Juanita’s 41st birthday. I feel punk. Merrill and I went to city in PM. Got pair of boudoirs lamps with green stamps, 3 books. Got Easter card from Vern’s. Thunder and lightning storm in evening. Power off from 6:40-11:45. Sent check to Newsweek, $5.99. Donald Wagner Hanson born at 12:36 PM, 9 lb. 4 oz.

Good Friday. 4-H here to do demonstrations, 6 here. Marie didn’t come. All did well so far. Phone out all day. Lots of damage down in neighborhood last night due to storm A lot of damage at Hank Schell’s. Sent Vern and Jim Easter Cards and letters. Merrill changed front tires.

4-H Fashion Show. Carriage House. Sharon was in it. Debby and Donna went with me. I called Mom. Juanita has boy. She has pneumonia. Welfare Comm. Gray 50, shot at city by wife. Hall kids brought Merrill cake. Jim called. Phone finally fixed. Sent Arlene Decker birthday card and letter.

Easter Sunday. Cold. Snow on ground from last night. Not as many at church as last Sunday. Called Jim. Jim and Pat here for supper. Merrill and I went to funeral home in PM for Pauline W.

Jury duty, 10 AM. Served all day. Wasn’t picked. 14 jurors picked. I went to hospital to see Juanita. Don there. Took 2 pair rompers. Merrill and I went to Charge Meeting at Philadelphia. Mills there also, Wrote Vern’s

I went to hospital to see Juanita and Donnie. Saw him for first time. So cute. 5 days old today. Juanita had X-rays while I was there. Dr. Overacker [?] TB tested cows. Wrote Uncle Berl. 4-H office called. I’m to be on registration for Demonstration Day.

Dave’s 16th birthday. Snowy and raining. About 3 inches of snow on ground. Roads slippery. We went to city. Had coffee with Jim. Gary, Merrill and I went to hospital to see Juanita and Donnie. Called Don. Juanita and baby can go home Saturday. Got groceries. Installation at Theresa Rebekah’s.

We went to church. Went to Ogdensburg to see Aunt Cora in PM. She is at Edna’s. John had himself admitted to Ogdensburg hospital. Jim and Gary here on cycles while we were gone. Lots of boats waiting to get through Seaway at Ogdensburg.

Rebekah’s. Good turn out. Mary went with me. Marguerite in hospital again with phlebitis. Jim, Pat, Merrill and I went to Ogdensburg to see Aunt Cora about house. Ate lunch at the Clearview Restaurant. Beautiful day. Mrs. Sanders here for census.

Dad has been gone 10 years today. We went out to Don’s. Mom was at Ken’s. Bowman’s were there. Talked with them all. In 10 days, Olive and Jim’s 40th anniversary. The baby is so sweet. I brought Juanita’s washing home. Aunt Cora called. Called Patty. Did Juanita’s wash in evening.

Appointment with Dr. Scanlon 9:15. I have to have all new glasses. Exam $15. glasses $57. I have to go back June 29 for further tests. We went to Sackets in PM. Met Aunt Cora and Jim’s there. Took wash to Juanita. Dave had finger treated at hospital.

Joyce’s AM. I had lunch there. Got final plans made for FFA Banquet. Space ship #13 in trouble with power failures. Are trying to get back to earth. Have had headache all day. Real warm day. Debby here in evening.

School out at 3:30 for spring vacation until April 27. Merrill’s appointment with dentist at 11:30. He got 2 front teeth filled and plate fitted better, $18.00 The three space men landed safely. Watched TV most of day. Finished cleaning bedroom. Aunt Maude called.

State Police Test. 231 took test. Jim and Gary P took it. I went to P & C for groceries. We cleaned at lawns in PM. I mopped and waxed around rugs and kitchen floor. Tired tonight. County Dem. 4-H Day at IRC School.

We went to Vern and June’s for dinner. Mother Tryon and Grace Mathieu [?] came in the PM. Their first time. Jim came down alone in PM. Patty had to work. Police test easy. We didn’t get to church. Missed last Sunday too.

Earth Day. Philadelphia kids rode bicycles to JCC College. I passed them on road. Rebekah’s covered dish supper at 7 PM. Past Noble Grand’s night. 18 out. Very nice. Nice musical program. I went to city in AM for new glasses, $57. Had them checked at Dr. Scanlon’s. Got groceries.

Made 5 apple pies and 1 blackberry. Washed clothes. Merrill did some more on lawns. Wrote June. Joyce called to say we want to have 600 at FFA banquet. Bob Wards received word yesterday that their son was killed in Viet Nam.

Toby Morrow’s 26th birthday. Nose bleed again. We went to church. Jim, Vicky, Gary and JoAnne here on bikes awhile. Went to Aunt Cora’s. We stopped at Mower’s after church. We went for ride to Antwerp. Daylight Saving time starts. Beautiful summer like day.

Another beautiful day. We cleaned middle lawn. I went up to school to plan use of kitchen with Vi and Joyce. Jim, Pat and Gary here. Roberta called from city. She is coming Friday night. Had doors and windows open for first.

Kim Rudes 6th birthday. FFA Banquet at school Banquet huge success. Made $1231.18. Eleanor and Roberta came out to help. Were down here awhile in evening. Barn dance opened tonight. New band.

4-H Sunday. 2 Debby’s, Robin, Tammy and Marie 4-H kids there. Lorraine and Roger went. Other 4-H kids there. I did scripture reading. We had a nice dinner party after church for Rev & Mrs. H. Gave them $86. Our new minister is Rev. Blankenship. Comes from Kentucky on June 21.

Tired today. Merrill and Jeff drilled grain. Jim and Pat here for supper. She is working on courtesy desk now. Jim passed police test. Gary didn’t. They brought 4-H Glads.

Ground covered with snow this morning. Thunder storm and hail during night. Wrote Mother T and 4-H officers. Snow on ground all day. Cold all day. Merrill helped Howard put on paneling. Colleges across country demonstrating over Cambodia War and 4 students.

Still some snow on ground this morning. Melted by noon, I went to city shopping. Got Patty lamps for her birthday. Got pair of beautiful table lamps for kids first anniversary. Early American. $29 pair. Saw Jim on Square. Merrill built fence.

4-H Mother’s Tea here. All mother’s here but Betty Guterriez. Marion Schell here also. Merrill went to auction at Gouverneur with Howard. 4-H girls did nice job of entertaining mothers. Called Jim’s in evening. Are coming tomorrow for supper.

Mom, Merrill and I went to city. Mom got new light gray summer coat $22. and other things. We took her down to Aunt Keitha’s to stay until Thursday. Lloyd Liberty has died in Dutch East Indies. I picked up rose bushes at 4-H office for self and Marge Heck’s club. Mix up.

Rainy. I took Sewing Lesson “Sew Fine Seam” at city. Talked with Jim and saw Pat. I went to Lodge. Diane, Martha and I on committee, Jell-O and cookies. June called in evening. Vern worse. They are coming up. Jim and Pat got letter from Aunt Cora saying they can move in house first of next week in Sackets.

Aunt Maude and I went after Mom at Aunt Keitha’s. Got groceries at Seaway. Mom got hat, black. Aunt Maude came down here with us. Cathy went to Tupperware party. Merrill built fence.
