Aunt Mildred washed my hair for me in bed. Aunt Mildred went home today. Mom, Don, Uncle Berle & Dot was here. Mother Tryon came back to stay. Uncle Berle brought me a head of lettuce.

John Shelmedine & Marion Alexander married tonight. Grandma H., Betty, Velma, Marion, Ruth, Katie, Mom & Mary was here. First time I’ve seen Marion since they came back east. Brought me some oranges.

Another stormy day. Received letter from Aunt Mildred. She sent my washing home by Merton Pool on the school bus. Heard today Don Moore is in hospital with broken leg.

Snowing hard. Carl isn’t feel so well tonight.

Carl didn’t go to school today. Mother Tryon washed clothes. Oren stopped in on way to woods. Quite cold & windy. Received letter from Marg.

Baby Harlow Cobb was buried today at 10:00 AM in North Watertown Cemetery. A regular blizzard today. Had a letter from Angie. Oren Jr. was here. Snow plow got in ditch. Couldn’t get it out. Merrill got lunch for Dwight & Esther & then took them home. Snow plow came over tonight at 11:15 with truck. A lot of snow.

Received cards & package (nightgown, towels, & comb) from Aunt Mildred. Dot was down. They came over with old plow & got out the plow. Been in bed 5 weeks today.

Mom & Dad, Aunt Maude, & Lila was here. Grand day. Ken, Oren & Paul S. was here in evening.

Has rained hard all day. Mack Carey bought the Roan horses today. Dot got me some peanuts today. Oren got me a box of Fanny Farmers. Received card from Hodges. Dad brought up potatoes. Dot got me shelf paper at Adams.

Carl’s shoes & rubbers came today. Still raining.

Sent for suit for Vernon today. Oren Jr. stopped in on way to woods.

Easter vacation starts today. Go back March 3rd. Received letter from Dr. Reed, also Aunt Mildred. Dot, Evelyn & Arlene was down.

Grand day. Dot & Peggy was down. Watkins man was here. I sat up in a chair awhile today. Also walked a few steps. Merrill got a raise in wages $!00.00.

Mr. & Mrs. Harry Gibson have a baby boy. Been in bed 6 weeks today. Vernon got a new suit & 2 pair of socks. Received letter from Marg, & Mom, & Easter cards from Dad’s & Viola [Presley].

Easter Sunday. Dot & Dick took Carl & Mother Tryon home today. Got up & ate dinner at the table today.

Have walked out to the kitchen 2 times today. Dot was down & washed dishes for me. I wrote letter to Marg. Merrill sent for shoes.

Received card from Beulah C. & Mom. Marg & Roy was up in evening. Mom took my wash home.

Received card from Aunt Maude. Received new table oiled cloth & towel set. Evelyn brought down a chocolate pie for dinner. Read good. Made it herself.

Merrill got new high top shoes & rubbers. Wrote letter to Aunt Mildred. Not feel very peppy. Vernon got his hair cut at Lacona.

Raining hard today. Sent for shoes for Vernon & I. Wrote to Angie.

Snowed hard early this morning. About 4 inches.

Vernon & I came over home to stay until I get feeling better. Didn’t hurt me to ride. Dad & Mom brought me over. Evelyn was down home awhile in morning.

Wrote letter to Viola P. Aunt Esther & Uncle Lloyd was here in evening. Dad saw Dr. Reed. Said for me to go easy.

Wrote letter to Merrill. Got a sore throat. Merrill was down in evening. Merrill set hen. Roy & Marg was here. Mailman started going down by.

Sent letter to Merrill & Mother Tryon. Have a swell cold. Dad got me 2 cans Karo syrup today. Awfully hard to get it anywhere now.

My cold is better. Got a new pair of bed sheets last Monday. Going home from Dad’s tomorrow evening. Merrill got occupational questionnaire.

Vernon got his first War Bond. $25.00. Don brought Vernon & I home today. Merrill is sure glad to have us home. Got new play shoes that aren’t rationed. Oren Jr. was down in evening.

Sure seems good to be home. Merrill put on screen doors. Arlene was down. Wrote letter to Mom.

Sent for garden seeds. Received letter from Marion. Vernon was vaccinated & inoculated for smallpox & diphtheria.

Another rainy day. Rains every day. No crops planted yet. Made pies today. Shampooed my hair.

Received card from Marg & letter from Aunt Edna. Vernon got new pair of shoes with ration stamp 17. Sent card to Marion.

Arlene was down awhile in evening. Sun was shining today. Quite chilly. Mother showed me how to crochet so I’ve been learning.

Sent order to Wards. Received 2 B ration batteries. Can’t get “A” battery. Received card from Alice & letter from Mom.

Evelyn & Arlene was down. Merrill went to Lacona with Lonny [White. The hired man at Barkers] & got his hair cut. Brought me home a box of candy. Real warm today. Feeling quite good today.

Vern has sore throat. Awful windy. Rained a lot today. Thundered this morning. Dot was down.

Vernon didn’t go to school. He has a cold. Vern received a card from Aunt Mildred. I had a letter from Viola P.

Dot was down. Aunt Mildred sent Vernon a book & Uncle Berle sent him a pencil he got at a church conference. Received letter from Angie & card from Aunt Mildred. Vernon went to school today.

Carl’s birthday. (15 years). Got new glass pie plate baking dish, baby blanket, outing for diapers, & radio “A” battery. Listened to Winston Churchill speech from the White House. Vernon didn’t go to school.

Got garden seeds today. Dot & Edith was down. Warm sunshine day. Vernon didn’t go to school. They have put the ban back on pleasure driving.

Raining again. Received card from Marg. Ken is ill in bed with grippe. Vernon didn’t go to school. Watkins man was here.

Dot & Arlene was down. Uncle Berle called & mom is ill in bed with grippe. Spent Saturday evening listening to radio & eating pumpkin pie.

Evelyn, Arlene & Dad was down. Merrill plowed garden. Don was up. Mom & Ken are both better. Really nice today.

Vernon went to school today. Arlene was down. Haven’t been feeling so good today. Turned cows out for night for first time this year.

Raining again today. Feeling a little better today. Don was up. Wrote letter to Viola & Marg.

Still raining. Got new fever thermometer & lamp mantles. Evelyn & Edith was down.

Sent back broken battery. Received letter from Aunt Mildred. Don, Evelyn, Arlene & Hattie Ramsey was down. Wrote letter to Mom.

Aunt Mildred & Uncle Berle sent Merrill some beautiful tulips. Wrote letter to Aunt Mildred. Cleaned cellar way.

Real nice today. Cleaned upstairs. First time I’ve been up there since March 22. Vernon got his hair cut at Lacona.

Decoration Day. Vernon went to church for first time with Barkers. Merrill helped me wash clothes. He & Vernon planted most of the garden. Mom & Dad was up in the evening. Dad & Mom brought up 2 little kittens.
