Our 41st anniversary. We decorated pole at Philadelphia for 4-H. Lorraine helped. We went up in PM. Went to Fargo’s and cut a tree, $1.75. We put up “No parking” signs at church. Cleaned house. Washed clothes. Vince here with gas. Sent package to Dot. Vern and June called in evening.

We went to Sunday School and church, 70 there. Gave $1 for Tracy’s gift to Mrs. R. Merrill took car to Jacks to see about loose tail pipe. I wrapped gifts all evening.

Finished wrapping gifts in morning. We went to city to finish shopping. Still have a few small gifts to get. Cold all day. Below zero most of time. Mom called in evening. Ken is sick in bed. His back.

We worked at church in PM. Carl, Cheryl and Esther also. decorated church. Mr. Pancho cleaned walks of ice. Jim, Pat and kids here for supper.

Sent a few Christmas cards. First ones I’ve sent. Set up tree and decorated it. Howard called to ask if I wanted a kitten.

Nice day. Sent more cards. Merrill cut wood in AM. We cleaned church in PM. Got groceries.

Wrote Vern’s. Got card and note from Beulah and Glenn. First time in years. Got letters from Don’s and Ken’s. Mom not very good. Has a blockage. I made fudge, Christmas cookies, and cup cakes. Merrill had Art in to breed heifer, $7.35. Washed clothes in evening.

Lyle and Delores Hanson’s 17th anniversary. Aunt Keitha H and Marion leave for California today. We went out to Mom’s. She isn’t good. Talked with Ken’s. Eleanor is going to call Dr. Roberts to make appointment with Dr. Myerdericks

Nice day. We went to Sunday School and church, 69. Sunday School program in evening. We went. Very good. Dave went with us. Frosted cup cakes for shut in boxes.

Packed shut in boxes. Helped deliver some. Got final milk check, two days, $69.37. Advance check took 17 days getting here. Administrative Board meeting. Special so Rev. Cameron could give out report blanks. Mayor Daily of Chicago is dead, 74 years.

Dr. Roberts called me about Mom. says he is sure she has cancer. I called Dr. Myerdericks and made appointment for Thursday at 2:30. I called her and Don’s. Made donuts and cookies. Washed my hair.

4-H Christmas party at Eggleston’s. Nice time. Jamie, Jennifer and Dawn didn’t go. 21 there. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Also went to Theresa. Lila Miller, 65 died at 11 AM. Cancer. Cleaned stovepipes. Took shut in box to Mrs. Putman.

Mom’s appointment with Dr. Myerdericks at 2:30. He says the same as Dr. Roberts. She goes into hospital Sunday. We took her to Doctor. Terrible storm in Adams and city way. Some snow here. We went to funeral home for Lila Miller in evening. Got card from Arlene and Howard Decker.

Merrill cleaned with cleaner for me. I made cake. Washed clothes and rugs. Cooked beef roast to take out home, also salad. Called Vern in morning and Jim in evening. We went to Philadelphia in evening for film and flash bulbs. Had our gifts in evening. Merrill, car coat, gloves and socks. I got bag and night gown.

We went out to Mom’s. Had dinner with Don’s. Mom came home with us. Pat and Lorraine Brancatella’s house caught fire. They went to Lynn and Mary’s.

We took Mom to House of Good Samaritan Hospital at 3 PM. Jim came for dinner. Vern’s met us at the hospital. Marg and Roy there also. Vern got chicken for supper . Evelyn and Carl Scee called. Their kids gave them trip to Florida.

We had our Christmas together. All got nice gifts. Had dinner at 2:30. Jim’s got here about 12. Took pictures. Vern, June and I went to hospital to see Mom. She had lots of test. Jim’s left about 8 PM. Jolie stayed all night.

Vern’s left at 9:30. They took Jolie to Sackets. We went to hospital. Aunt Maude went also. They gave Mom blood. I talked with Dr. Myerdericks. Ken and Eleanor came to hospital as we were leaving.

We took down tree and decorations. Washed clothes. Merrill cleaned floors. Vi, Mrs. Cameron, and Marg K called. We went to hospital in PM. Mom not as good. May have cold. Dilly called to say Aunt Keitha is real bad in Los Angeles hospital. Cancer.

Hal’s 18th birthday. Mom had operation. Left room at 9:30. Went to recovery at 12:30 and into intensive care at 4 PM. Almost lost her but better at night. I stayed at hospital all night. Pauline and Garmon there in PM and until almost midnight. Very stormy Adams way.

Mom much better this morning. Saw her at 5:30 AM. Called Dilly, Marg, Patty and Dorothy Hag. Merrill here at 9:30. Rev. and Mrs. Cameron came to see Mom. Nellie Boytan’s husband died in PM. I came home tonight. Didn’t go to party at Leah’s and Claude’s. Too tired. Pauline and Garmon stopped at hospital,

We went to hospital. Mom fine. Was up for first time. Sat in chair. Weather still bad in places but improving. Vern and June called in evening.

Communion Sunday, 55 out. We went to Sunday School and church. Went to hospital. Mom is just great. Had walked quite a bit.

I wrote Uncle Berl. We went to hospital all day. They moved Mom to room 433. They gave her unit of blood. I saw Dr. Myerdericks. Aunt Keitha real bad. Temperature 104°. Bonnie Hag in Mercy. Doris called. Got tax notice, $439.72 up $42.97. Snowy and slippery.

Aunt Keitha got to Mercy late. UMW Marguerites. I didn’t go. Don called. Snowing hard up there. Merrill got manure spreader going again. Cleaned barn. We didn’t go to hospital. Roggie’s and Eleanor planned to go.

Sent Ken card and letter. We went to hospital in PM. Had supper with Patty and kids. Jim working. Don, Marg and Roy in to see Mom. Aunt Keitha came on Thursday flight to Mercy hospital last night.

Wrote Uncle Berl and Bowman’s. Horton’s and us took down Christmas Decorations at church. Merrill and I cleaned church. Got groceries. Ken’s birthday.

Merrill finished work at Horton’s. We went to hospital to see Mom. Aunt Keitha in Mercy hospital. 4-H meeting, business. 11 members and 2 guests. Light snow at times.

8° below this morning. Cold all day Washed clothes. Washed my hair. Merrill fixed light at CEC, also plug in.

We went to Sunday School and church. 85 out. A great sermon. we went to hospital in PM. Ken and eleanor there. Mom not as perky. Stitches hurt. Talked with Dilly and Evelyn.

No school. Mom to have stitches out. Very stormy. Cold in morning. Wrote Vern’s. Mrs. cameron called. They went to see Mom this morning. Also Aunt Keitha. Terrible stormy in evening.

Still cold but sun out. June and Vern called in morning. Everything closed in Oswego because of storm. Jim, Pat and kids here for lunch and supper. Blowing snow in evening. I called Mom in PM. She sounded good. Rev. David there.

Dr. Sommers, 2:15. David Johnson here in evening to fill out report. Brenda in hospital, dental work. Carl and Evelyn leave for Florida. Stormy south of here. we went to hospital. Aunt Maude went with us. Mom good. Nurses gave her flowers. Called Dilly, Aunt Keitha very weak. Percy Ball, 74 died of heart attack.

10° below in morning. Wrote Bowman’s and Uncle Berl. I took church books to Virginia New. We got groceries. Anne Eggleston is going to be horse project leader for 4-H. Jim goes to Albany at 4 PM. Tom Dawley’s graduation tomorrow, police dog, Fox. Merrill got hair cut at Theresa.

Took 19 pounds aluminum to recycle truck. Got $2.23. Went to see Aunt Keitha. Mom can go home first part of next week. Called Don’s. Katie Dewey showed me how to take care of Mom. We stopped at funeral home for Mr. Ball at Mills.

I washed clothes. Baked cookies. Merrill cleaned house. Washed my hair. Snowy all day. got fire insurance, $235. Vince here with gas.

They had a bad fire at Theresa after midnight. Frederick’s funeral home, Kelly and Holts Maytag store. We went to Sunday School and church. We went to hospital in PM. Snowing at city and Adams way. Bad again. Mom talked with Aunt Keitha.

Very stormy Adams way again. Very cold here. We went to hospital in PM. They didn’t come from Lorraine. PNG’s at Leah’s but I didn’t go. Wrote Vern’s.

20° below zero in morning. Very cold all day. Windy and stormy in P. We didn’t go to hospital in PM. Water pipes at barn frozen. Snow in Florida.

All schools closed for rest of week because of fuel shortage. Sent land taxes, $439.72. Merrill fixed water pipes at barn. Put shut off valve in cellar. Wrote Pauline. Snow in all 50 states.

Merrill went to Theresa. Ordered water tank. We went to city. Talked with Dr. M. Mom can go home tomorrow. We went to Sackets. Jim’s were setting up new Ben Franklin stove. got groceries at Philadelphia.

Snowy most of day. We b brought Mo home from hospital at noon. Pauline R was at hospital. we brought bed down in living room for Mom.

2° below zero in morning. Mary Hartman, Health nurse, came in morning. Helped with Mom’s bath etc. Merrill cleaned some at church. Lorraine Hall here. Tessie Nevilles asked to join 4-H club.

Merrill went to Sunday School and church, 62 out. Mary Hartman here in AM. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries in PM. Vern and June called in PM. 12° below zero at noon.

Administrative Board meeting. Only 6 out. County nurse Joyce Wood here. Merrill and Boots went to Antwerp for Boots license. Washed clothes. baked cake. Wrote Ken’s and Uncle Berl.

I gave Mom her bath alone. Nurse not here today. she called. Jim’s here for supper. They have CB Radio in car.

Storm in Adams and Oswego. No school there. Nurse Joyce Wood here in PM. I took care of everything for Mom and changed pouch for first time alone. Washed.

Wrote Vern’s. Very windy. Schools closed from Sandy Creek to Canton. Snowy some of time. No mail today. Worked at Week of Prayer program.

Terrible stormy all over. roads impossible all over. We went to Philadelphia for groceries in morning.
