Raining again. I had a horrid toothache all night last night. They took the young stock out to pasture.

Went down to see Dr. Reed. Stopped to see the twins. Stopped at Aunt Mildred’s. Had a tooth pulled. Stopped at Dad’s for supper. Don worked for Merrill. Got Merrill a new pipe. Got chicken wire $9.50. Paid Dr. Reed $6.50.

Quite warm today. Dot, Evelyn, & June Sargent was down in evening. Set hen we brought from our home.

Don was up. Worked for Merrill while Merrill went to Adams. We took Don home in evening. Bought Don’s car. Dot & Oren was down. Marg is ill with grippe. Had doctor.

Arlene was down. Got small “A” battery. Sent card & letter to Marg. Sent in card for War Ration book No 3. Colder today.

Merrill put fence around garden. Planted potatoes & some more corn & beans. Washed car. Quite nice today but sort of cold. Went for ride.

Raining again. The grass & leaves are real green because of so much rain. The woods look very pretty.

Sent for baby layette. Washed my hair. Dot, Edith & Arlene was down. Dot brought me a vine in a nice plant jar.

Wrote letter to Angie. Merrill set out 100 strawberry plants 75 ¢.

Merrill sowed oats. First they have planted this year. Dot was down. Got 6 new pie plates. Got graduation invitation from Sally Kastler. Oren Sr. was down.

Evelyn & Arlene was down. Got baby layette. Couldn’t get baby shirts. Wrote letter to Alice.

Got graduation invite from Evelyn. Merrill sent for work shoes with No 17 ration stamp. Dot, Evelyn, Arlene & Buster was down. Evelyn brought down her new formal she got today. Very pretty.

Went over home. Got a setting hen over there & set her when we got home. Grandma was there.

Sent for 2 “A” batteries for Mom. Dot & Arlene was down.

Vernon picked some wild strawberries. First this year. Evelyn was down. Wrote letter to Mother Tryon. Got a dozen tomato plants.

Raining. I wrote a letter to Aunt Mildred & Dr. Reed. Merrill got new low work shoes.

Mother’s birthday. Vernon got out of school at 1:00 PM. Evelyn was down. She & Arlene are going to Junior Prom tonight. Dot was down.

School was out for vacation. Vernon got home at 11:00 AM. Mrs. Richmond served them ice cream,cookies & candy. He is in second grade next year. Arlene was down.

Evelyn graduates from A.H.S. [Adams High School] tonight. Went over home. Gave Don $50.00 tonight. Watkins man was here.

Sent Mom the Journal. Arlene was down. Don Moore is home on furlough. Washed my hair.

Wrote letter to Aunt Myrtle. Received letter from Marg. Dot & Evelyn was down. Also Arlene & Oren Jr.

Washed Merrill’s hair. Merrill picked enough wild strawberries for first shortcake this year. Vernon went to church. (Children’s Day) Arlene & Dot was down.

Awfully hot. Showers tonight. Finished lace for pillow cases today. Received Ration Book No. 3 in the mail today.

Sent for car license. ($7.50 half price) Smoky has 3 little kittens. Evelyn & Arlene was down.

Received license plate & strip 758317. Warmer today. Mother & Dad was up. Glen & Hazel Backus have a baby boy. Also Harry & Evelyn Waters.

Arlene was down. We went to Lorraine & Sandy Creek in evening. Merrill & Vernon got their hair cut. Washed my hair.

Hen comes off. Had 5 chicks. Went over home for dinner. Went over to Grandma’s. Uncle Len’s, Marg & Uncle Lloyd was there.

Dot, Evelyn & Arlene was down. Florence, Loraine & Harlow Yerdon was over.

Went down to see Dr. Reed at Sandy Creek. Received letter & pictures from Aunt Mildred & Angie. Also got a large picture of Vernon. Vernon got a swan picture.

Wrote letters to Mom & Aunt Mildred. Merrill sent for gas A book for car. Ruth Bostwich Piper was buried (age 27) Edith & Dot was down & fixed my window boxes. Got cards from Gloria & Marilyn.

Dot & Arlene was down. Dot got a permanent today at Sandy Creek. Received letter from the hospital. Nice day. Made a chocolate cake & 3 pies.

Sent Journal to Mom. cleaned oil stove. Arlene was down. Dot & Dick was here in evening.

Sent $59.00 to hospital. Merrill cleaned stove pipes. Evelyn was down. Real hot today.

We washed clothes. Viola Presley, Mom, Mack & Lucas Carey was up. Got in the ditch & Merrill pulled them out with tractor. Don was up & milked for Lonny. Rained today.

Real hot. Received card from Aunt Mildred & letter from Viola. Evelyn & Arlene were down. Went to Lorraine in evening & got a quart of ice cream.

Received Gas A Book for car. Sent order to Wards. Evelyn & Arlene was down.

Vernon painted his wagon & tricycle. Ironed clothes today. Real hot all day. Cloudy tonight. Sent card to Aunt Mildred.

Washed my hair. Arlene was down. Wrote cards to Marilyn, Gloria & Richard. Real windy

Dot, Evelyn & Arlene was down. Aunt Mildred called Barkers & said she & Aunt Myrtle would come up tomorrow night. Got True Story.

Went to Adams & got Aunt Mildred & Aunt Myrtle. Merrill got $5.00 use car stamp at Lorraine. Arlene was down.

Arlene was down. We all went on picnic on C.C.C. [Civilian Conservation Corps] Road. Went over to Grandma Haggerty’s in PM. Took Aunt Mildred & Aunt Myrtle over to Dad’s in evening. Mom came up for supper.

Sent for more pills from Dr. Reed. Sent for work shoes for Vernon with ration stamp 18. Arlene was down. Oren brought us a pint of ice cream.
