Washed & ironed. Went over to Helen’s in PM to stencil & finish trays. Merrill went to Lodge. Mr. Hodge died today 6:00 AM.

I went to Halloween program at school. Went to W.S.C.S. meeting at Alice F. I had charge of meeting for Margaret. Worked on dress in evening.

Merrill & I went to Rob Hodge’s funeral. Got new green velvet hat. $3.98. Grand day. Just like summer. Orra Phillips was buried 8 years ago yesterday. Boys & I went to Grange.

Merrill finished up rest of plowing. Dress lesson III at YMCA. Gladys, & Vivian went with me. Got candy for Juvenile Grange. Got stencil paint. Doris W. was over after pattern.

Merrill & I went to Burrville & city. Quite cold. Gave Home Bureau lesson on pressing at Betty Schnauber in evening. 11 there.

Baked pies, cake, doughnuts, & cookies. Rained awfully hard all day. Creek very high. Vern went to Methodist Youth Rally at city in evening.

We all went to church. Two guest ministers from Pennsylvania had part in service. Stayed home in PM.

Nice day. Washed. Put on storm windows. Merrill went to Lodge in evening. Wrote Eleanor. Sent for Past Master Juvenile Jewel.

Election. Took truck over to Klock’s to have radiator fixed. I went over to the parsonage for supper. Vi & I went out on church drive. Bill & Vi came over after me. Voted in evening. Dewey elected Governor.

Didn’t get our truck done. Hall’s came after me in evening. Went to church with Beulah & to Lodge. Alice had operation.

Got our truck home. Cost $20.00. Raining hard all day. Quite cold too. Wrote Mother Tryon & Alice. Got Past Master Jewel.

I went to city with Eva Delles. Had last dress lesson. Was sick when I got home.

Helped at Home Bureau food sale. First snow flurries this year. Finished ironing.

Jim & I went to church. Snowing hard. Everything covered with snow. Washed clothes in evening.

Merrill & I went to city. Went to hospital to see Alice. Jean Hanson & Lois Pitkin are in hospital too. Alice is not too good. Got Vernon sport coat, & overshoes.

Jim is out of school with cold. Started cleaning living rooms & bedroom. washed curtains. First Bible study at Mrs. Heatherington’s. I didn’t go.

Jim didn’t go to school today. Still doesn’t feel good. Jim lost his first tooth.Vernon & I went to Grange. Vern was presented Past Master Pin. Saw first jet plane (over house).

Jim went to school today. Raining. Cleaned kitchen. Washed sun porch curtains.

Waxed kitchen & dining room floors. Had Home Bureau meeting here. Gave lessons on pressing.

Appointment for Vernon with Dr. McAskill at 10:30 AM. His eyes are quite bad. $6.00 for examination. Vernon & I was to city all day. Aunt Keitha called.

Uncle Earl’s birthday. Merrill & I went to Uncle Earl’s for fish. Froze 30 pounds for Mom & I. Stopped at Alice’s. She got home from hospital today. Called Mother Tryon.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to Lodge. Snowed in evening. Vernon’s eyes are bothering him. He started work on his ship clock at school.

Made myself birthday cake. Went to drill practice at Lodge.

Boys are out of school at noon. We all went to city in PM. Vernon got new glasses. $18.00. Boys did Xmas shopping. I didn’t go to Lodge.

We went out home for Thanksgiving. Grandpa is still there. Merrill brought Dad’s sleighs home. Stopped at Merrill’s folks.

Boys didn’t have to go to school. Merrill finished making end tables. I went over to Aunt Maude’s in PM.

Cloudy & very windy. Very bad weather all over country. Blew off roofs & blew down trees.

Everybody cleaning up after storm. We all went to church. Wrote letter to Uncle Berle.

Boys go back to school after vacation. Doris Webb’s father died Saturday. Washed & ironed. Worked on dress. Merrill went to Lodge. Merrill took radio to Antwerp & had it fixed. $2.25.

2nd Bible study. I went to it. 6 there. Florence Bechard was here to get money for flowers. Flora Lawler & kids were here. Snowed hard in PM & evening. Got card from Mom. Some damage done there.

Lodge drill practice. I went. Snowing quite hard in evening.

Earl Mercer was over after pressing pads. Very stormy all day. Snowing & blowing. Marion Hagan died today. Powers Hagan’s wife. They are thinking of using the atom bomb in the war. [Korea]

Home Bureau at the church on gift wrapping. I went. 14 there. Wrote Mom.

Worked on dress. Made button holes & buttons & buckle. Baked.

We went out home for dinner. Merrill helped Dad fix roofs that was damaged by the wind. Eleanor & Ken, Mr. & Mrs. Jacobs was there in PM. Nice warm day.

Rained all night last night. Turning to snow in morning.

Home Bureau dress review at YMCA. I went. Merrill & I went to city. Very nice. Got first Xmas card from Doreen Parker Allen.

Grange. Vernon & I went. Put on graduation ceremony. Vernon graduated. Also Arlene B. & Edith G. Juvenile decorated windows.

Merrill & I went to Gouverneur shopping today. First time I’ve shopped over there.

Vi, Beulah, & I went to city to show at Avon. Saw the Hilton Siamese twins in person on stage.

Merrill, boys, & I went to city Xmas shopping. Jim saw Santa. Terrible crowd up there. Saw Bill, Vi, & Martha there. Got electric percolator for Anniversary.

They had a surprise party for us last night. [anniversary] 27 present. Had a very good time. They gave us a lace tablecloth. Boys & I went to church & Sunday School.

Vi & I went to city all day. Real nice day. Vern was sick & didn’t go to school.

Terrible storm out Adams way. Started snowing awful hard here in evening. Xmas party at Rebekah’s. I was on committee. Merrill took me to Lodge. 40 there.

Got card saying Uncle Berle was in hospital. Lots of snow. Still snowing some. Worked on dress. Gave myself Toni Wave. Merrill went to Lodge at Mills. Philadelphia put on degree. Also had dart game.

Merrill didn’t get home until 2:00 AM last night from Lodge at Mills. Sleepy today.

We went to city to see Uncle Berle. He had kidney stone removed yesterday.
