4-H here. Election of officers. All here but Robin and Tammy Hall. Raining. Mom called from Uncle Len’s. She and Elgin were up there. Ken is in the hospital. Went last Wednesday. Ward Mount died this morning. Jim and Pat here for supper.

Bible Study at Joyce’s. I went with Ruth. 12 there. Merrill and I went to hospital to see Ken. We saw him, Eleanor, Carmy Bowman, and Hollis. Ken went home. We went to Jim and Pat’s. Their place looks so nice.

Rebekah’s installation, 58 present. Betty P. NG, Nancy Rose VG, Bea Hubbard DDP. Got card from Gehm’s in MY City. Hair appointment. Debby didn’t show up. Got letter from Roberta at college. Merrill stored machinery, chopper etc.

Jim and Pat’s house closing. Rainy about all day. Got letter from June. We went out to Lorraine. Merrill and Uncle Lloyd helped Don on his barn. I took Mom to Adams. Baltimore won World Series. Toby and Karen have baby girl, Shay Marie.

Kept cows in all night for first. A few snow flurries in the air. Have had no frost yet. Merrill took car to Gouverneur to have fluid cleaned out $24. Transmission. Joyce was down to plan election supper.

Down to 32° this morning. They got frost south of here. Also snow but we haven’t any here. Merrill helped put on garage door at Parsonage. I went to city. Got Steve game and wallet for his birthday.

Esther and Floyd Taylor’s 35th anniversary and open house. First frost last night. Merrill kept cows in barn last night. We went to Vern and Junes for dinner. Bea and Don there too. Vern’s have honey bees in attic. Men put couch in play room as Vern’s are getting new love seats.

Washed clothes. Cleaned house. Merrill started plowing. Nice day. Is in tonight’s paper that Toby and Karen have baby girl. PNG’s at Aunt Maude’s. Only 10 out.

Bible study at Esther’s. 14 there. I went with Anne. Merrill plowed. Marie Gleason here in evening to cut out 4-H outfit. Cut out my brown jumper in evening.

Made green plaid jumper. Also brown jumper. Did ironing. Rained off and on all day. Merrill plowed some.

Did hand sewing on jumpers. Rainy day. Sent $2 for faucets of Fabrics [?] to Home Demonstration office. Merrill went to Theresa for window glass for barn.

Very foggy in morning. I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Had a flat tire. Sent Steve birthday card. Merrill started work on feed room. Gathered part of dahlias . Lula Rappole some better. Burley Bates, 54 killed in accident last night. 7 others in accident.

Ivan Hales Auction, Mrs. Bullard’s Theresa. Nice day. Ground fog in AM. Got letter from June. They are coming next weekend. Made cookies. Patty called. She is out of work with cold. Jim going hunting Monday and Tuesday.

Steve’s 6th birthday. We went to church. Went to Adams Center for vegetables for election supper. Ate lunch at Grants. Saw Harold and A Tibbles at Grants. Heard today that Lois Hanlon is marrying Kenneth Thomas. Mailed cards at city for Lula R and Willabelle Brown.

Made pies. Merrill worked on parsonage garage door. He and Bob F. I went to Church Council meeting. First one I was elected Sec. Bill H. Pres. Wrote June and Vern.

We had guest speaker at Bible Study. Jimmy Young from Word Life Institute. Merrill and Bob F finished doors on parsonage. I got letters ready to send radio stations for supper. Called several about slips.

Rebekah’s. Betty not there so VG Nancy Rose in charge. Wrote Uncle Berl, Vern’s, and radio stations. I’ve had headache all day. Cleaned house. Got letters from Dot. She has been in hospital.

I went to city for turkey and groceries for election supper. Times ad is $9.80 now. Saw Dorothy H. Merrill plowed back of barn. Called Jim and Pat. They are both sick with colds and not working.

4-H Halloween party at L Halls about 50 there. Very nice time. Vern, June and boys came in evening for weekend. Steve has been sick. Vern, June and Dan were sick all night.

Sick feeling better. Lazy day. I took hot dish to church for MYF happenings. Got groceries. Only 8 kids here in evening trick or treating.

We all went to church. Rev Jimmy DeYoung preached. Steve and Dan so good in church. Aunt Maude and Cathy were there. Church full. Vern, June and boys left at 3 PM. I cooked cranberries in evening. Broke up bread for dressing.

Merrill sick with the bug this morning. He ordered gravel for barn yard. They brought 2 load. I get celery and onions cooked for dressing. 4 kids here hurt in accident near Schell’s last night.

WSCS Election Day Supper. I was sick all day but got through it. Good crowd at supper. Cleared about $225. We voted at 9 AM. Jim and Pat here. Pat got supper. Took picture with new camera. I got home at 9 PM. Merrill finished putting 4 loads of gravel in barnyard.

4-H Leader’s Banquet at Woodruff, 7:30. I went with Mary, Donna and Sharon. Dale Smith speaker. I was sick all day. Glenn and Art here in PM. Merrill was plowing and didn’t see them.

I went to Bible Study at Margaret Matt. In bed all day. Sure feel horrid. Tractor tire has cut in it. Lynn H took it to Ken Brown’s at Theresa. A lot cooler in PM.

I feel better today but have back ache. Still cold and cloudy. Rain showers. Merrill went to Theresa for tractor kit. Fixed tractor in PM. small tractor.

4-H here at 1:30. Sewing. 6 girls here. One new member, Vickie D [?] joined. Mother T, Grace and Leslie came about 10:30 AM. Stayed all night. Glenn failing and Art Vandermill here in PM. Charles Clyde, 45, killed on Cadd’s Hill. 2 others killed. 1 injured badly.

Mother T, Leslie and Grace left about 9:00 AM to see Aunt Cora at Morristown. Very white hard frost last night. beautiful day. We drove out after church. Marg went into hospital today. Wrote Vern’s in evening.

Wrote Vern’s. Sent order to Spiegel for Boys sheets and jacket, blue, for Uncle Berl. Washed sheets and pillow cases. Cleaned house. Pat and Jim here in PM and supper. Jim put winter tires on Plymouth. He helped Merrill take down ensilage pipes. Called 4-H office about sewing materials.

Sharon Hall to be a Jr. Leader. Cloudy, rainy day. I washed, cleaned and ironed. Finished blue corduroy dress. Merrill went to Philadelphia bank. Dr. Sommers office called to say I could get teeth cleaned Fri. at 9 AM. Marge Heck, Donna and I went to Advanced Sewing Lesson. Merrill pulled dahlias.

No school. 4-H sewing here. Rebekah’s. I went alone. Mrs. Hall bad, so Mary couldn’t go. I took Alice and Nancy home. Merrill went to Theresa to see about tire. Raining all day. Jamie and Marie brought sewing machine.

Made living room draperies. Rained all day. Merrill got hair cut. He put on snow tires. Aunt Maude called in evening to say Marg Pitkin was in hospital. She planned to go in Sunday. Pearl Payne had operation this morning.

Friday the 13th. Raining all day and evening. We went to city for groceries. Went to hospital to see Mary P. She has gall bladder operation. Lois Hanlon married Justice Meeks Wednesday. Finished living room drapes in evening.

Rainy all day and evening. Colder. Debbie here to sew on 4-H outfit. Merrill went up to parsonage to see about leak in roof. Couldn’t find anything. He went to Theresa. They found a tire.

Raining hard all day. We went to church. Merrill has cold. He slept all PM. Wrote Dot. Called Mary H. Mrs. Hall not too good. Wesley Graham in hospital for kidney stone. Snowing some in evening.

PNG’s Marguerite. 15 there. Zelda and I had fruit salad, rolls and cake. I took Christmas candle gift to Elsie B for her birthday, Nov. 23. She’s my secret Pal. Snow on the ground this morning. Washed clothes. Merrill’s cold not any better. Called Dorothy Hug. in evening. Marg has operation tomorrow.

Cheryl and Carl Horton had baby girl today. Dr. Scanlon 2 PM. Everything OK. We went to hospital. Roy, Lois and Beatrice there. Marg had operation at 10 AM. Brought her down to her room at 12:30. or so. I went to Bible Study at Gloria’s. 14 there.

Sent Merrill and Bea’s life insurance, $88.24. Wrote vern’s. Sent order back to Spiegel along with check. I finished Library Drive. Got $9.00. Merrill went to Theresa. Tractor tire not here yet. Got 4-H supplies for club. Car license came. Did ironing in evening.

I went to hospital to see Marg. She is coming good. Sat up for 45 minutes today. I went to Fays to see Pat. They have delivered their furnace. Got groceries. Beautiful day.

Sent Debby card, letter, and $1. Sent Mrs. Hall card. Sent money to R.B. Mission, and Bible Salvation Army. Merrill went to Theresa. Tire not here yet. Cleaned. Baked cakes and donuts. Very windy.

My birthday. Vern and June called. All are well. Got cards and letter from Fran, Ken’s, and Secret Pal. Secret Pal sent lovely handkerchief. Very windy but sun out. Marie Gleason here to sew in AM. Washed car at Philadelphia. Made pan of fudge in evening.

Debby’s 11th birthday. Dad Tryon died 11 years ago today Pres. Kennedy 7 years ago today. We went to church and ate lunch at Indian River Diner. We went to Open House at parsonage.

I got cards from Uncle Berl, Mother T, Leslie. Wrote Roberta. Jim and Pat here for PM and supper. They told us they are expecting a baby in July. snowing hard.

Vern’s called in evening. Aren’t coming Thursday. 6 inches of snow. Howard plowed around our driveway before he went to work. Snow plows out for first time. Angie Montando, 71, died yesterday. We called at Jim Schell’s in PM. I went to Bible Study at D. Bartlett’s.

Angie Montando’s funeral. Jeff cleaned our barn before he went to school Merrill broke our spreader yesterday. He went to city to see Marg. She is running a temp so can’t go home. we went to Thanksgiving service at Evans Mills Church. Taylor’s and Vi went with us. I didn’t go to Lodge.

Thanksgiving. Bill and vi here for dinner. I called Mom. She has a cold. she was alone for dinner. Gehm’s spent day at Vern’s. Jim worked at furnace. patty had to work. Cloudy day. some sun in morning.

Patty called in evening to say Jim went into Mercy Hospital at 4:30 today with his back. He has been in traction for a week. I called Mom and Vern’s. Vern had been to Syracuse shopping all day. Vi and I went to city shopping. I got Merrill all weather coat at Robert Halls for Christmas.

We went out to hospital to see Jim. Vern and June were there also. Patty, on lunch hour. They brought tractor tire in evening $223, tire and tubes. I made blouse in evening. Got new spreader apron at Ennis $54.95

We went to church. Merrill and I lighted the first Advent Candle. We went out to see Jim at the hospital in PM. Saw Mrs. Art Hall also. She is not very good.

Church Council meeting, 7:30. 7 there. Merrill went to Burrville for spreader part. Got tire on tractor and apron in spreader. Washed my hair.
