Another hot day but cooler than yesterday. Merrill finished window trim. Looks nice. We had fresh peas from garden. Cheryl brought Merrill check for work.

We went for groceries in morning. Merrill put checks in bank, $300.00 plus interest. Merrill painted front and back steps green. I made 3 bean salad. Patty called. Vicki has been East for a visit. Left for California today.

Don and Juanita’s 33rd anniversary. Hot and muggy. Thunder storm and rain during night. Washed. Merrill had car inspected at Sunoco Station, $6.00. Vern, June, and Dan, got here at 6 PM. Brought fish for supper. I called Bowman’s in evening. Olive has kidney infection.

Chase Harrington Manor ground breaking on corner of South Main Street and Irish Avenue. We went to it. Vern’s got started today at 7 AM. They came back here for supper and then went back home as they did not have canvas at Alex Bay. Merrill cleaned church. June called Steve.

Beautiful day, 80’s. Haggerty Reunion at Whatake Park, Lowville. Aunt Maude, Merrill, and I went. The rest there was Uncle Len’s family. About 75 there. Church this morning, 31 there. We went to Hall’s in evening. Howard was working. Jeff, Sandy, Hal,Kim Yeardon, Evelyn, and Dawn were home.

Merrill dug paint off windows. Hot, 85°. My arthritis bad today. Leah here in evening. Cheryl and Aunt Maude over with Cheryl’s new car. Buick Sabre sport. Very nice.

Merrill picked peas. Washed clothes. I canceled Reader’s Digest book club. Hot all day. City manager Douglas Lowe (Watertown) resigned yesterday after 6 months in office.

Heard first locust this year. Hot and muggy. My arthritis really bad all day. Not much done.

Thunder storm and rain in late afternoon. Much cooler in evening. Wrote Uncle Berl. Car Scee called.

We went for groceries. I made cookies and bread for Quaker Day UMW Sale. Anne Wilmer here for petition for Lawyer Williams. Nice today but cool wind.

Quaker Day at Philadelphia. Merrill took food over. We didn’t go over to it. Was at Legion parking lot. Vivian and ClarkTrice 28th anniversary.

Thunder and showers early in morning. Went to church, 49 out. Percell baby baptized, Sheri and Jim’s. Elgin called about 8 AM. He, Olive, Carmine, and Wilamina came over for dinner. Aunt Maude here also. All are well. Thunder storm in PM.

Merrill mowed lawns. Sent Don card, letter. Enrollment for Chase Harrington Manor today. I called on Louise Reston. Administrative Council and Trustee meeting. We went, 12 out.

Dr. Scanlon, 1:30. Everything okay. Don’s birthday, 60th. We went to Sackets for girls. Patty’s father is deputy sheriff in North Carolina now. Patty’s brother Bob and family coming Friday.

Merrill and girls took car to garage to get bracket put on, $3.00. Washed clothes. Girls played with Marty, Jeff, and Jimmy Collins. Carl Taylor here in evening. Another great day.

I sent claim to Medicare for Dr. Scanlon. Renewed Times, and Country News. Hot and muggy. Merrill and Carl Taylor worked all day at parsonage windows. Kids and I went to diner for ice cream.

Raining. Jim and Pat came after girls. Here for lunch. Joel at Audrey’s. Washed girls clothes. A very humid day. Merrill and Carl didn’t work at parsonage today.

Rained during night. Badly needed as it is so dry. Merrill went to dump. David VanTassel’s mother died this AM. Ruth Hale died yesterday. Men didnt’ work at parsonage.

We went to church, 33 out. Rev. Salisbury’s grandchildren sang. Nice. Thunder storm at noon. Rained hard. We went to store in PM. Rained hard in PM and evening.

Ruth Hale’s funeral at church. Rained off and on all day. I baked pies and cake. I ordered box of 25 cards from Joey, $4.50 paid.

Eleanor VanTassel’s funeral at Mills. I took food over to Cathy’s. Agway delivered fuel oil, 70.2 gallon @$1.05. Merrill worked at parsonage in PM.

Washed dark clothes. Merrill worked at parsonage windows. Hot and muggy.

Raining. Hot and muggy. Rained most of night. We went for groceries in AM. Merrill and Carl Taylor worked at parsonage in PM. Merrill got hair cut. Rained terrible at Theresa but none here in evening.

Merrill went to Evans Mills for shingles for parsonage roof. He and Bill Mowers put them on. I cleaned cupboards. Very hot and humid. Gary Belile has a new pickup truck. Black and red.

Merrill and Bill finished roof at parsonage. Carl Taylor worked also. Merrill went down to June’s. Helped change hay rope over. She paid him June payment. Got letter from Vern’s. June may have sugar. Also more breast lumps.

We moved here 5 years ago today, 1978. We went to church, 37 out. Hot and muggy. No company today. Sat in back yard all day. Beulah Macklin’s 60th birthday. John Wesley White revival opened in Ice Arena. 1500 first night

Windy but nice. Cooler. Sent car insurance and fire insurance, light bill, and my Blue Cross payment. We canned 7 quarts yellow beans. Thunder storm in evening. Humid.

Much cooler and fresh. Merrill mowed lawn. Wrote Vern’s. We went to John Wesley White’s Crusade in city. Aunt Maude went with us. Very good.

45° during the night. A great day but cool. They spread more concrete on housing project. We went to Karen Hanson’s clarinet and voice recital at Trinity Church Watertown. Excellent. Aunt Maude went with us.

Raining. We went to groceries. Joey cleaned out brake on car, $5.00

Hollis’ 23rd birthday. Cloudy and cool. Merrill cleaned church. He leveled Rev.Salisbury’s washer. I wrote Don’s. Washed bath rug.

Nice day. Washed clothes. Merrill ran cleaner. Patty, Audrey, and kids here for lunch,. Joel and Jill stayed out. Had painting bee at church. Jim Houghton, Carl Taylor, Harry, Ken, and Merrill. I went over to Kathy’s.

We went to church, 29 out. We went to park. Got lunch at McDonalds and ate in park. We lost hub cap on way across Fort Drum.

Car to Joe’s for gas tank leak. Took all day but still leaking. Donnie McKeever, 40, electrocuted on job in Syracuse. Called several for food for family. Kids played at parsonage.

Hot but nice. We looked for hub cap. No luck. Took UMW food to McKeever’s. In their house for first time. Nice house. Kids played at parsonage. I was over after kids.

We took Jill and Joel home. Stopped at Agricultural Field Days. Went to meeting at church in evening. Woman from Lebanon spoke. Pat Eggleston died today in Bay hospital.

Thunder storm during night. Merrill paid Joe for fixing car, $35.00. Merrill got hub cap like one we lost. We went for groceries. Very hot and muggy. Got $20 refund from Medicare. Got jury questionnaire to fill out.

Washed. Foggy in morning. We called at Eggleston’s in PM. Raining again. Sent for Blue Cross $5.00 refund. Vern’s on trip with youth group to Philadelphia, Washington, etc. Left at 7:30 this morning.

Pat Eggleston’s funeral. We went. A large funeral. Zelda brought back my dish. Merrill worked at parsonage. Just Carl Taylor helped from Mills. Esther Buser (?) and Dick Chantey married.

Week long State Fireman Convention ends with a parade today at city. We went to church, 33 out. We went to Sackets in PM to Battle of 1812 doings. Had supper with Patty and kids. Jim left today on canoe trip in Adirondacks for week. Rev. Salisbury here in evening.

Raining again. Merrill went down to farm and helped June set silo pipe back up that fell down. Gave him $5.00. David here with Carl Taylor’s bit.

Karen’s 19th birthday. Sunny today. We froze corn, 20 packages. Had been to Collin’s Real Estate.

Beautiful day. Philadelphia and Evans Mills Trustees and parsonage committee met at parsonage. 12 present. There to present 40-60% on parsonage. I made chocolate chip cookies.

Merrill worked at parsonage. We went for groceries at noon. Marty was over.

Merrill mowed lawns. I washed clothes. Line broke four times. Cloudy and muggy. My arthritis bad. Vern called in evening. They are taking Steve to school tomorrow.

June and Vern’s 23rd anniversary. They got here about 12:30. Gave them card and $25 for anniversary. They took Steve to Potsdam in PM. Came back about 8 PM and spent night. Had thunder storms in PM. Muggy all day, but cooler in evening.

Vern’s left after breakfast. They planned to go to State Fair at Syracuse. We went to church, 32 there. They had a tornado at Ellisburg yesterday. Terry and Barb Mc K in accident at Antwerp last night. Jim’s here for supper. Jim rode his bike from city out here.

Another beautiful day. Merrill repaired car holes. Joey was over several times. He and Darcy home alone today.

Washed. Cloudy day and muggy. Canned tomatoes, 8 quarts. Joe’s borrowed potatoes. He brought me potato chips that they made, good.

We went down to Hall’s camp in AM. Stopped at Fays on the way for eye drops. Made lemon pie to take. We stayed all night. Zellar’s and Terry’s there also. Hal and Kim there for lunch. Great time.
