Diary Entry for 11/10/1949

Girls had to be in court at 10 AM. Took all day but she got annulment. They left for home about 7 PM. I gave first Home Bureau sewing lesson to group in PM. and to our new unit at Vi Mowers in evening. We named our new unit “Busy Home Makers”. 9 people in each group taking the lessons.

No school or mail. New Juvenile Grange installation. Installed 23 honorary members & 22 Juvenile members. I’m Juvenile Matron. Vernon Master. Merrill got home rest of lumber from Kiechle’s. Wrote Mom.

Vernon stayed out this forenoon & helped with chores. Merrill went down to Doctor Draper’s. Gave him medicine & penicillin shot. Got first Xmas card. Uncle Earle & Aunt Kietha’s anniversary.

Boys & I went to Sunday School & church. Had chicken dinner. Merrill slept all PM. Rainy & warm. Our 14th anniversary party at Uncle Earle’s today. [Did that turn out to be a surprise party for Bea & Merrill?]
