I made cookies. Raining all day. Got letter from June and Vern’s. Vern drives to Albany for rest of week.

We went for groceries. I finished Charge Conference report. Typed it.

Cloudy, rainy day. Got birthday card and letters. Washed bedding.

My birthday, 64. My arthritis real bad. Kept me awake last night. Jim, Pat, and kids here in PM. Didn’t stay for supper. Brought me box of candy and cards. Got more cards. Got nice letter from Uncle Berl.

Debbie’s 22nd birthday. We went to church, 81 out. Nice holiday service. Tracy sang. Spent PM writing letters to Gwen Dowell, Ella Dranicki [?] and Cameron’s. Talked with Gladys and Sandy on phone. Ed Fagan is coming home.

Open house at school. Nice day but cold and windy. We went to store for turkey. Ron gave $7.90 off for free turkey. I got a 22 pound one. Butter basted. Merrill worked at Horton’s putting in windows.

Administrative Board meeting here. 11 present. Good meeting. Merrill cleaned house.

No Lodge. Got stuff ready for supper and dinner tomorrow. Made chili and salads. Merrill cleaned church. Changed box on fans. Vern, June, and boys got here about 5:20. We all went to church in evening at Philadelphia, 65 out. Nice.

Thanksgiving. Just Vern’s and us. Patty called. Jim sick with cold. Col. and Mrs. Goff and kids moved yesterday. Jim and Sherrie Percell got their house.

Robbins cleaned our furnace, $30. Washed clothes. Merrill finished wiring fans at church. I have cold in my lungs. Coughing a lot.

Cold. We went for groceries. Washed curtains. Horton’s and Merrill set up Manger at church. They decorated church.

Beautiful day. Merrill went to church, 81 out. I was coughing too much. Didn’t get dressed all day. Cold on my lungs. Karen Hanson at conference All State Music Concert at Concord Hotel today through December 2. She plays clarinet.

My cold some better. Washed curtains. Merrill washed woodwork in dining room and kitchen. He put wood down cellar.

I’ve felt terrible all day. Didn’t even get dressed. Marty brought over home made candy.

Feel better today. Merrill cleaned living room woodwork. I washed curtains.

UMW Christmas meeting at Margaret K. 18 present. Collected over $30 for missionaries. Double over $60. Merrill cleaned bathroom. Washed clothes. My cold better but still coughing a lot. Got first Christmas card from Ponzi’s.

Nice day. We went for groceries. I stopped at parsonage and left reports. I made pan of fudge for church bazaar. Merrill went to Carthage with Howard.

Church Christmas Bazaar at Fire Hall. I made 4 pounds of marshmallow fudge for it. Merrill went to dump. Washed colored clothes. My cold still bad.

We went to church, 86 out. Nice service. Nice day but very cold wind. No company today.

Merrill washed dining room and kitchen ceilings. Put up Christmas decorations. We went for groceries. Got box of chocolates for Genny and Nancy. Merrill has cold. Pearl Harbor Day, 44 years ago.

Cleaned our bedroom. Washed bed and kitchen curtains. Snowing. Ground white.

Rebekah’s Christmas party, 7 PM, covered dish. $2-3 gift for exchange. 14 present. Nice supper. Leah had my name. I had Vivian’s. Gave her Christmas bells.

Charge Conference, Evans Mills. About 20 there. Margaret and Marilyn went with us. Ray M and Horton’s there for meeting. Roy’s 78th birthday. Washed. Snowy. Merrill helped Carl get Manger lights working.

Our 46th anniversary. We met Vern’s at city. Had delicious dinner at Sam’s Restaurant. Went to Islanders Christmas concert at State Office Building. They sang Happy Anniversary to us. Had anniversary cake when we got back home. A very nice celebration.

Vern’s left about 9:30 AM to shop at city. Jim’s here for supper. Jim went to Rudes. June R called. Mrs. Hale had operation at Crouse Irving, Syracuse yesterday. Jim and Pat gave us new kitchen curtains.

We went to church, 92 out. Had coffee and sandwiches. Mr. and Mrs. Gill there. Mr. Gill sang and played several songs.

Warmer, washed clothes. Got more Christmas cards. Merrill’s cold bad.

We went to city. Did Christmas shopping. Got new dining room curtains with money church people gave me while I was in hospital. Got several cards and notes.

My arms bad today. Merrill helped Carl and Cheryl set up tree at parsonage. Colder. Got several cards and notes. Sent first Christmas cards.

Sent several more cards with letters. Sent Uncle Berl $15 check. Carl S called twice. He talked with Florence in evening. Ralph’s foot bad. Wrapped Christmas gifts in evening.

We went for groceries. Made fudge and Christmas cookies. Patty called. She saw Juanita, Debby and kids in city. Baby weighs over 7 pounds now. Doing good and cute.

Cold, 8°. Decorated Christmas cookies. Merrill run cleaner. Hemmed door curtain. Harley Eastman, 27, Judy Roggie’s ex husband, killed in truck accident. Amy Piper engaged to Hudson boy, Ellisburg.

Sunday School program. Very nice. Good turn out to it. Gave Rev. and Mrs. Barnes $100. We went to church, 82 out. Patty called. Joel not feeling good. Very cold all day. Below zero at night.

Packed shut-in boxes. I didn’t help. Merrill visited Hartford [?] Kavanaugh. Aunt Maude and Cheryl here in evening. Brought us gift and candy. Got nice card and note from Beulah. Ed Fagan returned from Johnson Island on sick leave.

Snow blower at church broke. Randy and Merrill fixed it at Horton’s. Got card, note and Karen and Donnie’s pictures from Don’s. Gave Belile and Paro kids snowman suckers.

Didn’t go to Lodge. Raining. Sent cards and notes to Don and Ken’s. Showered, washed my hair. Got more cards and a note from Mary Hall.

Candlelight service at Mills. We went. 30 from Philadelphia there. Good crowd. Very nice. Had our gifts in evening. I got watch, Merrill shoes, belt and ties. Grace Tryon called. Carl has leukemia. Has to go into hospital for treatments after Christmas. Cleaned coffee pot with vinegar.

We went to Jim’s for dinner. Audrey there also. We picked her up. Very slippery coming home. I was sick with bad chills in evening. My arthritis real bad in evening.

I didn’t get dressed all day. Feel rotten. Called Vern’s to say we wouldn’t be down Sunday. Patty called. Merrill cleaned church and got groceries.

We didn’t go to Vern’s. Merrill went to church, 76 out. Aunt Maude and I didn’t go. Furnace fumes bad. Shut furnace off in evening.

Had Robbins man back to adjust furnace. Merrill used snow blower but not much in driveway. Nice day. Washed clothes. June R called. Mrs. Hale is improving.

I called Evelyn. Mrs. Hale is out of intensive care after 17 days. She is in room 509. Merrill went to the store.

Sent card and note to Millicent Hale in Crouse Irving Memorial. Agway takes over Murphy Coal and Oil today. Ken Brown called. Got letter from Murphy. We took down Christmas decorations. Frank Robbins cleaned furnace chimney. It was almost plugged.

Merrill went for groceries. I washed clothes. Howard and Evelyn called in evening. Mrs. Hale much improved. We didn’t celebrate [New Year’s Eve]. I watched the new year on TV.

A lazy day. Watched the parade on TV. Merrill helped Roy Matteson take down Nativity at church as the wind damaged it last night. Vernon called in evening. Eleanor, Roberta, Luke and Tammy in Florida

I called Grace T. Carl at Leslie’s. Vern’s got to Jan and Jim today. Nice day but cold. 10° in the morning. Jim’s here in PM and for supper. Jim went over to Rudes. Martin hurt his leg with snowmobile. Jim took him to hospital. Kenny came back with him.

We went to church. 75 out. Great service. Cloudy day. I called Sandy Fagen. They are to report to Indian Town Gap January 26th. Edie is Okay.

Schools closed because of freezing rain in morning. Very windy all day. Temperature 47°. Power off over 2 hours in evening. Pole fire toward Evans Mills

Millicent Hale returned home today by ambulance from Crouse Irving, Syracuse. Merrill went with Howard to get shavings. Got tax notice $307.76 up $40.00. Got letter from Uncle Berl.
