Gave Boots worm kills. Food sale Confirmation class, cookies and cup cakes. They made good on it. Boots and I went to Philadelphia in morning. I made over bedroom curtains in both rooms upstairs. Dyed bedspreads and rugs. Washed quilts. Washed my hair.

Got Jim’s green striped sheets for anniversary. Sun out today. Sure is great. Didn’t last long. Raining by noon. Rained all day. We went to Weston’s in PM. Got shower curtain and window curtain for bathroom. Stopped at Pearl Hoteling’s, Merrill’s cousin. Aunt Cora at Edna’s. Edna is in hospital.

Rainy. Wrote Uncle Berl. IOOF Meeting. Merrill went. I cleaned laundry room. Also washed bedroom curtains. Cleaned silverware in evening. Pat and Jim called. Jolie had x-ray on her leg yesterday.

Patty’s Pearl Party. I didn’t go to it. PNG’s at Hall. 16 out. Nice time. Vivian, Lois L and Minnie W on committee. I went to Bible Study with Ruth. Only one more until fall.

Rebekah’s. I went. Some went to Igloo after Lodge. A beautiful day. Merrill mowed all three lawns. They look great. I weeded Iris. Put up new lawn fence, white plastic. Got plants up from cellar. Turned the cows out for first time this year, days and nights.

We went to play at school “Deadwood Dick” Larry Patchen and men spray painted house roof. We gave him $55 for his work. We used 5 gallon of Agway paint, total $69.75. Got letter from June. Boots and I went to bank and grocery store. Merrill put dirt on flowers. Betty Haggerty went to hospital.

Merrill went to auction at Ogdensburg with Pat B. Wrote Vern’s. Talked with Aunt Maude and Marguerite B. Marguerite’s daughter had brain tumor operation at 1 today. There is a leak thru the kitchen ceiling from the bathroom sink.

Washed my hair. Gave Boots a bath. Cloudy day off and on. Rained in evening. We planted glads and dahlias. Went to Theresa for plants. Took them to cemetery. Set some by flag pole. Got wire fence at Seaway.

Mom called in morning. Marg went to hospital Wednesday. We didn’t go to church. Went out home for dinner. Mom came home with us. Stopped at hospital to see Marg. She is some better. Art and Doris here in evening.

Rained all day. We went up to Uncle Len’s in PM. Betty coming good. She got home from Mercy Hospital Friday, Memorial day. Betty’s 69th birthday today.

I have had glaucoma for three year since I found out. Last Bible Study until fall. I didn’t go. Leslie, Grace and Mother T here for supper and all night. Jim, Pat and Jolie here for supper also. Gave them anniversary gift, sheets. Washed clothes. Washed Mom’s hair.

Howard and Evelyn’s 21st anniversary. Leslie, Grace and Mother T left about 10 AM. Were going to stop at Rodman cemetery. Merrill’s leg is bothering him, arthritis.

Raining. Sent Jim’s cards to Edna Hoskey and Aunt Cora. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Made donuts. Merrill had bad leg. Nora, Linda, and Ken L and Lorraine here in evening. Joyce called to ask me to be Pres. of UMW. Said I would for 1 year.

Took Mom home. Visited Edith Seeley, Clara Zufelt, and Marg. Marg not as good. I got home at 8:30. Merrill mowed lawns. Grass very tall because of all the rain. Didn’t rain at Mom’s. Don put new door on for Mom with glass front.

A beautiful day but cool. I planted flower seeds. Washed sheets and Merrill’s clothes. Merrill got hair cut at Theresa. Fireman’s Fields Days but we didn’t go. Washed my hair.

A most beautiful day. We went to church. Had a fish fry at Fireman’s Field Day after church. Heard Philadelphia band. Went for ride in PM. Stopped at Mrs. Beardsley’s awhile. Aunt Maude called.

We went to city for new kitchen sink faucets, $20.32 on sale. Council of Ministries, 8 out to it. Made plans for Revival. IOOF meeting. Merrill went. They are having another meeting next week. Put car through car wash on Arsenal Street.

Beautiful hot day, 87° in PM. Merrill put on new sink faucet. Very nice. I washed half of porch windows. 6 yet to do. Mrs. Beardsley and Harriet Burke [?] stopped in a few minutes. Got letter from June. Got wedding invitation to Sharon and Larry’s wedding.

4-H here, 10 present. Also Bertha Gleason of North Carolina. Very hot all day. Rained in evening. Washed some more windows. We went to Gouverneur. Couldn’t get lime yet. I called several about Telephone Revival Marathon.

Revival Telephone Prayer Marathon starts today at 10 AM. Marg went home from hospital. Power off over 2 hours in morning. Merrill mowed lawns. Jim, Pat, and Jolie here for supper. Bradley Payne in hospital. Pat Brancatella got rest of cows, 22 cows.

4-H softball game at Halls. About 60 out to it, 42 kids. A lot of fun. We planted tomato plants and cukes. A beautiful day. Windy 80°. Dyed bathroom rugs.

Rain in morning. Cleared in PM. Quite windy until evening. Jim, Pat and Jolie and Rose Blade here for supper. Washed my hair. Mopped floors. Aunt Maude called in evening.

Martha Meek’s 29th birthday. Vern’s start on trip to Pennsylvania, NJ etc. Blankenship’s 12th anniversary. We went to church. Willabelle B, Lorraine, Marie Gleason, Athena Hanlon and Randy Horton joined church. Church almost full. We drove out to hospital. Mary has gone home. Got Mom’s shoes.

Very hot, 90°. UMW at Center. Election of officers. I’m Pres., Joyce and Esther, VP, Margaret K Sec, Margaret M Treas. I was on committee. Molded salad and rolls, ice tea and lemonade. IOOF meeting. Not enough came for it. Merrill painted church porch roof under side.

Jim’s go to Rochester for visit. Hot and humid. Thunder and rain storm in PM. I cleaned bathroom. Got letter from Debby. Mom has a dog. Mary and Aunt Esther not too good. Called Aunt Maude.

Rebekah’s. I went alone. Rain, hail, hot, humid and thunder storm today. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Called five about Revival Telephone Prayer Marathon.

Vern’s got home from trip. Nice day. We went to city and out to Mom’s. Also stopped at Mary’s. Merrill got driver’s license renewed. Took Mom pocketbook for birthday. Mom has a cute puppy, “Rex”

Wrote Vern’s. Washed clothes. Merrill mowed all the lawns. We went to Dick Ennis to see about a baler. Rained all PM. I got tooth filled, $8. Dr. S. [?]

4-H Demonstration Dairy at city, 9:30. No one went. Rained hard just about all day. Washed bedding. Cleaned with cleaner. Washed my hair. and put color rinse on it. Merrill and Boots went to Theresa.

Mom’s 81st birthday. A nice day but cool. We went to church. 9 graduates present. Had reception for them. Willabelle, Noreen, and Diane Riley. We went for ride in PM. Antwerp, Philadelphia, Mills, Theresa.

Raining again. PNG’s to McCormick’s, Clayton Smorgasbord, $4.50. Very nice, 18 present. Including Cathy A, Esther, Leah, Marguerite. Cathy drove. I went with Cathy. June called in AM. Dan coming July 19.

VBS Meeting at 1 PM. Lasted 2 hours. Jim’s here in PM and evening. We went over to Howard and Evelyn’s in evening.

Kessel’s birthday. Hot all day, 89°. I made cookies and brownies. New York Milk Inspector here. All OK. Merrill and Boots went to Mills for fly spray. Merrill and Boots got woodchuck in front of house. Called several about Telephone Prayer Marathon.

First day of summer. Cloudy and muggy. Some showers. Merrill mowed all three lawns. Merrill had tooth pulled at Theresa, $5. Worked at Bible School lessons most all day. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Jim called. Called him back.

A nice day. No rain. We went to Jim and Pat’s. Merrill helped Jim put up cement block chimney. They got it over half done. We had picnic dinner,. First this year. Ivan hale Sr. had accident at Philadelphia.

Sharon Hall and Virgil, Larry, Patchin Jr. wedding. A beautiful wedding and reception. Also a beautiful day. Reception was at Willowbrook. About 150 to wedding. We attended both.

Another beautiful day. We went to church. It was full. Sunday School pins given out. 57 perfect attendance. Lori Heck, 5 years. We ate lunch at Theresa Diner. Took VBS materials up to CEC in PM.

Merrill mowed first hay, across road. Vacation Bible School starts. I teach 5th grade. Dawn, Dale Hale, Allison, and Dale Eg rode with me. I have 11 in my room. Dale Besaw and Denise S. helped me. We went to Jim’s. Men finished chimney. Wrote June and sent birthday card.

June’s 35th birthday. A really hot day, 88°. Merrill got baler running. He put new coil on it, $7. He and Boots went to Theresa. A good day at VBS. A new pupil in class, 12 in all. Dale helped. Laura P rode today also.

Very hot. Still more kids at VBS. I have 13 now. Rob Maloy died today. Merrill mowed more hay. Raked some. Donna cut my hair in evening. Gave her $2.

Rained some today. Revival starts at 7:30. We went. Very good. “The Something New” group sang. Cindy was there with the Shelmidine’s. Also Rev. Miles Hutchinson’s. I made cup cakes for tomorrow. Rev. C. Williams spoke.

Revival VCS, 178 kids. Good turn out. Hewitt Indian family sang. Very good. They had it outside on ball park. Rev. C. Williams spoke. VBS kids sang.

A beautiful day. Revival. We went to program in PM. Rev Williams did karate and weight lifting. I washed clothes. Merrill mowed two lower lawns. A wonderful sermon. Lorraine folks here again to it.

Revival. A grand day. We went to church picnic songfest and service. Sorry to see it end. Had hamburgers at Igloo on way home. Lorraine folks out to it for 3rd night.

Went to Burrville for spring for baler. Got it going and baled first hay this year. Baled two loads. Very hot. Wrote Beulah Hall.

Rose Lanphere, Evans Mills, died of cancer. Cleaned up hay, 451 bales. Very heavy. Merrill went to Theresa for shear bolts and spark plug. I painted black railing and post lamp.

Frog jumping at Philadelphia. We didn’t go to it. Too hot. Merrill mowed hay back on 17 acres in AM. Raining some in evening. Lots of accidents in evening.

Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Merrill raked hay. Sent Vern’s note. Merrill went to Mills for twine, $7.50 a bale now. I cleaned upstairs. Waxed all the floors up there. Broke dresser mirror in Jim’s room. Cleaned kitchen, dining room, and bed room floors.

Drawed 2 loads of hay and also trailer full. 651 bales now. Cooler today. I waxed porch floors. Washed Merrill’s clothes and rugs. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Gave myself a Toni in evening. Arnold Graham here, 2 1/2 hours. Postponed picnic to July 15.

Quite windy. Merrill mowed hay in PM. He got hair cut in AM. I went to Pearls Store. I washed table clothes and dresses in evening. Gave Boots a bath.
