hospital in morning to find Mom much better. We went to bank at Adams. Opened new checking account for Mom’s money, $3000. Ken and Ed met us in Adams. Had lunch with them at Folina [?]. Vern called Mom also Ralph’s. Jim’s got home from Rochester. Don Gehm in hospital.

[Yesterday] Had Mom’s interest account put in Ken’s name until later, $16,254.23. [Today] Got to hospital about 10 AM. Jim and Pat and Don and Juanita there in PM to see Mom. Don and I talked with Mom about her affairs.

Talked with Mary. They took young stock home Monday, 22nd as they kept getting out. Wrote Uncle Berl. Sent Jim card. Mowed 2 lawns. Went to hospital about noon. We met Ken’s and Don and Juanita at bank. Mom deeded farm over to Don & Juanita. Lawyer at hospital. Olive, Elgin, Wilamina and Elfin at hospital.

Went to hospital alone. Fed Mom her lunch. She is very quiet. Dilly and Rev. Stewart there. Very hot and muggy. Rain and storms in late evening. Merrill finished lawns. Cut up wood.

Jim’s 34th birthday. He was in a police chase in early morning. Wrecked police car. We went to hospital. Don’s there. They are putting mom on extended care. We went to Jim’s for supper. He is sick with bug that Jill and Patty had.

Got school tax yesterday, $490.58 up $16.20. I went to hospital alone. Fed Mom her supper. She ate better. Merrill cut wood. I canned 7 quarts tomatoes in AM.

We went to church, only 39 there as some thought it started at 11:15. Not until after Labor Day. Gladys and Ted here in PM. We didn’t go to hospital today. First day we haven’t. Vern and June called in evening.

Labor Day. Telethon raised over 27 million. I was sick all day with bug. Called Mom’s room to tell her we wouldn’t be out. Rained.

Got B-12 shot from Marilyn. Aunt Maude went to hospital with us. Don’s and Pauline’s there also. School started here today. I took Mom bread and some of her Canadian honey from Bowman’s. She ate it all.

We went to hospital to feed mom her lunch. Went to Adams and Don’s. Got back in time to help Mom with her supper. Went up to WOTT to see contest signs. Ate at McDonalds. Wrote Olive. Rebekah President, State visit to Philadelphia

Wrote Vern’s. Merrill drawed manure pile. We didn’t go to hospital. I canned tomatoes and made pickles. Went to Philadelphia for groceries. Saw Vi. She said Martha and Dick were married last Friday night. September 2. Mary brought us corn. Lynn mowed hay.

We went to hospital at 11:30 AM. Got home at 7 PM. Mom’s not feeling very strong. Didn’t talk much. Merrill cut wood in morning. Got picture card from Uncle Berl’s new home. Got invitation to Art and Doris 25th anniversary. Dean Webb had heart attack.

I went to hospital alone. Merrill mowed lawns, threw wood down cellar. Lynn drawed hay across road. They moved Mom to room 410. Phone 785-4382. Debby got home from Texas. Came to hospital with Roy and Marg. Mom very thirsty.

Sunday School starts, Church at 11;15. We went to church. Sunday School picnic at Camp Wabasso. We didn’t go. We didn’t go out to hospital as boys planned to be with Mom.

Brenda and Bill’s auction. Merrill went to it. I spend day at hospital. I went to Pastor-Parish meeting at CEC. Only Thelma Scott came from Mills. Voted 7 1/2 % for Rev. Cameron salary raise.

We went to hospital. Mom sick all day vomiting. Merrill went to Jim’s. Had supper there. Rained hard all day.

Mom not as good. I stayed all night at hospital. Merrill stayed with me. I slept on couch. Merrill in chair.

Merrill stayed all night at hospital. Mom much weaker. Don’s and Jim’s here. Benjamin family at hospital all night also. Chapman. Marg and Roy stayed until 5 AM with me. Got strawberries and peas at Agway. Merrill took Jim’s peas and cauliflower.

Stayed at hospital all night. Ken’s here until midnight. Rained hard all day. Mom not as good in PM and evening. Called Mary H about 4-H exhibit.

FFA and 4-H Fair at school. Our club had exhibit. Girls and Mary and Joanne looked after it for me. Nice day. I went home and washed my hair. Showered etc. Washed clothes. Washed Mom’s dresses. Juanita and I stayed at hospital all night. Marg and Roy came to see Mom.

Jim left for police class at Saratoga. Merrill went to church. Came to hospital afterwards. Raining. Mom much weaker. Juanita, Pauline and Garmon at hospital all night with me. I came home to spend night. Juanita there.

Mom died at 8:30 AM. Juanita and Pauline with her. Garmon was asleep in camper. Benjamin girls there at hospital. Don, Juanita, Ken, Eleanor, Merrill and I went to Piddocks at 1 PM. Rev. Dave Bergner came to Don’s. Called Uncle Berl, Bowman’s, Patty, Arts, Vern called. Cloudy day.

Visiting hours 2-4 and 7-9. More at night than PM. We went to Beulah Macklin’s for supper. Vern’s came out here to spend night. June brought chili. Jim at police school at Saratoga. He feel bad he can’t come. Raining.

Mom’s funeral 2 PM at Piddocks. Large funeral. A lot of cars in funeral procession. Beatrice and Braynard, George and Nelda, Beulah and Garmon, and Loren and Vera over from Canada. About 60 here after funeral. Vern left at 7 PM. Roy, Marg, Ken and Eleanor rode home with him.

Tired today. Wasn’t out of the house all day or evening. Merrill cut wood. Still damp and cloudy. Ruth Eggleston and Mrs. Cameron called. Got several cards. Bowman’s sent $20 for Lorraine memorial fund.

We went out home. Ken’s there also. Got a lot of Mom’s affairs settled. Don, Juanita, Ken, Merrill and I went to Mrs. Olive Benjamin’s wake. She shared room with Mom at hospital, 410. Paid Piddocks $1960. I went to nominating committee meeting.

Jim, Pat, and kids here for lunch. Jim had tough course but he got 99 on test. First they have all been here in ages. Merrill cut wood. Got more cards. Sent school tax, $490.58. wrote Uncle Berl.

Jim goes back to police school at Saratoga at 4 PM. Raining still. We went to church, 76 out. We went to bed at 9:30. Took a bouquet of Mom’s flowers to church. Lynn paid Merrill for hay.

Raining. Cleared in PM. Merrill mowed lawns. I washed clothes. Administrative Board meeting. We went, 14 there. Wrote Vern’s. Got B-12 shot from Marilyn.

UMW District Meeting. 1st Methodist, City. I went with Margaret. Mrs. Cameron, Vi, Diane, Marilyn also. Nice. Carl Horton’s barn burned in evening. We went up soon as we heard. Terrible loss.

Raining all day. Went to Lorraine. We sorted Mom’s clothes. Too rainy for Merrill to work on porch. We went to Sackets for supper with Patty and kids. Jim called her to say he passed tests and is now a certified Police Instructor.

Beautiful day but only 60° I prepared and sent 4-H reports. Addressed thank you cards. Washed my hair. Merrill cut wood all day. Went to Beulah Adderly’s wake in evening. I forgot finance meeting.

Sent Vern card and $5. and letter. He postponed his birthday this year. Still raining. Had 4-H here. Only 5 out, 1 guest. Sent thank you cards. We went to city. Went to Doctors and Social Service office etc. for Mom’s affairs. Got slack suit.

Got card saying Pauline and Carl Cornish have baby girl named Tami Lynn. Got sympathy card from Debbie and Rick Golden. Baked cookies and pie. Raining all day. Merrill cleaned church and put in light bulbs. Bill and Brenda Draper moved to Bishop’s Farm.

We went to church. Communion. Jim, Patty, and kids here for dinner. They have colds. Marie, Lorraine and I decorated 4-H window at Donna’s. She went with us.

Rainy. A bear cub was around here this forenoon. Climbed light pole and 2 trees in front year. So cute. Black, 45-50 pounds. Washed clothes. Merrill took 4-H poster to Philadelphia.

Sun is out today for first in days. Sure looks good. Sent Marg card and letter. Merrill cut wood in AM. He has flue. Slept all PM. Couldn’t eat anything.
