Still raining. Cut my hair. I shortened Mom’s dresses. She sewed aprons. Called Jim in evening. They are moving Sunday and Monday. Patty’s 23rd birthday.

Merrill mowed all three lawns. I got turkey ready for tomorrow. Baked. Called Vern’s. Rained hard all evening.

Vern, June and boys here for day. Jim and Pat here in evening for supper. Nice day. Vern is able to talk again some. He goes to hospital June 4th.

FFA supper. I worked. Jim and Pat moved to Sackets Harbor ,111 Monroe Street. We drove down after taking Mom home. Donnie is getting so big. Nice day. Toby and Wade here in evening.

PNG’s Esther’s. I went. 16 out to it. Planted flowers by flag pole and garage. Washed clothes. Also Mom’s dresses. Put out lawn umbrella. Merrill built fence. Beautiful day. Warm. Jim and Pat’s first day in new home.

Wrote Jim’s. Sent them card on new home and $10. I’ve had pains in my head day. No work done. Merrill worked over corn ground.

Turned cows out for first both day and night. I’ve had pain in head all day. Merrill worked at corn ground. Got note from June.

We went to Mills and city for groceries. Rained off and on all day. Merrill mowed two yards. Jim and Pat here for supper. They got back from Mountains Thursday evening. Went Tuesday evening. They like new home.

Merrill finished mowing yards. He fitted on corn ground. I cleaned house. Only Marie came for 4-H so we didn’t have a meeting. Jim called. Their new phone number is 642-2722. Gave firemen my old cook stove for auction.

We went to church. Went out to city. Ate lunch at Grants. Drove up to Park. stopped at Fays. Went out to Ann’s with Jim and Pat for their lunch. I got house coat, also cloth for house dress. Got Lilt Home Permanent. Merrill got work pants and 2 pair wool socks

Cloudy and rainy. Wrote Uncle Berl. Rainy about all day. I made cotton print dress in evening. Don Hills came after Star in evening to train her. Toby here in evening. Merrill cleaned cellar. Washed clothes.

I’m dizzy today. No work done. Merrill took car to Gouverneur to have work done on it. Jim, Pat, JoAnne and Gary and Laurie here in evening. Jim went to bank to see about loan. Can get it. Joyce called in evening to ask me to help clean the parsonage.

I worked all day at Parsonage, cleaning and painting. Joyce, Jane and Lois H worked also. Cloudy and cold. I went to Rebekah’s. Jim M down here in evening. Lula Rappole in hospital. Was taken sick at city last Saturday.

We all worked at Parsonage again. Also Dawn, Betty and Esther. Papered two rooms and painted bath. I mowed lawns in evening. Lawn mower quit. Rosie Gleason had baby girl, 4 lb. 2 months early.

Merrill and I went to city in AM. Got plug and paints for lawn mower. Got groceries. I helped at Parsonage when I got back. We painted hall and bedroom. Looks much better. Called Jim. Merrill mowed rest of lawns. They look so nice. Frost last night.

Howard and Evelyn’s 18th anniversary. Beautiful day. We had first cook out of year. Cooked steaks. We went to VFW Parade at Theresa. Saw Les and Beulah Hall. They look good. Party for Aunt Keitha’s at Pt. Peninsula [?] in evening. We went but couldn’t find the place.

Church. We went. Took my yellow mum, Mother’s Day plant. Not many out to church. Jim here in PM after brush nippers and axe. Had cook out picnic at noon. I ironed Mom’s dresses in evening.

Merrill got hair cut. Hot muggy day. Merrill worked corn ground. I cleaned house. Wrote Mom, Vern’s, and Aunt Keitha’s. Sent her $5. Vern’s called in evening. Raining at Oswego. Called kids about dress review. The milk truck didn’t pick up our milk today until 11 PM in evening.

WSCS at Leah’s. Only 10 out. Jim and Pat here for lunch and supper. Jim helped Merrill plant corn in PM. Very hot. Washed clothes.

Have myself Lllt Permanent. Rainy, cloudy day. I went to Philadelphia Big M for groceries. Washed towels.

Got to Vern’s. Went up after Mom. Got to Vern’s about 11:30. He and June left for Crouse Irving Hospital at 1:00. June got home at 7:30.

Vern’s operation at 9:30 AM {tonsils} June went to hospital at 7 AM. Got home at 8:30. Vern came through fine. Had a massive infection. Mom, boys, and I went to Ken’s. Went to Dr. Reeds. Got groceries and rug.

Vern got home from hospital about noon. He is weak and his throat quite sore but glad to get home. Mom and I left after supper. I got home about 8 PM. Everything fine here.

Rev. H’s last Sunday service with us. 9 AM. We didn’t get around in time to go. We went for ride. Stopped at Fays to see Pat. Jim got 81.25 on police test. We went to Southwicks Beach. Had Col. Sander’s chicken supper. I set out 3 tomato plants.

Washed clothes. Beautiful day. Merrill had tooth pulled $6. Called kids in evening about Dress Review Commentaries.

4-H Dress Review at Lafargeville school. Good turn out. Donna took load of kids also. Lindsay and Shelly Griffin went with me. Jim and Pat here for dinner. Carlton Alton here for corn planter. Washed my hair.

Very warm Merrill fixed Aunt Maude’s porch steps. She gave him red wool check shirt. Ella Brown came today to visit Aunt Maude. I went to Antwerp in AM. Got cloth for shorts and dress. Made 1 pair shorts. Went to Rebekah’s in evening.

Merrill and I went to Parsonage at 10 AM to help new minister unload U-Haul. Jim here also. We gave him $900 cash from Theresa Bank. Bad storm in PM and evening. Hailed some. Pat called in morning. I made tuna casserole for Rev Family.

Merrill and I went to Adams for cultivator parts. Called Mom from Adams. Got groceries. Stopped by Fays to see Patty. Made cotton dress in evening. Aunt Maude and Ella Brown were down in evening. Vern and June called. He went for check up today. Coming good. Lila and Cathy here in evening also.

Cool this morning. Sent $2. to William Hockey, graduation gift. Merrill and I mowed lawns. Look so nice. I finished cotton dress hem in evening. Cleaned house. Cleaned cupboards. Merrill went up to Aunt Maude’s to look for cultivator pulley. He put on cultivator.

Rev. Blankenship’s first Sunday here. We can’t get around in time for 9 AM. A beautiful day. Mother Tryon, Leslie and Grace here for dinner and PM. They spent last night with Aunt Cora at Ogdensburg. Donna Hall enters hospital. Patty called.

Washed clothes. Merrill started cultivating corn. Cloudy all day. Ironed clothes. Patty’s Doc appt. for falling hair. Donna Hall had operation. I made 1 brown and blue shorts in evening.

PNG’s outing, Dick Cooks. 19 out counting Gail. Leah, Esther and I drove. Nice dinner. Jim and Pat here for dinner. Doc gave Pat several kinds of pills. Sent Mom card and letter. Sent Brenda and Roberta card and $10 each for graduation. Lula, Elsie, Vi, Marg, and Willabelle, rode with me. Willabelle fell.

Mom’s 78th birthday. Carolyn Hudson’s shower at Evelyn’s. Nice time and gifts. She is getting married July 11th. About 20 there. I went to Philadelphia in PM to get gift for Carolyn, dish washing things.

We went to city in AM. Merrill got drivers license renewed. Cloudy, muggy day. Got note from Aunt Keitha’s from California. Got invite to party for Lila and Jim’s 25th anniversary. Telephone company working on phone for third day but not fixed yet. Donna H came home from hospital.

Dentist 11:45. They called me to come at 8:45 to get tooth filled. Didn’t freeze it. Last day of school. Cleaned in PM. Washed Merrill’s clothes. Merrill cultivated some but too wet. He cut brush. Made donuts. Merrill took Schell’s chopper home he stored all winter.

Merrill mowed lawns. Washed clothes. Cold all day 50-54° all day. Cold wind.

Roberta H graduation at Sandy Creek 3 PM. Father’s Day. We drove to Copenhagen and Clayton. Saw Bob McGraw. Got cheese curd and cheese.

Brenda H graduation at Adams 8:15. Wrote Dot. Made June birthday cake. Made salad for tomorrow. Sent letter back to FN telling them Merrill canceled membership in March 69. Merrill finished cultivating corn.

Picnic at Jim and Pat’s. Vern’s there also. A very nice day. Loads to eat. We drove around Sackets. Real nice. We celebrated June’s birthday. We gave her blouse and 3 pair hose.

Had vet for cow. Calf dead. $15. Rebekah’s last meeting until fall. 19 members out. 12 of us went to Snack Bar after Lodge. Merrill mowed first hay this year. I painted step railing and lamp, black. Raining hard in evening.

I went to city for groceries. Merrill worked at baler but won’t start. Merrill washed car and I swept out garage. Aunt Maude called in evening. Ella Brown went home Wednesday. Sent Merrill’s accident policy fee $20. Sent in 2 films.

June’s 32nd birthday. Very cold during night. Took small TV to Thompson’s. 2 tubes, still not right. Got 16 quarts strawberries at Tony’s @40 cents. Real nice. Merrill got plugs for baler. Got thank you from Brenda. She won $50 scholarship.

Rained hard and stormed most all night. Washed clothes. Toby here at noon. He is taking Star to his brother’s place. Merrill and I went to Theresa. Got groceries. Merrill got new work shoes at Pearls. I got sun glasses. Did ironing in evening.

Beautiful day but on cool side. I sat in sun most all day. Got slight sunburn on legs. lazy day. Ate out. Had steak cook out. Merrill mowed some hay in AM.

Eye Apt. Dr. Scanlon at 8:30. Water test. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight. I have glaucoma in both eyes. Vi and Susan went out with me. Vi drove home. Raining again. I started drops at 3 PM. Every 4 hours for rest of my life.

Open house for the Blankenships, 7-9. We went. Nice turn out. Jim and Pat here for PM and supper. He has sold his cycle. They surveyed their house and land. Also VA inspected it. Raining again. Foggy in evening.

Got letter from June. They are coming Friday. Merrill mowed two lawns. Looks so nice. I cleaned house, between eye drops. They give me bad headache on one side. Cloudy in PM and evening. Got thank you’s from Roberta and Bill Hockey.

We went to city. Merrill got stuff at Bisnetts to wash dumping station. I got plastic table cloth, tan for dining room. Got groceries at P & C. Washed clothes in evening. Aunt Maude called in evening. I called Willabelle Brown about her eyes, glaucoma.

Party for Life and Jim Ashley 8:15. We didn’t go. Vern’s got here about 3:30 PM. Hot and muggy. Rain and thunder storms. Pat called in evening. She was too tired to come out. I have a black spot on right eye. I can see. I’m getting used to drops. Merrill drawed first two loads of hay. Mowed it a week ago.
