We went to hospital. Jim had his knee operated on. Dr. Peckham said it went well. They x-rayed Jim’s shoulder. Don was brought into hospital while we were there. He fell on ice and broke his hip. Dr. Witherington operated on him. Also gave him blood transfusion. All went well. Vern and June at hospital. Also Ken and Esther. Several people called on phone.

Very foggy morning. We went to hospital about 10:30. Jim hurting bad. They got him up but he went right back to bed. Don doing great. They put him in room 430. He was in private room. He had blood transfusion after his operation. Merrill went to trustee meeting. Helen Kiechle and Vern called in evening.

Cooler, 22° this morning. Wrote Dan and Robin. Sent Dan card, and $10.00. We went to hospital in PM. Jim’s shoulder paining terrible. Niles Busler, Theresa, in bed beside Jim in room 346. Merrill took Sue home to Diamond and spent the night. I came home with Linda Belile. Don doing okay. Gave him another blood transfusion. Can go home last of week. Dr. VanEnamen in to see Jim in evening.

Dan’s 27th birthday. Merrill dropped Sue off at work and got home about 11 AM. Saw Jim on way. Took him down street for MRI. Showed damage to ligaments and vertebras. Dr. Owen on case. Jim’s neck injury came close to causing him to be paralyzed. We have so much to thank God for. Gary Belile came home by ambulance. Merrill went over. Joey was home but Linda delayed at drug store.

Very stormy. We didn’t get to see Jim and Don. Debby took Don to Jim’s room to see him. Talked with Jim twice. They fitted him with new head and neck prosthesis to hold neck firm. Dr. Owen on case. Says it will take time and Jim is to move as he can. His knee coming okay. Took off large cast. I made chocolate chip cookies. I called June in evening. Vern at class. School closed there today because of storm.

Much colder, cold wind. We went for groceries in morning. We went to hospital to see Jim and Don. Donnie in ER with kidney stone. Saw Arlene Moore at hospital. Jim got new large neck brace. They put him on an air mattress and air machine for his circulation. Jim walked to hallway for first. Juanita and kids all at hospital but Brenda and Cindy. David talked to Don about getting farm. Hope all goes well.

Back to 0° this morning. Cold all day. Sunny to 10°. Washed clothes. Elgin and Carmi called in evening. Vern called. Talked with Jim twice. He’s getting out of the hospital tomorrow.

Jim called from cabin. He’s doing okay. Plans to stay at cabin. Sue is taking off work. Debby stopped by on way home. Dawn called about farm. June paid part of taxes. Juanita got Power of Attorney for Don. We went to Administrative Council meeting in evening.

Nice sunny day. I called Jim in morning. We went to cabin to see Jim. Sue at work. Mike there. He’s doing okay. Getting a new lounge chair to sleep in. David goes to lawyer about farm. (Sandy Creek) We stopped to see Don at hospital. His breathing not right. Will Draper there to see him also. I called Beulah from hospital.

World Day of Prayer Service at Baptist church this year. Vi and I went. Merrill stayed with Bill. Good turn out. Philadelphia and Antwerp churches. I called Jim. He’s doing okay. His new chair works fine. Sue home until next Wednesday. I called Sue and Jim from Don’s room. We went to hospital to see Don. He seem good today. Back on therapy twice a day. Juanita, Debby, and Shirley there.

Merrill went with trash. Washed clothes. Nice day.

Up to 50°, beautiful day. We went to church, 39 there. Called Jim in PM. He’s doing okay. Talked with Vi. My arthritis bad.

Temperature up to 47°. Jim’s appointment with Dr. Peckham, 9:30 AM. Jim called in evening. He has to go to Syracuse to see a doctor about his neck Wednesday. Two vertebrae out of place. His knee is coming good. To start using it some. raining in PM and evening. My arthritis bad.

We went to cabin to see Jim and Sue. Wind blowing, snow, and some snow flurries. Sun out part of time. Stopped at hospital to see Don. He’s going home Friday. David there with papers to sign selling him the farm. I have sore toe. Can’t wear my shoes.

Jim to Syracuse. He called in PM. Will go to Syracuse for operation next week. Rebekah’s. Bill stayed with Merrill. I went with vi. Rev. Carol here. She is leaving Philadelphia church in July for Strattsburg, NY.

Got almost a foot of snow over night. Merrill cleaned driveways. I called Vern’s in morning. Couldn’t get them last night. Linda Belile went to work today. I wrote Trerise’s in Florida. Sent for Times for 6 months, $78.00

2° in AM. I called Jim. He goes to hospital next Tuesday at State University of NY Health Science Center. [Upstate] Operation is Wednesday. We went for groceries. Don went home from hospital. Been there since Feb. 20th, 20 days. Church roast beef supper. Merrill brought ours home. $5.50, made $668.00. Jolie called. Her new phone number is 785-8135. President Clinton coming to Fort Drum on Tuesday.

I washed clothes. Sunny. Up to 37°. Merrill took garbage. I called Juanita. Don doing good. Glad to be home. Vivian Trerise called from Florida in evening. 80° there.

Pick up offering for Sue. We went to church, 47 there. Snowy and rainy. Martha at Vi’s. She and Allen have separated. I called Jim. Jill and Joel there. I called Vern’s. He is taking Jim to hospital on Tuesday.

Jim enters Upstate Hospital in Syracuse. Goes in before 1 or 1:30. He called in morning, 8:30. Vern already there. Snowing up there. Jolie called with Jim’s room, #7324, phone 464-9286. Operation at 10:30 AM tomorrow.

Jim’s operation on his broken neck, 10:30 AM. Dr. Fredericks. Sue called about 1 PM. Jim in recovery. All went well. Renee and June there. Called Jim in evening. He’s still groggy but doing okay. Talked with June. She and Vern at hospital. PPR meeting with district Superintendent, Dave Geer, 7 there. My 8th time on PPR to choose a new pastor. Gary Belile went to Dr. Had seizures yesterday.

Some sun. Snowy and cold, 18°-24°. Merrill cleaned driveway. Vern called. He took Sue to hospital this morning at 9 AM. Jim had bad night. He is allergic to his pain medicine and vomited several times. They are making him a new neck brace.

Sunny. I called Jim in morning. He has bad headache. He is getting out of hospital tomorrow. Merrill got birthday cards from Gloria and Roger. Also Beulah M. Beulah sent letter. Washed clothes. Baked cake and cupcakes.

Jim get out of hospital. Got home about 10:30. Vern took him to cabin. He was tired but sounded good. I called Beulah. Vern called in evening. Stopping by tomorrow. Windy.

We went to church, 50 there. Called Jim. Vern and June here in PM and for supper. Gave Merrill nice raincoat for his birthday. Trerise’s got home from Florida. Helen Kiechle called.

Merrill’s 85th birthday. He got lots of cards. I’ve been tired all day. Too much weekend. It is in Times tonight that Jill Tryon and Jan Coburn are suing for $200,000 in accident damage against Kristen Rigabar and her mother Linda Rigabar.

Wet snow and rain. We went to church, 77 out. Lorraine’s baby girl, and Sharon’s twins baptized. Sunday School had Easter egg hunt. My arthritis really bad today.

Dr. Kayani, 3:30. He said he would operate on my cataract later. Went to Pharmhouse. Saw Cheryl there. PPR meeting, 7:00 PM. Committee all there but Doris. She is in Florida. District Superintendent Geer has a candidate for us. Elaine White, about 45. She’s from down near Pennsylvania border. Sue’s doctor appointment in Syracuse. They still won’t let her drive.

Jim called. He is at Renee’s. He has to start therapy on his knee at Mercy Hospital Friday. goes 3 times a week for whirlpool therapy. He goes to Syracuse April 15 for check up. PPR meeting 7 PM. We got to meet Rev. Elaine White. She’s nice and will be our new minister. Takes over July 1.

Windy. Holy Week. We went for groceries in AM. We went to church at Mills in evening, 7:30. Quite a few out. 10 from Philadelphia.

No school. Pauline Roggie called. Donna Barney to have gall bladder operation, 6th. Jim called from mall. He’s there for knee therapy at Mercy Hospital. He has to go three times a week for whirlpool therapy.

Party for Vivian at Clearview. We didn’t go, 50°. Lyla called. Jim called. Five of them coming tomorrow. Merrill went over town. Took gift to Vivian and stopped to see Gary. I got stuff ready for tomorrow. Washed.

Fast time begin at 2 AM. We didn’t go to Sunrise Service and breakfast. Went to church, 87 out. Communion. Snowing hard when we got out of church. Jill called from Myrtle Beach. Hot there. She laying on the beach. Jim, Sue, Ashley, Jolie, Shawn Michael, and Jeff Nadelen (?) here for dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Cha here in evening. Joel working. Cliff brought Jim’s out.

Warmer. Partly sunny. Much better than yesterday. I washed tablecloths and white clothes.

Cloudy all day but warm 60°. Merrill went over and stayed with Bill while Vi went to city for medicine for him.

Rainy, snow flurries, colder., Dr. Stark, 1:30. Took blood tests. Also gave me Hema-chek to do. Blood pressure 137/80, weight 150. I have lost 2 pounds since last visit. Gary Belile went for treatment by ambulance. We called Vern and June in evening. They had a good trip to Dan and Robin’s.

Everything buried in snow again. Some schools delayed. Will winter ever end? UMW at church, 7:30. 8 present. We had week of Prayer and Self Denial program. Good. Merrill stayed with Bill in evening.

Warmer today. They took Gary Belile by ambulance to hospital at 10:00 last night for treatment. He is running a temperature. They admitted him. Howard and Evelyn Hall called in PM. They got home from Florida last week.

Merrill took trash. I washed clothes. We went for groceries in PM. Vivian’s called.

Surprise party for Alice Flaherty at church. Zachary LaClair, 10 months, baptized. Alice was surprised. About 100 out to church. All very nice. A great day. 51°.
