Nice day. Sun shining. Merrill cut wood. I went to Rebekah Installation at Carthage with Esther, Lois drove me home as it was raining hard for me to see.

Got Blue on 4-H window. We went to Lorraine. I stopped at A.Cozzi to have stone lettered and numbered. Put Mom’s check, refund, in Adams bank. Debby and I went through stuff in desk. Juanita working at church. Talked with Eleanor, Mary, Beulah, and Patty. Called 4-H kids in evening. Got groceries.

Jim, Pat, Jill and Joel here for lunch. 4-H Achievement Night at General Brown. Only Lisa, Kim, Jody and Joanne went. Sent Mom’s doctor bill, ambulance fee, $20. and her Social Security check back. We went to Art and Doris party from 11-1. Evelyn and Jr. Hales band played.

First killing frost during night last night. Merrill went out to Don’s to work. I dug beets, cooked canner full. Rained in PM and evening. Brought plants in off of porch.

Still raining. Laity Sunday. Tracy R had service. Lazy day. Made pickled beets, 9 quarts.

Jim, Patty and kids here for lunch and supper. Patty and I canned beets. No mail. Columbus Day. Washed clothes.

Merrill went to Don’s. I canned beets. Washed clothes. Wrote Bowman’s. Sent Mother Tryon and Leslie letters.

Rebekah’s Installation. We went to Lorraine. Juanita making rolls for church supper. I didn’t get home in time to go to Rebekah’s.

Merrill went out to Don’s. Got windows in porch, and siding on. Ecumenical dinner at Legion. Margaret in charge. Celebration group sang. Very good. Sackets Harbor man called about heifers.

4-H here. 8 members present. Election of officers. Two new members. Ginger Johnson, Gloria Gleason. Folks from Clayton here to look at heifer. Merrill went to Don’s. Ralph Hogaboom at Don’s awhile.

Merrill cut wood. Nice day. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Judy Hill married today.

Rainy all day. We went to Sunday School and church. Trustee’s had meeting after church. Said to sell stove if Civic League wanted it. Give a donation for it.

Still raining. I baked pies and cake and brownies. Washed clothes. Merrill put on storm doors. He and Boots went to Agway to have winter tires put on. Snow at Barnes Corners.

World Series, 6th game against Dodgers. Got letter from Vern’s. Jim, Pat and kids here for supper. Jim got new chain saw. I went to Philadelphia for B-12 shot in PM. Merrill cut wood. Don Turner here with extension dues, $5 now.

4-H Leader’s Banquet. Northside Improvement League. We went. Jim and Jerry McGraw flew to Albany police meeting today. Nice day. Sunny and warm. Merrill worked at Don’s. Got letter from Olive Bowman. Norma Gee here with cards.

Wrote Vern’s. Merrill worked at Don’s. I dug carrots. Beautiful day. I went to Rebekah’s Installation at Theresa with Vi in evening. Foggy.

Wrote Beulah Hall. Merrill didn’t work at Don’s. He cut wood. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries.

Merrill worked at Don’s. Got cement poured in porch. I made out church conference reports. Cleaned house. They are having anniversary party for Orv and Angie, Marg and Roy next Sunday, the 30th.

Church conference at Evans Mills. We went for 6:30 supper and meeting. About 35 out. Mrs. Beardsley in hospital. Betty Haggerty went into hospital. Gave Aunt Maude Mom’s dish for Lyla.

Merrill cut wood. No mail. Last year Veteran’s day is in October. November 11th next time. Baked apple pie and apple crisp. Washed. Beautiful day. Sun out all day.

Sent Steve card, letter, and $5 check. Today is his 13th birthday. Merrill cut wood. Went up and looked at Dimon house. Went to Mills for feed. Took gift to Vi’s for Martha. Jim, Patty and kids here for supper. Brought us apples.

Jim starts new job as police instructor. Works 9-5. Saturday and Sunday off. We went to Don’s. Juanita, Debby and I went down to Brenda’s new farm. Has been years since I have been to Bishop’s farm. Cindy and Ethan getting married in November

Very foggy. Merrill went to Don’s to work. Wrote Vern’s. Sent Secret Pal Halloween card, Minnie Dyer. Sent Mom’s last payment and hospital bill, $125. Canned 7 quarts of carrots. A beautiful day, 70’s

Another great day. Boots and I went for groceries. Merrill cut brush on pasture line fence. I canned 7 quarts of carrots. Finally got my bill from hospital for my broken toe, $24.70. Lyle Hamilton here to look at heifers. Merrill dug dahlias.

4-H Halloween party at Alison E. About 18 there. Nice party. We went out to Don’s. Merrill finished porch. Marg called me there to say Betty Haggerty went home from hospital yesterday. Orv and Angie’s 44th anniversary.

Anniversary party for Orv and Angie, 44 years and Marg and Roy, October 30 48 years, at Mannsville We went to Sunday School and church. Then to Jim’s for lunch. Aunt Maude went with us. We went to Mannsville with Jim and Patty. Nice party. David Dimon here in evening.

Merrill drawed wood. I washed clothes about all day. Beautiful day, 63°. Chain saw spring broken. Merrill took it to Mills. About 18 kids here in evening. Nice night.

We went to Don’s. Nice day. Juanita and I went up to cemetery. Beulah had date put on Uncle Lloyd’s monument. Man was there from Pulaski.

Warm. Rained some. Mary here in AM. Said Pat Brancatella, his father, and father-in-law were here yesterday, but we were out to Don’s. Merrill went to Don’s today. I washed sheets. Baked beans and cookies.

UMW at Margaret Keichel’s, 18 out. Merrill cut wood. Boots and I went for groceries. Beautiful day, 79°. Sold 3 heifers to Llye Hamilton, $850.

4-H here. 4 members and 3 guests. Norma Payne Gee here also. She is starting a boys club. Vern, June and boys got here at 1 PM. Vern had meeting at city in AM. David and Kathy VanTassel have baby boy, Clay David.

PBA Show, Lynn Anderson. Vern’s left at 6:15 for home. Vern had all day Lay Speakers meeting at city. Merrill and boys cut wood.

We went to hospital to see Mildred Beardsley. She went to hospital September 10th. We went to Sunday School and church, 77 out. Ate at McDonalds. Had supper at Jim’s.

Sent $1 to TB and Seals and American Bible Company. Wrote Mrs. Beardsley’s foster son in California, Bob Tagaw. We went to Don’s. They signed consent for Cindy and Ethan to marry this PM. I paid $22 for putting 77 on Mom’s monument, A Cozzi. Rained about all day.

Election. We went at noon and were numbers 97 and 98. Raining all day. I washed clothes. Got wedding invitation from Cindy and Ethan. Wrote Uncle Berl. O’Neil elected sheriff.

Got letter from Leslie. We went to city shopping. Merrill bought his Christmas present, router. Got brown boots. Got 2 large drip pans for stove. Did some Christmas shopping. Called Patty. Jim got home from 2 day hunting trip last night. Went to new K-Mart store. Got B-12 shot from Marilyn

Sent 4-H enrollment and reports to 4-H office. Sent plan for year’s work. Made three apple pies for freezer. Washed clothes. Merrill cleaned stove pipes.

Dr. Scanlon, 1:30 canceled. Cindy Hanson and Ethan Stewart married at 10 AM, Adams Methodist Church. We went. A beautiful wedding. They went to camp for weekend. I went to Marilyn Payne’s shower with Evelyn. Hall’s bought house trailer.

Ground white this morning with first snow fall. Leslie’s 63rd birthday. Sent him card yesterday. We cleaned church. Got groceries. Oswego and Buffalo got 6 inches of snow. Jim, Patty and kids here for lunch. Left about 4 PM.

Snowed during night. Lots more at Philadelphia than here. We went to Sunday School and church. David and Mary Dimon and Karen, 3 1/2, and Shirley 1 1/2 here most of day. Gave Aunt Maude gift for Kathy’s baby, sleeper.

Merrill cut wood. I washed clothes. I put contact paper by sink cupboards. Cold but sunny.

Agway dinner. Had 460 @ $4.50. Cleared $711.00 Merrill and I both helped. Evans Mills people want in on it with us this year for first. Rainy.

Merrill went out to Don’s to work. Bill there plowing. Rained in late PM and evening.

Rained about all day and evening. We went to Philadelphia for groceries and to Theresa bank.

Dr. Scanlon, 1:30. We went to city all day. Snowed at Mills and city. My eyes no worse. Go back in 6 months. Did Christmas shopping. Went to Jim and Pat’s for supper. Jim and Kenny went hunting for weekend tonight. Pat and kids have colds.

Hank and Marion Schell’s house badly damaged by fire about 1:30 AM. Water damage and hole through roof. Called Vern’s. I got letter from them and Marg and cards. Washed clothes. Merrill put wood down cellar.

We went to Sunday School and church. 76 out. Gave $25 to Folts Home building fund. We went to city in PM. Called Patty. Elaine and Olive called in evening. All are well. Got glass for coffee maker.

My 60th birthday. PNG’s at Marguerites. Vi, Mary, and I on with her. Had salad and rolls. 16 there. Mary made birthday cake. Elsie 90, Lois 64, and me 60. We went to Don’s. Ken’s there. Got Mom’s money divided. Stopped at Manor. Got card and letter from Uncle Berl.

Debby’s 18th birthday. Nice day. Cut my hair. Hemmed black skirt. Wrote Vern’s.

Baked apple pie and brownies. Cleaned house and living room rug Merrill run cleaner. Called 4-H kids about skating party. Went to Philadelphia in evening for groceries. Service at Catholic church, Mills, but we didn’t go. Snowed in evening.
