Colder today. I went to Bible Study with Ruth. Carol and Mrs. Bennett went with us. I made a cheesecake for first time. Very good. Jim, Pat and Jolie here for PM and supper. Brought Amway order.

4-H Leaders Meeting at Fire Hall. Mary and I went. 14 there. Merrill and Pat built fence. Bill, Brenda and Mark over in evening. Mark is so cute. Mrs. Daye called at noon. Made final plans for District Meeting.

Rainy and cold. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Merrill kept cows in for first night this fall.

Taylor’s 28th anniversary. Mary Hall and Aunt Maude’s birthdays. We went to city. Got groceries for District Luncheon. Can’t get squash at Adams Center. May get it at Theresa. We went out to Mom’s. Don is building shed over barn cleaner.

Cloudy day. Some rain. Merrill helped work on CEC steps in PM. Joyce and some were working raking leaves on church lawn. Spent most of day and evening on telephone. Mostly 4-H. Washed clothes. Washed my hair in evening. Sent Steve card. Sent Halloween cards.

Beautiful day. Today would have been Mom and Dad’s 59th anniversary. We went to church. Rally Day. They took up a collection for Blanche and Joe LaLonde. I stopped at Vickie’s for candy money. Oakland A’s won World Series over NY Mets.

No school or mail, Veteran’s Day. Lorraine and I went to Lafargeville for cottage cheese and to Ryor’s for turkey. I got Halloween party stuff for 4-H. We took 6 turkey’s to Brown’s to freeze. Took 1 to Esther’s and brought 1 home.

A beautiful day. I went to Bible Study. Merrill painted barn doors. I went up to CEC in PM to help set up tables. We set up for 94 downstairs. Made cheese cake and got vegetables ready in evening. Talked to several on phone.

Black River Ontario UMW District Meeting. 107 to dinner at Philadelphia CEC. A beautiful day. Rebekah’s. I went. Only 13 out. Merrill put shingles on barn. Roger H. hurt selling first aid kits.

Steven’s 9th birthday. Sent Ed and Irene Bennett 50th wedding anniversary card. Merrill went to Mills for nails. I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Took luncheon money to Margaret M. Another beautiful day. Merrill shingled on back of barn.

4-H party at Brancatella’s. 48 there in all. Girls invited guests. Several parents there. A great time by all. I called several about Election Supper. I made punch for party.

Charge Conference Meeting at Evans Mills, 7:30. We went. Taylor’s went with us. Matt only other one. Stopped at Taylor’s for ice cream afterwards. Washed clothes. Tired today.

Video Tape Church. 7:30. We didn’t go. We went to church. Went to city after church. Saw Jim at Fays. Jo LaLonde had foot amputated.

Colder. Rainy in late PM. Jim, Patty, and Jolie here for lunch and supper. Jolie sure is busy and so cute. I made 2 apple pies.

4-H Banquet, 7:30. We went. Very nice. Lynn and Mary came home with us after Banquet. Very foggy. Sent for Moody Monthly for Uncle Berl and us, $12. Sent Election Supper notices to radio and TV. Todd Keichel went to hospital. Also Betty Rudes.

Halloween. I have been sick all day. Merrill went to city with Pat. 11 kids here in evening.

Sick in bed all day. Wasn’t dressed. Some called about supper. Mary Bishop Clarke died yesterday. She was 54.

4-H canceled as I don’t feel up to it. Called several about Election Dinner. Raining in evening. Talked with Vi. She goes to hospital Sunday for ear operation.

Cleaned house in evening. Colder and windy. We went to Philadelphia for groceries in morning. Got supper groceries also. We went to city in PM. Ordered blower motor, $50. I got Nylon coat at FBC. Merrill got winter rubbers. Got bushel of cabbage for supper.

Vi went to Mercy Hospital. A beautiful day but cold wind. We went to church. Went up to Joyce’s for squash. Bought lunch to bring home at Igloo. Grant Northrus here in evening. Talked with Marguerite and Aunt Maude. Gave out slips to call.

Church Board meeting at CEC. Merrill went. Church real good financially. I baked squash. Got dressing stuff, and pies. Wrote Beulah Hall. Wrote Mom. Cold. They are getting snow in several places.

Election day. John Keichel, Philadelphia supervisor. Hale’s went with us to vote. I was number 107, Merrill 108. We took stuff up to church and CEC and cabbage to school. Had first election supper in CEC building. People from Carthage, Watertown Black River there. My 12th year as chairman.

Margaret M and I cleaned up remains of supper at CEC and church. Took pies to Martha’s to freeze for Sunday. We went to Bill and Brenda’s. Merrill got tires changed at Agway for winter. Mom called in evening. Called Martha M. Vi is not too good.

Karen Stafford from Minetto called. She live at the city. Wrote Vi. Pat Brancatella had tractor tip over on him about 11:30. Merrill and I took him to Mercy hospital. He as broken collar bone. Mary Hall took Lorraine and I to city in evening. We visited Vi. I saw her this PM also. She is much better today.

Lorraine B and I went to Philadelphia to bank and got groceries. Lorraine, Merrill and I went to hospital to see Pat. He has internal chest injuries. Cold all day. Colder in evening.

Got note from June. Took Lorraine to city. I got blower motor at Sears, $60. Got two bedspreads, green, at Grants for stairway. Got print blouse, $5. Men got Pat’s tractor righted. Lynn, Howard and Merrill cleaned away manure pile. Most of it Brotherton left. We went to youth Rally at Mills in evening.

A great day. We went to church to covered dish dinner and 3 PM concert. Good turnout to all. Pat’s father drove Pat’s car to hospital this PM. Pat not as good Lorraine said. Merrill put motor on furnace blower.

Wrote Vern. Merrill took Lorraine and Mr. and Mrs. Brancatella to hospital. Pat may come home tomorrow. I stayed with Tina and Tony. Cheryl H. called and asked me to take her place at Parish-Pastor meeting. Got home at 11:15. I put up curtains on stairway.

Agway dinner. I went to work at 2 PM. Got home at 11. Had 580 at $4.50 to be used on CEC house. Jim’s here in PM and supper. Brought my locket watch, $9.63 repair. Pat Brancatella came home from hospital. I didn’t go to Bible Study. Had to fill my pies.

Tired today. A beautiful day. We went to Joyce’s for squash and store for groceries. Got 3 red enamel dishes at store free. Rebekah’s had service for Lawrence at Philadelphia funeral home. Merrill and I went. I didn’t go to Lodge.

Raining. Sent for car license. Sent Ken’s card and note. Cooked squash for Legion Supper. Merrill went up to Carl Horton’s to measure door. Aunt Maude goes to doctor tonight. Washed clothes.

Ken and Eleanor’s 27 anniversary. UMW meeting at Theresa. I took Vi, Lila, Carrie, Lois and Margaret. Very nice. Was on Gateway with Charles Murray speaking and showing movie. I cleaned oven and refrigerator. Mopped kitchen floor. Aunt Maude called. She got caste off. Ross Belcher in hospital, very bad.

Legion Supper, Fed 228 or so. Sure a hard place to work. I got home at 11:20. I made pies in AM. Went to work at 3 PM. Cold today. Jim Matteson is in Carthage hospital.

Sgt. Kenley Bower’s last Air Force show on WOTT. Joyce called. We have $2215.57 to pay on CEC from suppers. We went to church. Not too many out but a great Thanksgiving sermon. A lazy day. Too tired to do anything.

Rev. B is on radio this week. PNG’s at Marguerites. 12 out. I cleaned upstairs. Merrill put wood down cellar. Sent our life insurance. Merrill had $1085.20 + $145.17 int. Mine is $679.60 + $94.09 int. Took it out in 1963.

I went to Bible Study. Jim, Pat, and Jolie here for lunch and supper. Bought one box of candy and cards. They had Pat’s mother’s car. She is in Ohio at her sons. I called Vern’s and Mom. Ken’s are coming Thursday. Got groceries.

My birthday, 56th. Vi goes to doctors. I took her. She is coming OK. Got sheets and cases for Roberta for wedding present. Got roaster for Patty. Pat called and wanted us to come after pork. They gave us so much. Had liver for supper. Got cards and letter from Eleanor. Sent Debbie card, and $1.

Debby’s 14th birthday. Thanksgiving Day. A beautiful day. Vern, June and boys got here about 9:30. Ken’s came at 12:30. Just Holly with them. Mom not feeling good so she didn’t come.

Another nice day. Vern’s left about 3:45. I got letter from Beulah Hall. Also one from Helen Dickson asking for Rebekah receipt that Leah hasn’t sent her. Terrible foggy in evening and all night.

4-H here at 1:30. 11 here, also Diane and Debby Preston. Started “Food, Let’s Begin.” Cloudy day. Rainy. I’m tired today for some reason. Brancatella’s company left today.

A cloudy day. Cold wind. We went to church. Carrie T rode with us. Merrill went over to Pat B in PM. He got his car going. Talked with Aunt Maude. Pres. Nixon on TV asking for 15% cut in oil and gas. No Sunday stations.

Nice day. Washed my hair. Bill here with fuel oil. First time in a month. Put in 174 gal @.24. Cleaned out dish drawer. Got letter ready to send Mother T. Sent money to Salvation Army, Holy Land Mission, and Order to 4-H for photo albums for Christmas gifts. Merrill and Boots went to bank and store.

Sent letters I got ready yesterday. Very cloudy. I want to Bible Study with Ruth. Jim, Patty, and Jolie here for supper. Brought $7 dishwasher powder. Jolie fell downstairs. Had scraped nose.

Wrote Vern’s. I had leg cramps all night long. Tired all day. Windy, rainy day. I didn’t go to Lodge. Lois L called to say window is out of Lodge Hall in front. Carl H here for Merrill to fix his milk house door.

No cramps today. Nice day. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Merrill took Terry’s telescope home. Evelyn said Debbie is engaged to Rick. Terry here in evening.

Snow on ground in morning but it melted. Dr. Scanlon, 2 PM. Everything OK. Got some Christmas shopping done. Ruth Eg and I went to church service at Mannsville with Mattingly’s. Very good. James Howard, 19, Antwerp has been missing 1 week.

Washed clothes. Made cheesecake. Got Christmas card and $10 from Dot Medina. First card. Made triple batch of fried cakes. Merrill and Carl K covered windows in Lodge Hall. Drove out doves in attic. [at Lodge}

We went to Mom’s for dinner. Didn’t go to church.

Sent Dot M package, towel set and wooden beads and earrings. Bible Study. A beautiful day. Saw Doris haggerty at city. I went to city shopping most of day. Cleaned mess on Lodge floor from doves. Jr. Hale had accident.

UMW 6:30 supper at CEC. Very nice supper and program. 24 there. I went to Bible Study. Esther and I set up table afterwards. Cloudy, warm day. Washed clothes. Got Christmas letters from Mother T. and Pauline.
