Cool but no rain. We went to church. Merrill mowed rest of lawn in PM. Gladys and Ted Lamen stopped by in early evening. We went over to Bill and Brenda’s after ladder in evening. Called Aunt Keitha. Lyle still in hospital.

Sent June card, letter, and $5. VBS starts. Merrill worked at barn wall. I called Dr. Roberts but he wasn’t in.

There are 76 police on City Force. Called Dr. Roberts. Appointment July 1 at 4 PM. Rained most of day. Merrill worked on barn. Lorraine B. called.

June’s 36th birthday. Rebekah’s last meeting until September. 11 present. We went to Igloo for ice cream after Lodge. If is being enlarged. Will be nice. Bill D went after more cement blocks for Merrill at Taylor’s. 24 @$.34. Washed clothes.

Vern called in morning. Are coming up Sunday for the day. Boots and I went for groceries. Merrill finished laying cement blocks. Made rolls. Washed Merrill’s clothes. Howard and Evelyn were over for coffee.

Uncle Lloyd here when I got up. He got to Aunt Maude’s at 10 AM yesterday. He and Merrill went over to help Bill on his barn but he was sawing lumber. Merrill and Uncle Lloyd went for ride to Oxbow, Antwerp etc. Cleaned.

Got letter from Beulah Hall. I have had glaucoma 4 years ago today. Rained off and on all day. Merrill mowed lawn between showers. Alton’s longhorn cattle auction. Small crowd. Carl Horton and kids here in PM.

Vern and June and boys got here about 9:30. Vern and June went to church with Merrill, communion. They left about 7 PM. Nice visit. Vern showed slides of his Korea trip. Rained off and on all day.

Dr. Roberts, 4 PM. Next shot in 3 weeks. Merrill finished barn wall. Put siding back on. We went to city. Merrill got battery at Agway for baler, $18. Stopped at Brenda and Bill’s. His folks there helping. His two nephews there to stay. Grahams new house set up today.

Cheryl Ashley’s Fashion Wagon Party at 7:30. I went. Ordered slacks. Merrill helped Bill D all day on his barn. Rainy. Leslie and Grace here awhile. Had been to Steeles. Mother T was at Aunt Cora’s. Got letter from Steve and June.

Raining hard. Merrill helped at Bills in afternoon. Terrible rain storms Syracuse way.

90° and hot. Merrill helped Bill on his barn in PM. I washed clothes. Merrill mowed tall grass with Halls hand Scythe.

We went to city. Looked at chopper wagon at Champion. Got outfit, shirt and pants, for Jolie for birthday. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries.

Merrill helped all day at Bill’s. His father, and brother their also. I washed clothes. I painted half of kitchen woodwork. Washed my hair. Gave Boots a bath.

Church starts a 9:15 now. We went. Danny Taylor guest at church. He sang and gave service. Church was full. 158. We took Boots for a ride in PM.

Bowman’s and Black’s at Aunt Maude’s. Merrill mowed first hay, across from house. He got baler going. Great day. Jim, Pat and Jolie here for supper. Gave her pant suit, 2 cars and 2 books for birthday Wednesday. Jim mowed all 3 lawns and took cans to dump. Got letter from Beulah M.

Merrill and Boots went to Theresa bank. Had vet for cow. She came into barn in morning and fell onto floor, $10. He thought she hurt her back. I finished painting kitchen woodwork. Bad storm after supper. Got letter from June. Beulah is moving outside of Adams village.

PNG’s at Carries. Jolie’s 3rd birthday. Merrill went to Gouverneur to get car inspected. He has to have glass for tale light. He got work shoes at Agway, $23.15. We went to city and Adams. Ordered glass at Lathan’s, $6.25

Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. We drawed first load of hay this year. Murphy here with gas. He says coal is $57 a ton now.

Grand day. We drawed 3 load of hay. Baler broke. Wrote Don’s and sent anniversary card. Washed my hair in evening.

Merrill got baler fixed and we baled rest of hay. Nice day. Merrill mowed more hay. Wilford Lloyd came after sick cow, $10. I made brownies. Also mayonnaise with mixer. Turned out good.

Merrill went to church. Steve goes to Aldersgate. Vern’s got here about 10 AM. We ate picnic lunch then we took Steve to Aldersgate. It is so nice up there. Rev. Frank Smith is Dean. Kids left for home about 7:30. Kitty White had accident by Hank Schell’s at 3:30 this morning.

Revival starts at 7:30. We went. Great program. Pretty good crowd. Rained this AM. Merrill got hair cut. Don and Juanita’s 24th anniversary. I have head ache. Washed clothes. Got record of Floyd and Fran Sears gospel songs, $5.

Wrote Steve at Camp Aldersgate. Wrote Beulah. Went after Larry Ashley. He brought hamster. Jim’s here for lunch. He helped draw hay. Beulah called from Ken’s. She is coming the 24th. We went to Revival in evening. Merrill mowed hay.

Nice day. Drawed 3 load of hay. Merrill raked some. 814 bales so far. Sent $20 to Watertown Daily Times for 1 year subscription.

Baked cakes and pumpkins pies. Hay dry enough to bale in PM. Pat and his father helped on 1 1/2 loads. Larry and I went to Philadelphia for groceries and to Aunt Maude’s in evening. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Sent $20 to Times and Ad to T&C paper about combine. Beulah called. She is coming Monday.

Dr. Scanlon, 10:30. Everything OK so far. We drawed hay in PM. 1130 bales in. Rained terrible about 3:15 PM. Rained bad at city in AM with wind and lots of damage. Larry and I went to Revival. Power off so Merrill couldn’t go.

Larry Ashley’s 11th birthday. Made him cupcakes birthday cake. Merrill and Larry went to Karate exhibition. I made cookies and cake. Cleaned and washed. We all went to Revival in evening. Merrill mowed hay in AM. Larry went up to Aunt Maude’s for supper.

Last day of Revival. We went to church picnic, Gospel sing and evening service. All just great. Good crowds all week. All meetings inside school except for picnic and Gospel sing. Too cold for outside.

4-H kids take items to fair. Alison, Lorraine, Marie, and Vicky took stuff. Several blue ribbons. Mary went with us. Larry went up to Aunt Maude’s. Lyla and Jim and Jerry brought him back. We drawed hay. Pat and his father helped, 2 loads. Ken and Lois brought Beulah in evening.

Cleaned up hay, 1411 bales in so far. Started raining in PM. Mr. Brancatella helped last load. Beulah and I went to PNG’s at Carrie Thompson’s. 16 out, nice time.

Dr. Roberts, 3 PM. Went to Antwerp cemetery. Beulah put flowers on Les’s grave. Picked up Larry. Took Beulah to visit Dexter Hall awhile. We went up to Park. Merrill got glass for tail light on car at Latham’s. I took Beulah to Ruby Guterriz [?] to stay over night. Called Jim’s. He is home with bad back.

Patty goes to Ada, Michigan to Amway Plant. 4-H day at Fair. We went. Larry came home with Jim Bush’s. Jamie couldn’t take part in 4-H horse show as Georgia took papers to Syracuse with her. Merrill mowed hay in evening. Sold combine to Roger Bening [?] for $300.

Cloudy day. Merrill took car to Gouverneur for inspection. Had horn fixed. Put in tail light glass, $29. Got letter from Borden’s. Can’t send milk until cows are inspected by vet. Jim and Jolie here for supper and spent the night. Patty is in Michigan.

Everyone up early this morning. Jim, Jolie and I went to grocery store. Larry went with Cheryl all day. Aunt Maude and Ella gave me tatted hanky when they brought Larry home. Had vet Miller Cook from Carthage for cows. Jim went to Rudes 40th anniversary and on to Syracuse for Patty.

Merrill and Larry went to church. Jolie and I stayed home. Jim and Pat got here about 1 PM. We had cook out. Cornish hens, good. Larry and Pat found 4 baby birds in tree by garage. Patty had good trip to Michigan, but tiring.

We drawed 2 load of hay before thunder storm hit about 4 PM. I did big washing. Merrill went to Mills in morning for medicine for cows. Pat and family baled most of hay by house.

Cloudy day. Rainy. We went out to Mom’s for dinner. Took TV dinners. Larry rode horse at Don’s. Marva B goes into hospital. Rev B at Aldersgate.

Marva B. has operation. Called Leah about flowers for Marva. Merrill and Larry helped Bill on barn in PM. Got inflations at Agway. I washed clothes. Mended. Wrote Vern’s. Vi was home and called in PM. They have been to Canada. Beula H called in evening. She goes to Syracuse tomorrow.

Dr. Roberts, 3:30. He called and I went at 1 PM. We went to Fays. Ate at Carrolls. Larry was sick in night. I woke up sick. Merrill and Larry got load of hay in PM alone. Beulah H went to Syracuse with Adderley’s. Got letter from June. Sent in film. Got 50 # potatoes at Johnnies, $4.50

Cloudy in AM. Hot in PM. Drawed 2 load of hay. Went to Philadelphia for groceries. Sent Marva card at Mercy hospital. Got note from Dot Medina. 1800 bales in barn. Roy Petrie called about hay. Talked with Aunt Maude twice.

Frog Jumping at Philadelphia. Cheryl came after Larry in AM. Petrie’s here in AM about hay. I mopped kitchen floor. Washed clothes. Merrill mowed house lawn. Cloudy most of day.

We all went to church. Communion. Larry’s first communion. We took picnic lunch and ate by St. Lawrence River. Patsy went with us. Rained terrible after lunch so we got home about 2 PM. Boots went with us.

I wrote Andy at Camp Aldersgate. Larry wrote Jennifer Bush. Craig Bening here to see Larry in PM. Also Patsy. Merrill built fence. Got wet. Rained hard in PM. Vi, Martha, and kids here in evening. Brought back bed rail. Cheryl called in evening. There is a Pastor Parish meeting tomorrow night.

Andy’s 13th birthday. Pastor Parish meeting, 7:30. Jim McEtherin was there. A sad meeting and a sorry affair. Brenda, Mark, and Robin here in PM. Got letter from June. Evelyn sent over beans and beets.

A nice day. Merrill mowed and raked hay. We only drawed one load as we got stuck coming across field. Petrie’s started haying here. Got a flat tire on baler. Pat’s plastic twine wouldn’t work so he couldn’t bale. Dawn here about all day.

President Richard M. Nixon resigned. Gerald Ford sworn in as 38th President of United States. First time in history a president has resigned. Sent Holly card and wrote Vern’s at Wisconsin. Merrill mowed all 3 lawns. I washed clothes. Dawn here all PM. Merrill mowed hay. Mowed away yesterday’s hay in AM.

A nice day. We drawed 2 load of hay. Larry went with Jim to Pamela Field Days.

Horse show at Theresa. A huge crowd. Show lasted until midnight. Over 1 50 entries. We went to church. Went to horse show in PM and evening. Larry and Dawn went in evening. Lila and Jerry brought Larry home. Church picnic and baptism at Taylor’s camp.

Holly’s 14th birthday. PNG’s at Diane’s. Marguerite, Mary and I on with her. Cookies and Jell-O. Jim, Pat and Jolie here for lunch and supper. Helped hay it. Dawn and patsy here most of day. Drawed 2 load of hay. Started filling small mow.
