PNG’s at Esther’s. 8 there. Bill and Vi Mowers sold their trailer at Clayton. We started cleaning side porch. Merrill shellacked ceiling and 2 sides. Kavanaugh’s across road started moving stuff.

We went to city. Got 2 used windows for porch on Water Street, $27. Got lumber $15. Called Marg and Roy. Marg is walking with a cane. Rainy.

Rebekah’s. I didn’t go. Wrote Uncle Berl and sent Patty card and note. Merrill pointed porch white. He mowed lawns in PM.

Patty’s 33rd birthday. Merrill worked at windows. Wrote Vern’s but didn’t get it mailed. I don’t feel very peppy. Arthritis bad.

FFA Banquet. I made a ginger bread for it. Merrill worked at windows. Patty, Jill and Joel here for lunch. Brought us birthday cake. We gave her flat iron. Sent Vern’s letter.

Armed Forces Day. We went to Fort Drum. So much to see. Big crowd. Merrill went to dump and cleaned church. Sent back jury questionnaire. Hot, 75°. Jim’s Scouts at State Office Building this week. Merrill stopped at Hall’s. S [?] Rudes and Jim Purcell married today.

Raining. Wrote Gehm’s. Sent Don birthday card. We went to church, 90 out. 2 babies baptized, Brian Shorkey and a week old baby. Aunt Maude and Cheryl went to Syracuse to see Carrie. They stopped at Orv’s. Mt. St. Helens erupted yesterday. Many lives lost.

A nice day. Merrill went to Hall’s but didn’t work. Debby is home for few days. Merrill worked at screens. Administrative Board meeting, 16 out. Last meeting with Rev. Cameron. Carl’s 52nd birthday.

Merrill worked at Hall’s in forenoon. I started cleaning upstairs. Washed bedding, curtains, clothes. Rev Cameron called me to notify Administrative Board about special meeting tomorrow night about washer and dryer. Merrill planted most of garden.

Merrill planted rest of garden. I finished cleaning upstairs. We had a special Administrative Board meeting with Rev Owen, DS. 13 people there. Decided not to buy washer and dryer for new family.

Don Gehm’s 69th birthday. Rev. Cameron’s 67th birthday. Merrill mowed the lawns. Boots and I went for groceries. I washed clothes. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Dot is out of hospital.

Vern has eye appointment, 4 PM. They got here about 6 PM. I called Patty. Baked brownies, pie, muffins, and biscuits. Carl called at 7 PM to say Evelyn Scee, 68 died tonight.

Vern’s left about 2 PM. Patty and kids came in PM and were here for supper. Vern fixed burner on my stove. I called Dorothy Hogaboom in evening. Glenda here to give me iron shot.

We went to church, 71 out. We had lunch with Aunt Maude. We went to Funeral Home for Evelyn Scee’s wake. Saw lots of folks we haven’t seen in ages. Called Marg. Got geraniums and left them at cemetery on way home. Marg and Roy came out to cemetery today. I called Uncle Berl. Good to talk to him.

Decoration Day. No mail. Evelyn Scee’s funeral at Bethany Church. Large funeral. We went to Sackets after. Jim got home from Portaferry. Had lab tests at hospital, $25.99.

Merrill started work on Gleesner’s chopper wagon. Carl Scee here in AM. Carl is going to Florida for a week or so. I washed clothes.

I called Dr. Roberts. Blood count 10.8. Blood cells normal. Continue with 3 cc iron twice a week and B-12 once a week. Merrill worked at Gleesner’s. I cleaned dining room, our bedroom, and hallway. Nice day. I went to Rebekah’s. Glenda gave me shot. Got note from Vern’s.

June R and Laura’s birthday. Merrill finished job at Gleesner’s. We went for groceries. Thunder storm and rainy in evening. Badly needed.

Jim, Kenny and Jeff here for C saw on way to Portaferry. Merrill went to dump. He cleaned church on way back. I helped at CEC making sandwiches. Merrill mowed lawn at CEC as Mr. Pancho broke lawn mower. We went to Fireman’s Parade in evening.

Merrill mowed all the lawns. Rained hard in early evening. Thunder storms. Washed clothes.

Farewell party for Cameron’s in CEC. A big crowd and all very nice. About 200 there. We went to church. Much cooler today. Rained in morning. Doris Haggerty here for lunch. She helped on reception.

Rainy off and on. We went to city. Got fan and vent stuff for bathroom at Grossman’s. Fan, $14, vent $8. Got eye drops, iron, Imferon, $23.91. Wrote Vern’s

Jim stopped by for lunch. He was speaking to the senior class at Indian River Central School at noon. Merrill started job at Horton’s. Only worked 1 hour because of rain. Glenda gave me iron shot.

Wrote Dot. Clinic. I didn’t go. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. I washed clothes and bedding. Merrill took off rest of storm windows.

UMW here, 18 present. Had party for Mrs. Cameron. Mary Hall and Carol Matt on refreshments. All very nice. Merrill run cleaner. I washed rugs and Merrill’s clothing. We for groceries. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM. Terry and Hal here in PM. Carl Scee here. He’s been sick and didn’t go to Florida.

PNG’s outing. Philadelphia Snack Bar. 9 folks went. Very nice dinner. Place was robbed last night. All food. Snow at Old Forge during night. Cold here. Merrill worked at Hall’s all day. I made cookies and cake. Glenda gave me iron shot.

Friday the 13th. Mt. St. Helen’s, Washington, blew again during night. Merrill worked at Horton’s. Wrote Angie. Washed. Nice day. Warm. Got letter from Dot M. She is having x-ray treatments. Jim called. My arthritis is bad today.

Beautiful day. Hot. Jim’s here all day. Merrill worked at Horton’s in AM. Cooked hamburgers on grill. Gave myself B-12 shot.

Rev. Cameron’s last Sunday with us. Sermon, “The Sin of Boredom”. Just great as usual. 147 present. Also honored the graduates. We went to Jim and Pat’s for dinner. Raining hard off and on. Father’s Day.

Merrill at home today. Finished mowing lawns and run rototiller in garden. Washed. I feel horrid today. My Texas cactus has three blossoms out.

We helped at parsonage all day. Rev and Mrs. Cameron spent the night here. it was too late when Allied van got loaded to weigh it. Betsy and Janet helped also. Fixed lunch etc.

Auction at Lula Rappole’s house. Cameron’s got started about 7 AM. Cloudy day. We went for groceries. Sent Roger H card, and $5. Sent Cameron’s New Home card. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM. Glenda gave me iron shot. Paid her $10. Gave myself B-12.

Nice day. We went to church. Rev. Johnson preached. Party for Donna Brancatella. We went. Also Patty and kids. Jim came for supper. He had React thing at Park in PM. Bob G called in evening to say Quick’s are coming Friday.

Merrill worked at Horton’s. Finished his job. Carl paid him 63 hours @ $4. I washed clothes. Glenda gave me iron shot. Wrote Vern’s.

Great day. Hot. We worked at Parsonage. Merrill took two loads of stuff to dump. He paid water bill, $50.

Rebekah’s last meeting until fall. We went to snack bar after Lodge. Hot, 90°. Got iron prescription from Dr. Roberts. Ate lunch outside. Merrill watered garden. He painted trim on windows black. Marg called in evening.

We went for groceries. Washed clothes. Sent June card, letter, and $5. Wrote Beulah Macklin’s. Still very hot. 90°

Rev and Mrs. Quick, David, and Karen moved into parsonage by U-Haul. Got here about 6 PM. The Matteson and Weaver families, Merrill and I helped unload. The woman of both churches took in food. Got home at 9:30 PM.

Cooler, cloudy. Washed clothes. Made cookies. Merrill mowed lawns. I called Nancy Quick. I got letter from Geneva G from Florida. Gave myself B-12 shot.

Glaucoma, 10 years. I use 4% Isopto Carpine at least 5 times a day. Also 1% Epifrin at bedtime. We went to church. 61 out. Rev Johnson’s last Sunday. Jim, Pat and kids here in PM. Brought their bikes and rode all over. Nice day, but rain and stormy in evening.

Appointment with Dr. Scanlon, $25. All OK. Had lab tests at hospital, $25.99. Got drugs at Fays, over $50. We went to Marg and Roy’s. Had supper at Don and Juanita’s. Don’s new silo nice. cost $6400.
