Sleepy today. Boys went to Sunday School. Boys & I went to church. Clara & Glen were over in evening.

Washed & ironed. Cleaned & waxed livingroom & dining room floors.Boys went back to school. Sent for upholstery for chair.

Cold & cloudy. Few snow flurries. Merrill & I took eggs to Manor. Went up home. Brenda is so cute.

Washed kitchen woodwork & waxed floor. I went to Grange. Sent kids home because they acted up so.

Painted sun porch & bathroom floors. Went to Home Bureau at Vi’s. Election of officers. Chairman, Helen K. Vice Chairman, Lucy N.Secretary/Treasurer, Dot Allen. Vernon went to 4-H council meeting

Snow flurries. Murray auction. We didn’t go over to it. Made cakes.

Quite cool but nice. Merrill, Jim, & I went to Murray Auction in PM. Eva Delles bought house.

Nice day. Boys went to Sunday School. Boys & I went to church. Merrill, Jim, & I went for ride in PM. Antwerp, Carthage, & Mills.

Feel punk. Jim didn’t go to school. Sore throat. Merrill went to lodge.

Jim didn’t go to school. Bill & Vi got a 1950 Chevrolet. Baked. I went to school in evening. They organized a P.T.A. I am temporary chairman. Mrs. Riley temporary secretary. Vernon was sick when he come home from school.

Merrill, Vi, & I went to Gouverneur. Had brake lining put on front wheels. Vi & I got dishes for church. I went to lodge. Thundered & lightening during night. Jim went back to school.

I went to Home Bureau on wills at Grace D’s in PM. Windy & cloudy. Vern went to Junior Class party at Pat Thibault’s in evening.

Lawrence & Jean H. have baby girl. Laurie Mae. Washed & ironed. Baked bread. We all went to city after school. Merrill got shoes. Vernon got chicken wire. $7.50.

Baked cake & pie. Vernon started upholstering (wine) living room chair.

Boys went to Sunday School. Rained all day. Vernon finished upholstering chair. Looks nice.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to lodge. Cloudy day. Rained hard in evening. Merrill got hair cut.

Merrill & I took eggs. Went up home. Don has partition in. Quite a lot done on milk house. Merrill & I went over to Beebe’s in evening. Taught sewing lesson.

No rain today. First in long time. I went out on Cancer Drive. Stopped at Beulah Hall’s. Vern is fixing chair for her.

Vern was sick & couldn’t go to school. Headache & temperature. Beulah, Geneva, Myrtle, Lula, Vi, & I went to lodge at Adams. 1851 degree put on by Garland lodge.

Vern didn’t go to school. He worked on Beulah’s chair. Did some more on Cancer Drive.

Juniors had paper drive. Put papers in our garage. Rained all day long. Made cakes & doughnuts. Finished drive. $13.00.

Cloudy. Boys went to Sunday School. Boys & I went to church. We helped tie papers with Juniors in PM. Webb’s were here helping too.

Nice day. No rain. Juniors took load of paper to city. Washed & ironed. Merrill went to lodge. Beulah & Ken came after chair.

Mother & Daughter banquet. I took Judy Buttry. Over 100 there. Grand day. Juniors took second load of papers to city.

Merrill & I went to Grange. George Waters showed slides on Korea to both Granges.

Vernon went to Oswego with Mr. Curtis to college conference all day. Jim & I went to spring musical at school. Very good.

Uncle Berle came about 4:30. His last visit before going to California to live. Left about 10:15. We didn’t go to 4-H.

Turned cows out for first both day & night. Vernon went to Pottsdam with band. We all went to Gouverneur in evening.

Mother’s day. We went out home for dinner. Boys went to Sunday School. Grand day.

Washed & ironed in evening. Vi & I went to Adams to see Uncle Berle. Got dishes, chair, & mirror. Merrill went to lodge.

Uncle Berle left for California in evening. Took calf to sale to Gouverneur. Helped Merrill drill grain for first this year. Juvenile Grange county meeting. No one went from Philadelphia.

Uncle Berle left Ken’s at 11:10 AM. Rained & stormed last night. I don’t feel so good. Dizzy. Initiation at lodge. Merrill, Carroll Ward, & Harold Shepard joined.

Cloudy & wet. I went to P.T.A. in evening. Didn’t elect officers as no one for president yet.

Very rainy day. Vern went to city with Anderson’s. They were here in PM. I went to Home Bureau party at Dot Allen’s. Vice Chairman. Nice time.

Clearing today. Merrill & Jim took car to Gouverneur to have brakes fixed. $25.00. Got card from Uncle Berle from Ohio. He drove 343 miles May 14.

Nice day. We all went to church. Mr. Pilbeam brought guest preacher from conference. Vernon went to show in PM. with Junior Class.

Very bad storm during night. Struck telephone pole & lightpole. Burned out units in hot water heater. Washed. Merrill went to lodge. Don & Dec. Pitkin were here for supper.

Jim got pictures from Uncle Berle in Missouri. Carl’s 25th birthday. Don’t know where Carl is now. Suppose to be on way back to Korea. Merrill & I took eggs out home in evening.

Jim didn’t go to school. Sore throat. Lyle H. was here for supper. Merrill helped Shorty Hill at Mills. Subscribed for magazine for Jim from World War II vet. Anderson’s were over in evening. I didn’t go to Grange. Catholics had church doings.

Nice day but windy. Cleaned & waxed kitchen floor.

Merrill & I went to Gouverneur. Got gifts for P.N.G. Roy, Marg, Beulah, & Bev, came for supper. Vern played in band at Antwerp.

Uncle Berle got to California. Roy, Marg, Beulah, & Bev, went home about 6:00 PM. Marg, Beulah, & I went over to Aunt Maude’s & over town. Merrill helped Shorty most of day.

Nice day but cool. Boys went to Sunday School. We worked all day planting oats. Jim & I planted flower seeds.

No hot water so didn’t wash clothes. Merrill didn’t go to lodge as he was working on land.

Raining buckets. Church put on dinner for firemen. I helped in kitchen. Merrill & I went to Gouverneur in PM. Started raining at noon.

Raining. Sleepy today. We entertained P.N.Grands at lodge. Only 13 there. (31 members present)

Got elements for hot water heater. Still raining. Merrill & I went to city. Got material for Vernon’s chair. Vernon went to basketball banquet at Pine Lodge. Frank Arnold died last night.

Did 2 weeks wash. We all went to firemen’s parade in evening. Made pie for fireman’s supper.

Merrill, Jim, & I went to show in evening. Went to Memorial service over town. Rained all AM. Merrill went with IOOF to Arnolds. Myrtle & I called at Arnolds. Merrill & I went up to see Virginia Delles. Vernon went to Dexter with band.
