40° Cloudy and rainy. President Bill Clinton visits Fort Drum. We watched it on TV. All very nice. Here to thank the troops for Somalia and Florida Hurricane workers. Jim enters Upstate Hospital in Syracuse. Goes in before 1 or 1:30. He called in morning, 8:30. Vern already there. Snowing up there. Jolie called with Jim’s room, #7324, phone 464-9286. Operation at 10:30 AM tomorrow.
