Kids & I went up to Pine Camp with Halls. Quite a lot going on. Merrill baled hay all day.

They drawed hay all day. Did baking in evening. Kids went to show. Took Kessel over to bus.

We all went to church. Went up to park for a picnic dinner. Drove out home in PM. Don & Juanita were there. I was sick in evening.

Kessel didn’t come back to help today. Drawed hay. Washed clothes & did ironing. Rained hard in afternoon.

Don’s 27th birthday. Sent Don card. Kessel got back today. Carl has been injured in action in Korea. Was in 24th division.

Thunder storm in evening. Struck our telephone. Blew box off house. I went over to Aunt Maude’s & called telephone company. Piece was in paper about Carl. Is all wrong. Finished baling hay for the year.

Drawed in few loads of hay before it rained. We went to Drive In theater in evening. Roy Rogers & Weaver Brothers. They fixed telephone. Mrs. Ramas called girls from Brooklyn.

Merrill, Kessel, Vern, & Jim, Beulah’s Fresh Air [kids], Helen, & Miriam took tour around 1000 Islands. Duff’s, Simond’s, & us had picnic dinner at Grasse Point.

Washed & did some ironing. Don’t feel too good. Rained. Odd Fellows had special meeting. Merrill went to Lodge.

I went to W.S.C.S. at Aunt Lou’s. Nice day. Helen & Miriam left on 9:52 train.

Finished ironing. Canned 24 pints cherries & 13 pints pickles. (saccharin & bread & butter.)

Dad’s appointment with Dr. Summa at 9:45 AM. Mom, Dad, & I went to city. Dad got two pair of glasses. $29.00. Exam $10.00. Got home at 6:30. Stopped at Beulah’s. Men threshed at Bechard’s & Louis’

Finished reaping grain. Quite warm. Men threshed at Steeles. Was up to Gladys Mercer’s. Got ready for threshers. Beulah & Les were over. Night Blooming Cyrus plant blossomed. Very beautiful. Frank Pickard died today.

Rained so couldn’t thresh. Merrill went to city with Louie R. Beverly Alton married today. Boys & I went to Grange.

Had threshers today. 743 bushel out tonight. Awfully hot. Got check for two calves. $23.50 & $24.50.

Very hot. Had weiner roast in back yard in evening. Kessel got through work today. Merrill & I took him to Adams. Shopped in city.

Had party at Mom & Dad’s for Juanita & Don. 60 present. Had nice time. They got a lot of gifts. Vernon stayed out home.

Merrill, Jim, & I went to city. Had my eyes examined again (drops). Rained hard all day. Kessel came back today.

Made an appointment with Dr. McAskill for Vernon on November 18. Merrill & Kessel helped build silo at Rappole’s. Wrote Dr. Summa. Carthage schools will not open until September 18 because of polio.
