A new diary. My 11th year to keep diary. Had a nice party last night. 20 here. Every body sleepy today.

Mrs. E. Hagan’s 70th birthday. Nice day. Real warm. Baked. Jim went skating with John & Charles. Stayed for supper with them. I went to Vera Riordon’s with Helen & Vi.

4-H meeting here. 14 here. Carl Allen stayed for supper. Merrill & Jim took him home in evening. Freddie Riordon’s funeral.

Boys went to Sunday School. Boys & I went to church. Communion. Good turn out about 100. Wrote Mom’s & Ken’s. Sent Ken birthday card.

George Henderson killed beef. Washed & ironed. Merrill went to lodge.

Ken’s birthday. (33 years) I went to W.S.C.S.. Merrill & Frank Hagan bought bull. Merrill played darts in evening with firemen. IOOF beat firemen 3 games.

Cold. Merrill, Jim, & I went to Grange.

Merrill went to meeting on income tax at Grange Hall. Merrill went to LaFargeville to play darts. I went to Home Bureau at Mrs. Livingston’s. Gave first lesson on tailoring techniques. Brought new bull.

Doris Web went to hospital. Stormy. I went to lodge drill practice. Boys went to basketball game.

We went to city for groceries. Started raining & freezing on so we didn’t stay long. I got nice letter from Helen Ramos.

Very icy. Boys didn’t even get to Sunday School. They sanded our road just before noon.

Washed & ironed. Merrill & I went to Odd Fellows installation. About 65 there. Very nice. Evans Mills staff installed. Jack Tousle, Nobel Grand & Millard Thompson, Vice Grand.

Merrill & I went to city and out home. Got car license & insurance. Got quarter of pork. Took Dad’s beef. I went to card party at Gretta Hann’s. Benefit of Catholic Church. Vernon went to basketball game.

Merrill & I worked at pork & beef. I went to lodge in evening. Stopped at R. Petre’s. Very warm & nice like spring.

We worked at beef again today. Very nice day. Windy in evening. I don’t feel so good. Over tired I guess.

Merrill & I worked at beef. Had hamburg ground at Parker’s. Boys went to game. Played Antwerp.

Cafeteria supper at Grange Hall for our W.S.C.S. Circle. Made about $50.00. Merrill & Vernon went out & helped Don cut logs in PM. Windy & rainy in evening. Got home from supper about 8:00

Boys went to Sunday School. Boys & I went to church. Wonderful sermon. Merrill & I made out income tax return. Dark, cloudy day. No snow on ground at all.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to lodge. His first meeting as R.S.N.G. Got package from Spiegels. New navy dress, navy shoes. Have to send back green one.

Merrill & I went to city. I got multi colored play shoes. $2.98. Merrill went to dart game. Vern to basketball game. Grand day. Like spring.

Grange. Merrill & I went. Merrill & boys went to 4-H meeting at school. Had movies.

Home Bureau food lesson on fruit desserts at Mary Beebe’s. Nice lesson. 13 there. Jim was sick in night.

Lodge practice. I went. Jim didn’t go to school. Feels better. Warm & just like spring out. Sent back green shoes to Spiegel. 21¢ postage.

Rainy today. Elmer N. was here for eggs. I don’t feel so good. Grippe I guess.

Boys went to Sunday School & church. Very slippery. Snowed a little.

Washed & ironed. Cold but nice. Merrill went to lodge. Vern didn’t feel good when he came home from school.

Windy & cloudy. Merrill & I went to Gouverneur. Took calf to sale.

Lodge. D.D.P. Edna Bacus attended. Also 4 others from Antwerp. Flossie White was present. Vi & Aunt Maude are both sick. Snowing.

Snowy. Gave myself “Super Toni”. Baked heart cake in new cake pans. Made cookies.

Vernon & I went to dentist. Vern had 3 teeth filled. $9.00. Mine are OK. Got letter from Mom. Juanita has been out to her mother’s for a visit this last week.

Raining & snow melting again. Merrill & I went to card party at legion for March of Dimes. Went to show. Vernon started fixing bathroom. Got letter from Eleanor.

Boys went to Sunday School. Merrill & I went out home in PM. Juanita & girls got home. Her folks brought her. Vern finished bathroom.

Washed & ironed. Painted first coat of paint in bathroom. Merrill went to lodge. Grandpa Kiechle isn’t very good.

Brenda is 4 months old. Merrill & I went to Gouverneur. Got shower curtains & curtains for bathroom. W.S.C.S. but I didn’t go.

Merrill, Jim, & I, went to Grange. No Juvenile Grange as there weren’t enough kids there.

Grandpa Kiechle died at 4:30 PM. (87 years). Mrs. Palmer died today too. (92 years). Painted bathtub second coat of paint. Merrill played darts in evening.

Stormy. Merrill, Vi, & I, went to city. Got flowers from neighbors for Mr. Kiechle. I went to lodge practice in evening. Slippery.

Ben Kiechle’s 18th birthday. We called at Kiechle’s in evening. Vernon painted hall. I cleaned upstairs.

Vern had ear ache during night. Grandpa Kiechle’s funeral. Merrill & I went. Was quite large. Very nice day. Betty & Uncle Len & Mr. & Mrs. Caird [?] were here in PM after funeral. Boys went to Sunday School.

Have terrible cold. Feel punk. Merrill went to lodge.

Merrill & I took eggs out. Mom & Dad came home with us. Grand day. Washed. First parachute jumps today at 8:30. Arlene & Howard Decker have baby girl. Cynthia Lorraine. 8 pounds, 5 ounces.

Initiation at Rebekah’s of candidates. Mrs. Fikes by transfer. Snowed terrible in evening. Saw jumps today. Got home from lodge at 2:00 AM.

Mom & I started quilt. Merrill & Dad went over town.

Friday the 13th. Mom & Dad, Merrill, Jim, & I went over to Glenn & Clara Wallace’s in evening. Had nice visit. Worked at quilt.

Finished quilt. Had 4-H meeting here. 8 boys & 7 adults. Had movies & ice cream bars & candy. Mom & Dad went over to Uncle Rays to stay all night.

Boys went to Sunday School. Mom, Dad, Merrill, Jim, & I called on Aunt Til Walts in PM. She lives at Theresa. She is 80 years old. Vern went over to Helen’s to show John movie.

Mother Tryon & Grandpa Haggerty’s birthday. We went to Lowville to Uncle Len’s. Mom & Dad stayed up there. Was storming terrible up there. Merrill went to lodge.

Grand day. Uncle Len & Betty brought Dad & Mom home. Was here for dinner. Annie & Perin Kiechle was here in PM. Vernon went to game at Cape Vincent.

Merrill & I took Mom & Dad home. Was snowing out there. Uncle Berle came home with us. I went to Grange in evening. Carl Kiechle has mumps.

Washed clothes in PM. I went to card party at legion for heart fund.
