Nice day. They got load of hay. I washed my hair. June called bank. My hand is very lame. Glenn mowed in evening. Vi called. Vern starts new job as dean at college.

Dr. Roberts, 10:45. Took blood for rheumatoid arthritis. We had lunch with Ken’s. Called Juanita. Got letter from Vern’s. Giles called to say our closing with Risdale’s is tomorrow at 3:30. I didn’t go to Rebekah’s at Evans Mills.

Farm closing, 3:30. and house closing 4:30. Wilts [?] office. Giles, $699.45. Harriet Beebe said Mrs. Beardsley is in Ogdensburg Hospital. We had supper with Patty and kids. Raining. June called. Vern is very busy. Doing old and new jobs. Rebekah’s party at Philadelphia for Leah Simonds.

Jeff got hurt with loader at Vernie LaFave’s. He broke some ribs. Washed rugs and clothes. Froze string beans. Merrill and June got load of hay. I feel much better today.

Wrote Marg and Roy. Nice day. Jim’s here all day. They helped move first stuff to Philadelphia. Called Vern’s. Got card for Agway stuff.

We went to church. Communion, 48 out. Tracy sang. Mrs. Scrimmagar moved to Brownville. We took load of stuff to Philadelphia. Vern, June and boys got here about 8 PM. Risdale’s drawed load of hay. Sold washer dryer and stove from Philadelphia, and refrigerator to Kim and Brian Spink.

We moved to Philadelphia. Vern’s, Jim’s, Howard and Evelyn helped us. Sure tired by night. Very hot. Vern’s left about 8 PM. Gloria, Jim, MaryJo, and Jimmy here in evening. We paid Mrs. Scrimmagar $100 for fuel oil. Boots got in fight with Whitman’s dog.

Patty and kids here all day. Jim came for supper. He and Merrill got Jolie’s’ car from farm. Patty cleaned all day. I got lot of stuff in kitchen cupboards. Rained some. Mrs. Scrimmagar here. Her cat came back here in evening from Leslie’s.

Phone men here but had to get more help to replace line so we didn’t get phone. Patty and kids here to help. Jim came for supper. Rained off and on all day. Aunt Maude and Lyla here in PM. We got dishes put away. Also utility room settled. Got note from June. Merrill took cat home.

June R and girls here. We went to their place. Merrill mowed lawns. I set in sun. Got groceries. It is in tonight’s paper that Barney VanEpps, 68 died. Phone company put phone in. Desk phone, 14 foot cord, $8.20 per month. I feel so lame. My arms ached so I couldn’t sleep last night. I called Dr. Roberts. Washed.

I’m very lame this morning. Wrote Vern’s. We spent day at funeral home with Marie and family. Went up to Don’s to supper. We bought 2 piece living room suite and box springs and mattress at Morrisons. They started delivering Times. Blue tube in PM.

Dr. Roberts called. I’m to call him Monday. Morrison’s delivered sofa, chair, and mattress set. Community Day. We didn’t go. Went to Barney VanEpps funeral at Piddocks. Patty and kids came early. Jim came out with us. We put down gold rug in PM. Terrible thunder storms early in day. Risdale’s lost their $700 cow.

Beautiful day. We went to church. Rested. Jim’s came about 4 PM. Brought chicken etc. A nice day all around.

Hot, 90°. Had picnic supper. We went to city and Sackets. Got garage roof shingles and door for side porch at Lanphere’s. Jolie came home with us. I called Dr. Roberts. Jennie Mae and Shirley Cooper here in evening.

In the 90’s. Lazy day. Lanphere’s brought shingles and door. Got note from June. We had picnic supper in back yard.

Merrill and Jolie went to city and Mills. Merrill got foot stool to go with living room suite, $20. Hot and muggy all day. Thunder storms all evening. Power off for almost 2 hours. Roy and Marg, and Beulah here for dinner. Beulah has a brand new car, Buick. I washed clothes. Got B-12 shot in evening.

I went to Dr. Roberts, 11 AM. Took Jolie home first to Sackets. Went to Vern and Junes afterwards. Spent night there, also Boots. A tractor trailer tipped over near their place. Went to see “Dean” Tryon’s office. Really nice.

Got home about 4 PM. Dan and Steve came with us. Got deed of house from Giles. Farm deed will be kept at Seaway bank. Merrill started garage roof. I stated new pills. Got them at Fays on way home. Stopped at Jim’s. He came home sick today.

Got letter from Angie. A hot day. In the 90’s. I washed clothes. Merrill and boys got one side of garage roof on. They went to dump and cleaned church. Louise Preston here. Thunder storm in evening.

Beautiful day. Cooler, We went to church. We took boys for ride to Fort Drum and Natural Bridge. Merrill hooked up dryer. Washed boys clothes.

Cooler. Got load of gravel for driveway. Merrill got hair cut at Theresa. Merrill tarred house roof. Gloria Collins here in evening. Brought us 20 piece set of Corelle dishes. Paid homeowners insurance, $156.

Sent light bill. Sent Karen card. Vern and June came for boys. I baked apple pie. Took awhile finding things. Merrill and boys went down to farm. Evelyn and June R called. Girls put dishwasher on and couldn’t change it. Patty called. They didn’t come out. Jim speaks at Antwerp tonight. Vern’s left about 9 PM.

Roberta and Billy’s 5th anniversary. Karen’s 14th birthday. Merrill went with Howard to Hall’s camp. I’ve felt horrid all day. Rev. Cameron’s here in evening. She brought me red dress. Wrote Uncle Berl.

Took up linoleum on front porch floor. Porch looks nice. Rainy all day. Colder. Talked with Aunt Maude. She is feeling some better.

Went to city. Got front door light and wiring. Also stuff for door. Got dryer hose. Raining. We listened to school band practicing in evening. Sent Gloria thank you card. Ordered Agway stuff. Called Patty from city.

Sunny all day. Merrill and Boots went to dump. They stopped at farm. Glen paid their share of light bill. Merrill made me peg board for back room. Got new checks from Philadelphia bank. Lila and Larry here, also Mrs. Scrimmagar. I feel better today. Made Vern and June anniversary cake.

Vern and June’s 18th anniversary. Don’s, Ken’s, and us and our kids, and grand children had picnic cook out down in gulf. Holly’s girl friend Peggy there also. Very nice day. Boots and Eleanor’s dog got in fight. Gave Vern’s yellow tea pot.

Sent for tan jacket to Lana Lobell. Merrill put on front porch outside light. Rainy. Tried today.

We went to Dexter to see Gladys and Ted. Found them home and had a nice visit. We went to Jim and Pat’s. Had supper with them. Got light for kitchen cupboards.

We went to Syracuse [State] Fair with Howard, Evelyn and Dawn. Evelyn called in morning. We had an enjoyable day together. Got home at 2 AM. Left at 11 AM. Got note from boys and June.

Merrill mowed lawns. Look nice. I washed clothes. We went for groceries. June R called. They will be sending us place payment. Merrill worked on Jim’s lawn mower.

Got Farm Tax notice, $512.42, up $21.84. Risdale’s pay them this year. A beautiful day. Got acquainted with Linda Belile for first. I baked cookies and birthday cake for Jim. Merrill jacked up side porch. Took pictures of house. Mr. Cameron called.

Jim’s 35th birthday. They came for PM and supper. We gave Jim kerosine lamp. Jim took home cement mixer and mower Merrill fixed for him. Had the van. We got first $225 check from Risdale’s. Merrill stopped at farm. Took them tax notice.

We went to church. Back on 11:15 time. Went to city. Saw Toby M and Jay in Nicholas. Got white purse at Sears. Drove to Clayton but Bill and Vi were away. Power off in evening, 3 1/2 hours. Saw Legion fire works in evening out our window.

Labor Day. No special celebrations. I’ve felt horrid all day. Nothing done. Merrill painted new porch door. Vi and Mrs. Cameron called in evening. Nice day but a cold wind.

A beautiful day. Merrill painted door, window casing, and steps on house white. He measured porch at Kelsey Bridge. Washed. Jim’s came in evening. Brought cake for dessert. I am so very sore and lame.

Merrill put new wood door on side porch. Bill and Vi here in evening. Rained in evening. Jim here for lunch. Got school tax notice from Mrs. Scrimmagar, $177.88.

We have been here 1 month today. UMW at CEC, 10 out. We increased pledge to $250 up $5. Jim, Pat, Jill and Joel here for lunch. I got B-12 shot. Got groceries. I made apple pie and 2 pumpkin pies. Got ward catalog.

Agway stuff. Got peas and cauliflower. Went to Fays for pain pills. Merrill painted house trim and part of garage. Lee and Isabel Hall here in evening. Got tan jacket, UPS.

Beautiful day. Sent for $2 rebate on hair blower. Merrill finished painting front of garage. We went to Vern and June’s with Jim and Pat. Nice time. Vern’s kitchen is about finished. Party for Bill and Marg Heck’s 25th anniversary. We didn’t get home in time.

Sunday School starts. I didn’t go to church. Too lame and sore. Jim here in PM and supper. We canned 28 quarts of tomatoes.

Terrible thunder storm this morning. Rained all day with thunder off and on. Got pictures from Big M. Merrill put tomatoes down cellar.

Rainy in morning but cleared. Merrill started patio at Watts. I feel better today. Merrill got car in garage finally.

Patty called. Invited us to supper. Dr. Scanlon, 1:30. Not a very good report on eyes. Pills upsetting them. Motrin 400. Got brown panel curtains for living room @ $3.27. Sent color of memorial stand.

Merrill worked at Watts all day. I feel horrid. We went for groceries after supper. Saw Vi. Marguerite Beech has gone to Jane’s.

Bill brought first fuel oil, 72 gallon @.49. Dr. Roberts, 10 AM. Put me on 8 aspirin a day. Weighed 156 pounds. We stopped at Ken’s, Orv and Angie’s. Had supper at Don’s. Called Marg. Her foot is about the same. Ken’s gave us peaches and apples. Got blood pressure pills at Fays.

Merrill worked at Watts in AM. I sorted cloths for closets. Beautiful day. Merrill mowed lawns. Went to dump. He cleaned church on way home. I froze what corn we had. I have cold. Sent our voter registration.

Beautiful day. We went to Sunday School,14 and Church 78. Jim’s here in PM and for supper. Aunt Maude here in PM. I have cold. Jim did also.

Larry and Kris Ashley have baby boy, Randy Michael born today. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Merrill worked at Watts all day. I washed clothes. I have horrid cold. Feel punk. Kavanaugh house has a “For Sale” sign.

A beautiful day. In 70’s. Mom has been gone 1 year. Wrote Vern’s. Sent card and $5. Sent extension dues, $5. Merrill worked at Watts all day. Merrill took Boots to town barn for rabies shot at 6 PM.
