Merrill, Kessel, & Vernon went out home to help with haying. Girls, Jim, & I walked back to woods.

Kids & I went up to Pine Camp with Halls. Quite a lot going on. Merrill baled hay all day.

They drawed hay all day. Did baking in evening. Kids went to show. Took Kessel over to bus.

We all went to church. Went up to park for a picnic dinner. Drove out home in PM. Don & Juanita were there. I was sick in evening.

Kessel didn’t come back to help today. Drawed hay. Washed clothes & did ironing. Rained hard in afternoon.

We drawed in some hay in PM. Merrill & Vernon went huckleberrying & got enough for a pie.

Don’s 27th birthday. Sent Don card. Kessel got back today. Carl has been injured in action in Korea. Was in 24th division.

Carl, Kessel came over & raked for men. John & Charles were here.

Thunder storm in evening. Struck our telephone. Blew box off house. I went over to Aunt Maude’s & called telephone company. Piece was in paper about Carl. Is all wrong. Finished baling hay for the year.

Drawed in few loads of hay before it rained. We went to Drive In theater in evening. Roy Rogers & Weaver Brothers. They fixed telephone. Mrs. Ramas called girls from Brooklyn.

Merrill, Kessel, Vern, & Jim, Beulah’s Fresh Air [kids], Helen, & Miriam took tour around 1000 Islands. Duff’s, Simond’s, & us had picnic dinner at Grasse Point.

Washed & did some ironing. Don’t feel too good. Rained. Odd Fellows had special meeting. Merrill went to Lodge.

I went to W.S.C.S. at Aunt Lou’s. Nice day. Helen & Miriam left on 9:52 train.

Finished ironing. Canned 24 pints cherries & 13 pints pickles. (saccharin & bread & butter.)

Ice cream social. Good turn out. Made $38.00. Vern & Jim went to ice cream social too.

Cloudy. Men got reaper ready to use. Started reaping grain.

Men reaped grain. Bad wind storm at Pine Camp. Washed some clothes & baked cookies, pie, & cake.

Rebekah’s & IOOF picnic at Westcott State Park. Had good time. 33 there.

Went to city in morning but didn’t see Dr. Summa. Washed clothes in PM. Men reaped grain. L. Reynolds came to fix hot water heater.

Merrill helped thresh at Bacon’s. Merrill & Kessel helped at Webb’s in PM. Canned cherries. Signed for American magazine.

Men threshed at Webb’s. Waxed kitchen & dining room floors. Went out home. Got here about 7:30.

Dad’s appointment with Dr. Summa at 9:45 AM. Mom, Dad, & I went to city. Dad got two pair of glasses. $29.00. Exam $10.00. Got home at 6:30. Stopped at Beulah’s. Men threshed at Bechard’s & Louis’

Men threshed at Rappole’s. Kind of cool today. Kind of tired today.

Men threshed at Watts. Jim & I went to city. Got square dance record. Got floor lamp for Don & Juanita.

Stayed home all day. Worked all day. No church. Vacation.

Men threshed at Bacon’s. Vernon helped. Had party for Juvenile Grange here. 21 kids here. Had nice time.

Finished reaping grain. Quite warm. Men threshed at Steeles. Was up to Gladys Mercer’s. Got ready for threshers. Beulah & Les were over. Night Blooming Cyrus plant blossomed. Very beautiful. Frank Pickard died today.

Rained so couldn’t thresh. Merrill went to city with Louie R. Beverly Alton married today. Boys & I went to Grange.

Had threshers today. 743 bushel out tonight. Awfully hot. Got check for two calves. $23.50 & $24.50.

Had threshers again today. Finished threshing. 1609 bushel. Most we have ever had.

Rained hard so men didn’t have to help thresh.

Cloudy. Went to see Don & Juanita for first time at Harrisville. Took them floor lamp. Ate supper with them. Men went berrying.

Merrill & I went to city. Took calf to sale. $27.00. Got boys overalls for school.

Men helped thresh at Newton’s. Washed clothes. Worked over to church in afternoon.

Men threshed at Newton’s again today. Baked doughnuts, cake, & pies. More polio at Carthage. Is terrible.

Shampooed my hair. Men worked in woods. Virginia Delles’ little girl Star, age 2, has polio.

Very hot. Had weiner roast in back yard in evening. Kessel got through work today. Merrill & I took him to Adams. Shopped in city.

Baked doughnuts & cakes. Got things ready for tomorrow.

Had party at Mom & Dad’s for Juanita & Don. 60 present. Had nice time. They got a lot of gifts. Vernon stayed out home.

Washed clothes & did ironing. Very cloudy. Merrill helped fill silo at Uncle Ray’s in PM.

Merrill, Jim, & I went to city. Had my eyes examined again (drops). Rained hard all day. Kessel came back today.

Made an appointment with Dr. McAskill for Vernon on November 18. Merrill & Kessel helped build silo at Rappole’s. Wrote Dr. Summa. Carthage schools will not open until September 18 because of polio.

Wrote Mom. G.L.F. Party at Legion Rooms. Merrill, Jim, & I went . Rained. Merrill & Kessel filled silo at Watts.

Rained about all day. Jane Kiechle is sick. Merrill, Jim & I went to city in evening. Got Merrill new work frock.

Jim’s 7th birthday. Made him cake. He got cowboy shirt. We all went to show. Drove over to Pat Eggleston’s barn dance.

Went out home after Vernon. Stopped at Mother & Dad Tryon’s. Kind of cool but nice day. Took out birthday cake for Jim for dinner.

Washed & ironed. Made blackberry jam. Waxed kitchen floor. Men filled silo at Rappole’s. Went to Lodge for first time this fall.

Boys went to school for first. Vernon is 1st year high school. Jim 2nd grade. Men filled silo at Rappoles. Uncle Ray buzzed wood. I took calf to sale.

Jim was sick & didn’t go to school. Canned tomatoes. Made sweet pickles. Vern & I went to Grange. Men filled silo at Webb’s.

Men filled silo at Webb’s again today. Didn’t have school because of lack of teachers.
