Raining. Nine Past Noble Grands went to Flossie White’s at Woodville. Also Marguerite B. Nice time. I drove. Also froze peas.

Swell day. Merrill, Jim, & I, went to Crystal Lake in PM. Washed & did some ironing.

I had horrid headache in PM & evening. Went to bed soon as I got home. Men did work.

7 Troopers stopped traffic for check up on way home. Washed clothes. Feel better today. Froze peas.

Thunder storms in morning. Merrill went to Philadelphia & Mills with Lynn. Sent Don birthday card.

Don’s 33rd birthday. Nice day. Talked with Aunt Keitha at noon.

Paid Ann P. balance for $1.00 a week club. She sent my order Monday. Quite warm. Nice in evening also.

Went to Gouverneur but car radio hasn’t come yet. Froze beans & beets. Got sun dress at Kaplan’s. Got Merrill & Jim sport shirts.

Quite cool all day. Washed car. Didn’t go to church. No visitors.

Sure cold this morning. 44° degrees. Beulah called.

Still quite cool. I went down town at noon to see about formal at Globe. Paid Sears. Got letter from Melba & Elmer.

Still cold. Jim & I went to Theresa in evening for groceries.

Talked with Aunt Keitha. Grandpa is sick out home.They had doctor for him. Called Uncle Ray about Grandpa.

Warmer today. Seems good. Girls all paid me except Nellie. Only Bessie & Donna Dickson rode home. Got letter from Mom.

Made saccharin pickles. Froze beets. Met Mrs. Rumion at Theresa today when I went looking for berries.

We went out home for dinner. Marg was there.

Quite warm. Got package from $1.00 a week club of Ann P. Electric fan & silverware. I have cold.

Men finished haying at Art’s today. Have 25 acres to do here yet. Marg went to hospital in night.

My cold is better today. Not too ambitious. Got 30 pound tin of cherries at Johnies. $4.99.

Terrible warm & humid all day. Rained in evening. Got my hair cut in evening at Joan’s.

Cooler today. Aunt Keitha called to tell me Marg is in hospital. Had appendix operation today. Merrill, Jim, & I, went to Gouverneur fair in evening.

Painted kitchen ceiling & walls. Jim & I went to Theresa. Took cucumbers to Mrs. Rumion.

Jim & I went swimming to Crystal Lake. Vernon made desk.

I have headache. Aunt Maude called. They are going to see Aunt Marg tonight. I talked with Aunt Keitha.

Finished haying here today. Betty Haggerty called me from Kiechle’s. Wrote Marg.

Jim went to Ken’s on 10:10 bus. Merrill started combining at Drake’s.

Pauline & Garmon & kids were here. Started making wool skirts at Olga today. I went to hospital to see Marg. Is good. Got $2.00 white shoes. Mom called.

Merrill finished combining at Drake’s. Started at Kettle’s. I worked on wool skirts. I moved to another machine.

Rained in PM. Merrill & I went to Antwerp in evening. Merrill got hair cut. Washed.

Jennie Hayes 56th birthday. Cooler today but nice. Merrill & I went to Theresa for groceries. Vernon mowed lawns. We trimmed trees. Les & Beulah stopped.

Cool today. Merrill combined at Kettle’s. Didn’t get done.

Merrill combined oats at Hale’s. Nice day. He finished wheat at Kettle’s.

Merrill washed milk house. Got my formal from Globe store. $19.98. Signed for Times for year. $12.00.

Nellie, Carl, David, Lila Miller, & Bessie Hagan, were in accident on way home. Raining hard today.

George, Nelda, & boys came to Uncle Rays. Donna Dickson got through riding.

Vern didn’t work today. Vern & I went to city. Vernon’s appointment with Dr. McAskill. Vern has to have all new glasses. Merrill & I went to Gouverneur. We all went to Theresa in evening. Vern got clothes for school.

Haggerty reunion here. 101 present. Rained so we ate in hay barn. 21 from Canada were here.

Merrill got bushel of peaches at Philadelphia. $5.00. Went to Sears at noon. Got letter from Elgin.

Beulah & Les Hall’s Anniversary. Took TV to Thomson’s. Needed new tubes. $18.20. Got Vernon’s glasses. Marty was over. Jim went home with him.

Claude Schrools at Calcium Garage was murdered during the night. Marty Rudes was here. I went to Gouverneur in AM & had radio put in car. We also went to Theresa & Evans Mills.

Jim’s 13th birthday. Got air rifle, sneakers, & shirt. Made him birthday cake. Raining & colder. Had sweet corn for first.

Labor Day. Cleaned & waxed floors all through. Washed & ironed.

W.S.C.S. meeting here. Covered dish supper. 25 present. Nice time. Quite warm today. Jim went back to school. 8th grade.

Awfully hot today. Evelyn Hall was here in evening. Merrill went to Mills for tractor parts.

Mary Scee Anderson went to hospital last night. Carl & Gloria Tryon have baby girl. Cindy Lou, born today. 9 pounds 7 1/2 ounces.
