Vern’s to city to church meeting. 8-12. They left for home about 3. Stopped at Jim’s. Jim called. Patty sick with bronchitis. Merrill’s side hurting him.

We went to Sunday School and church. Good to be back to it. We went to Sackets in PM. Patty and kids better. Marilyn gave me B-12 shot. Stopped after church and paid Percy Pratt. Stopped at Mrs. Beardsley’s on way home. Snowing in PM and evening. Merrill’s side better.

Dr. Scanlon, 1:45 postponed. Merrill got birthday card from Uncle Berl. Lettie not good. PNG’s at Esther’s. I didn’t go. Lynn killed beef. Merrill cut wood. Vern’s called in evening. Wrote them letter.

Merrill’s 68th birthday. Very snowy all day. Over 5000 homes without electricity in evening. Ours out for 2 hours. We had supper at Rev. Cameron’s. They gave Merrill wall plaque. Merrill got cards from Pitkin’s, and Gehm’s. Roads terrible in evening.

14 inches of wet, heavy snow over night. Most schools closed. Merrill got cards from Ken’s and Grace M. Merrill plowed driveways. Bright day.

Dress Review, 7 PM. State Office Building. Called Maureen, Dot and Donna Scee Buckland. We went to Sackets for girls for weekend. Paid Mom’s bill and Dr. Stone. Had my glasses checked. Got hypo stuff.

Jim and Pat left for Police Convention, 9 AM. The Pines at Monticello, NY. We went out to Mom’s. All good out there. Got groceries on way home.

Made cake and pies. Mr. and Mrs. Tripp and 2 boys, Adam 2 1/2 and Jason 8 months, here to see about renting land. Merrill and Jolie went over to Halls. Merrill told Tripps rent across road for $500.

We all went to church, 67 out. Jim and Patty got home here about 8:30. Picked Joel up first at Kenny and Brenda’s. Martha Meeks came to Vi’s.

Administrative Board. 4 there. Aunt Maude went to city hospital, House of the Good Samaritan. Raining. Merrill cleaned. I mopped kitchen. Alice F is back to Philadelphia.

Lynn Hall cut up beef. Didn’t get started until afternoon. Jim’s here for lunch and supper. A beautiful spring day. In 60’s. Aunt Maude had 14 x-rays. She is in room 401.

84°. Thunderstorms in evening. Merrill went to Emergency room. He has a hernia. Saw Aunt Maude. She has to have esophagus stretched later. Have to send to Chicago for instruments.

Wrote Vern’s. Sent $6.30 to Roche Labs for my blood work, CBC. Wrote Uncle Berl. Raining some but ice day. We were invited to card party for Grange at Leah’s in evening. We didn’t go.

Merrill’s appointment, Dr. Gardner, 2:45. He has to go to hospital Wednesday if they have a bed. We went to see Aunt Maude at hospital. She can’t come home Saturday.

I went to 4-H Fashion Review at Carriage House with Lorraine and Mary. Very nice. Merrill cleaned church alone. Wrote Vern’s.

We went to Sunday School and church, 76 out. Each were give a palm. I have cold.

Lawrence called at 6:30 to say Aunt Keitha, 81, died about 4 AM. Dilly called later in morning. I called Art Haggerty. Merrill, Boots and I went to Agway for pipe fixture. Mom called in PM. She’s not too good.

Jim called. He went to funeral home in Dexter. UMW at Martha Brown’s. I didn’t go. Vern’s called in evening. Are coming Friday. Washed clothes. Washed my hair. Rainy. Merrill and Boots went to Theresa. Merrill got bedroom slippers at Pearls, $5.35.

Aunt Keitha’s funeral at Dexter. We went. A very large funeral. We didn’t go to Calcium. Merrill went to hospital after funeral, room 241. Got Easter cards from Vern’s. Aunt Maude got home from hospital.

Merrill had hernia operation at 1:30. Was 2:30 when he got back to room. I went to hospital at 7:30 AM. Jim and Pat brought me home at 8:30. Howard did chores in evening.

Very stormy. Snowed hard during night. Vern’s got here about 1 PM. Their gas tank leaked so they rented a car. They stopped at hospital. We all went out in evening. Merrill real good. Been up 3 times. Ken and Brenda there also. Called Mom. She’s feeling better.

Vern and June and I went to hospital in PM. They stopped on way home also to leave Merrill water. Jim’s here most of day also. Jim and boys got wood. Patty cleaned house. Looks so great.

Easter Sunday. A beautiful day. I didn’t go to church. Spent day at hospital with Merrill, 11 AM to 4 PM. We talked with Gladys and Lamon. Watched “The Ten Commandments” on TV in evening, 4 1/2 hours long.

Jim’s brought Merrill home from hospital at 10 AM. A beautiful summer day. Everyone out doors working all day. 72°

Mom’s appointment with Dr. Myerdericks. Eleanor called. She has another abscess. Jim’s here for supper. They did chores. I got B-12 shot at Marilyn’s. Merrill rode up to Philadelphia. 73° again today.

Wrote Mother Tryon. I have felt horrid all day. Not much done.

Dr. Gardner, 2:30 PM. Nurse took out Merrill’s stitches. Got blades for spreader $21. I went to Rebekah’s District Meeting with Esther at Theresa. 38 there. Betty Rudes new DDP.

Vern called in morning. They are coming Sunday for dinner. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Paid phone bill. Baked cookies and donuts.

We went out to Mom’s all day. She isn’t too good. Has a lot of pain at tip of spine. Merrill fixed window for her.

We went to church, 76 out. Vern’s came about 1 P. They cleaned the barn. Got down hay. Orv and Angie here in PM. Also Lynn and Mary Hall. Patty called.

Beautiful day. I cleaned on lawns. Merrill burned old hay. Pat Brancatella had his barn painted. First time ever. Jim and Kenny Rudes here for lunch. They gave lesson on child abuse at IRC at Philadelphia.

Another beautiful day, 72°. Cleaned on yards. Washed clothes. Jim called. They can’t come out as Jim had to go to Hockey Banquet.

New York State 200 years old today. I finished cleaning lawns. Merrill helped a little this PM on them. Merrill went to Gouverneur with Lynn to get brushes on tractor generator, $12.50. Cloudy.

A nice day but some clouds. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. I threw down hay for first time. Merrill cleaned barn. Jane and Robert Mowott have baby boy, Justin.

Merrill took car to Gouverneur. Had points and plugs installed, $40.39. Called Jim not to come. I got down hay. Wrote Beulah Hall.

Sunday School paper drive. Had 9 ton. We went out to Mom’s. She is in constant pain. got Summer tires put on at Agway. Got tractor voltage regulator at Adams Center, $11.95.

Went to Sunday School and church. 63 out. Raining all day. Fast time started at 2 AM.

Lula’s 87th birthday. IOOF had meeting with John Goslin and DDP at city. He came for charter but didn’t get it. I baked cake and cookies. Merrill cleaned floors. Got letter from Lettie Wood.

Rainy. Lynn here. Got 75 bales hay, 60 cents a bale. Jim, Pat and kids here. Jolie stayed. They brought us long grate for Ben Franklin stove. Jim cleaned barn. Got down hay, etc.

Rebekah’s. Howard bought dumping station, $300. Played with Jolie all day. She has a cold.

Lynn got hay. Merrill put in dump station for Halls. We all went for groceries in morning. Jolie and I went over to Lorraine B. Only she, Tony and Angie there. Rest in New Jersey. Got letter from Uncle Berl and Beulah Hall.

Merrill went to city with Halls. took tractor starter for repairs, $22.95. Also got points and plug for lawn mower. Jolie went over to Dawns with Merrill. Baked cake and cup cakes.

Another nice day. We cleaned church. Car not working right. Called Patty in evening. Jim lost gas tank off van.

We went to Sunday School and church. Jolie enjoyed it. She wore long dress Aunt June got for her. Called Mom. Jim’s came after Jolie. Here for supper. Beautiful day. We went to evening service. Rev. Johnson in charge, about 30 out.

Cleaned at CEC all day. Marilyn, Margaret, Noreen, Sina and Vi also. Raining in morning. Margaret said Jane Keichel Mowott and Bob have a baby boy, Justin Robert about 7 pounds born April 21. Marilyn gave me B-12 shot.

A nice day but cool wind. Washed clothes and bedding. Cleaned our bedroom upstairs. Pauline Roggie called. She took Mom to Dr. Thompson at Adams Center. Uncle Lloyd not too good. He’s bleeding.

Aunt Maude’s doctor appointment. Uncle Lloyd goes to doctor Plumpton. Mom called in evening. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Called Aunt Maude. She goes to hospital next Tuesday, 10th.

Merrill’s appointment with Dr. Gardner, 2:30. All OK. Not to lift real heavy things for 10 days yet. My appointment with Dr. Scanlon, 2:15. $17. I don’t have to go back for 6 months. Called Marion. Mother and Daughter Banquet. Ellen Johnson speaker. Merrill helped in kitchen. Big crowd 125.

4-H here. Made cream puffs. 8 here, plus Patsy. Judy Payne here. Mowed lawns for first this year. Got several Mother’s Day cards from kids. Wrote Uncle Berl. Merrill and Lynn built fence.

Merrill and Hall’s finished pasture fence. Lynn brought down 10 head of heifers to pasture. Merrill finished further lawn. I washed clothes. Baked cake.
