Cloudy, rained in evening. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM.

Raining. Merrill and Bill worked at parsonage in forenoon. We went for groceries at noon. He helped load Sunday School papers in PM. UMW at Margaret Kiechle’s, 17 and Naomi there. I went with Vi.

Unemployment rates 10.4%. Vern’s got here at 5:30. Brought Cahill’s fish, apple pie. David Congdon stopped by. All here for supper. Also Rev. Salisbury. Got letter from Grace . Leslie not good.

Vern, June, and Dan got off for Potsdam, parent’s weekend, about 8 AM. Merrill and Bill worked on stove hood etc. at parsonage in AM. Got it all done. Work finally finished at parsonage. I wrote Grace.

We went to church, 74 there. Vern’s stopped in on way home from Potsdam. Jim spoke at All Souls Church in city in AM.

Dr, Scanlon 1:30. All okay. Had eyes checked for glasses as I broke mine. Changed bifocal some. Got blue brown slacks and blouse. Called Patty. Merrill went to Evelyn’s to fix water pipe in evening.

Gerald Delles brought stone dust for driveway, 5 ton, $37.66. Merrill worked at insulation over kitchen in AM. Agway Banquet very good. Evelyn, and Ellen Horton played. Fed 426 people @$6.00. Merrill won fire extinguisher.

Rebekah’s, 9 present. Merrill put more insulation over kitchen. Sent eye bill to Medicare. Sent for drivers license.

Veteran’s Day, no school or mail. Times went and we went to Bible Study at Marge Heck’s, 6 there. Furnace bothered at parsonage after they cleaned it. Called Robbin’s twice. Raining in evening.

Got letter from Uncle Berl. My arms are bad today. Storm coming. We went for groceries in AM. Warm, 60° but windy. Merrill finished insulation over kitchen and laundry room.

Merrill went to dump. Stopped at Ridsdale’s. Colder but nice all day. Washed clothes. Dan’s 3rd day at craft show at Northern Lights, Syracuse.

We went to church, 76 there. Good sermon about the rich and the poor. Jim here for supper. He didn’t go hunting. Dan’s last day at craft show.

First snow this fall. The ground was covered with snow this morning. A beautiful picture. Wrote Vern’s. Got letter from Grace Matthews. Leslie feeling better. Received 2nd church newsletter.

Ken and Eleanor’s 36th anniversary. Nice day but cold. Four spacemen back on earth. All went fine. Washed my slacks and skirts. Got letter from Melba. Leon has gone into the service. Left November 8th for Fort Leonardwood, Missouri.

Washed more of Merrill’s clothes. Merrill helped load Sunday School papers. June Ridsdale here for lunch and all PM. She and Glen having problems. Got tan bag from Ambassador Co. My birthday present. Donald and Karen Easthage (?) II have son, Donald Carl III.

Catherine Salisbury’s 66th birthday. Merrill went to Carthage to help Horton’s with Sunday School papers. Bible study. I took cupcakes with candles to celebrate Rev. Catherine’s birthday. 6 to study group.

Randy Gleason, 19 (Harry & Jane’s) and Parker boy, 15 killed by Aunt Maude’s in car accident. Parker and Gleason boys killed on corner by Clarence Schell’s at 1 AM. We went to city for my glasses. Cost $152. Got 10% senior discount. We went to Don’s and Beulah’s. Didn’t see Roy as he wasn’t home. Merrill got brown shoes. I got light for kitchen. Got letter from Debby.

Merrill cleaned church. Washed clothes. Sent Debby birthday card and note. Sent sympathy card to Harry Gleason’s. Merrill sent for car license. I sent $2.00 rebate certificate to Bright Stick Light. Merrill cleaned floors.

My birthday, 65. covered by Medicare this month. We went to church. Brenda D. gave me beautiful farm wreath she made when we were at Don’s Friday. We went to church, 72 out. Jim’s here for supper. Brought me candy.

Open House at school Took cup cakes to Joe Durgen family. Joe Sr. died Sunday.

Administrative Council at parsonage, 8 out. I went to Elsie Bacon’s 95th birthday open house at Mills with Leah. Got Thanksgiving card from Vern’s.

Snowed this PM and colder. I made pumpkin pies. We went to Thanksgiving service at Mills. Very nice. Good turnout. I worked at Charge Conference report.

Thanksgiving. We went to Jim’s. Audrey went with us. Vern, June, Steve and Dan there. Also Steve and Tina. Ground covered with snow. Nice day together. My cold worse today. Vern’s gave me Corning Ware casserole for birthday. Nice.

We went for groceries. Stopped at Aunt Maude’s for butter and coffee coupon for church stuff. Robbin’s cleaned furnace, and put on blower belt. Snowing. Plow went by.

Beautiful day. Washed clothes. Merrill ran cleaner. Aunt Maude went to Syracuse to see her sister Carrie. Merrill has cold. Jim and Explorers reset monuments at North Watertown Cemetery. Vandals did damage.

Merrill went to church, 71 out. I didn’t go as I was coughing up too much. Coughed all night. Vern’s took Steve back to college. They stopped in on way home about 3 PM.

Charge Conference at Philadelphia CEC, 22 there, 14 for supper. Merrill set up tables in PM. Took my report to Rosie to make copies. Raining.

Clinic, we went. My blood pressure 148/84, blood count is 14. Merrill’s blood pressure is 116/66, and blood count is 16. Rev. Salisbury stopped by in AM.

Beautiful warm 60° day. Merrill went to Ridsdale’s to see about check. They are behind one month. My cold horrid today. They have started work on corner for senior Citizen housing today.

UMW covered dish meeting at CEC, 15 there. Very nice. cookie exchange. Merrill and Randy put crèche up at church. We went for groceries.

Another beautiful day, 60°. Washed clothes. Merrill got manger bulbs in. Put bulb in window light at church. There are 12.000.000 unemployed.

UMW Christmas Bazaar. We made over $300.00. I gave 3 pies and hand soaps. A beautiful day. Washed clothes. Baked pies and cookies. Merrill put out candles and door wreath. Ivan Hale died of heart attack at 2 PM.

We went to church, 73 out. Aunt Maude didn’t go as she had company. Another great day. Rained some in morning. I called Audrey. She goes back to doctors on Tuesday. Jim’s fine.

Wrote Uncle Berl. Ronnie and Diane Casler have baby girl, Alecia Lynn. Sent church sales tax and my eye exam fee to Medicare. First time to Medicare for me. There was a beautiful rainbow in the north at 12:30. We went to funeral home in evening for Ivan Hale. Donna Ellis here collecting for flowers.

Lynn and Mary Hall’s 35th anniversary. Ivan Hales funeral. We went to it and to Hall’s after. Rev. Johnson had service. I got my hair cut at Tracy’s on the way home. Patty called in evening. Her mother has cancer. She will have radiation treatments in Syracuse. Colder but nice day.

We went to city shopping all day. Went to hospital to see Carl Scee. He isn’t too good. I went to Rebekah’s, 10 out. It started snowing about 10:30 PM

Ground white this morning. Plow was over. Wrote Vern’s and sent Roy P birthday card and note. We went for groceries in PM. Merrill did some wiring at parsonage for freezer. Put up Christmas decorations. Got letter from Uncle Berl.

Bible study. We didn’t go. My arthritis hurting. Merrill run cleaner. Made apple pie. Audrey called. She doesn’t have to go to Syracuse. Sent to Lane Bryant for black suit.

Our 47th anniversary. Cooked a turkey from freezer. Jim, Patty, and kids and Audrey Puffer here for PM and supper. Gave us fruit cake and Audrey towel calendar. Got anniversary card from Randy Horton.

We went to church, 92 out. Communion. Quite cold today. Worked at Christmas cards in PM. My arms very sore. Claude and Lola Wilson’s 40th anniversary.

-10° last night. Sent first Christmas cards. Sent Uncle Berl letter and $15 check. Got anniversary card from Vern’s.

Rev. Salisbury locked herself out of parsonage so Merrill had to go over and unlock door for her. I made pan of Christmas fudge. Warmer today. Got Christmas cards and note from Gehm’s.

Cloudy and warmer. My arthritis bad today. Nothing done all day. Got more Christmas cards.

We went for groceries in AM. Washed Merrill’s clothes. My arms hurting terrible . Last Bible Study in Advent. We didn’t go.

Made pumpkin cup cakes and cake. Made Christmas cookies. Sunny day and cold. Merrill cleaned church. Got more cards. Letters from June and Uncle Berl.

Sent more cards. Frosted cookies. Patty and girls called from Audrey’s.

Sunday School program, very nice. Got $118.00 for Rev. Salisbury. We went to church. Kinley and Marcie Bowers renewed wedding vows, 25 years, cake and punch afterwards. Jim, Pat and kids here. Brought gifts and kid’s pictures. Snowed some in evening.

Packed shut in baskets, 41 of them. We delivered four. Lots of help, Catholic and Methodist church. Snowing some off and on.

We went to city Christmas shopping. Got everything done. Snowing but warm. Gives one the Christmas spirit. Got new dark tan sandals.

Rebekah’s, 10 there. Christmas meeting. Had refreshments, soup, salad, rolls, cookies. I got 4 Libby glasses for gift. Played BINGO. Wrapped gifts. Vern and Gail Myers here on way to Potsdam to pick up Steven.
