She works on Saturday. 260 soldiers returned home from overseas to For Drum today. More to return tomorrow, some came last night. They have been gone over a year.

68° and 55°. Cooler and partly cloudy. I renewed Vi and my Times for 26 weeks at $92. It used to be $12 for 52 weeks when we first started taking it when we were at Barkers. Vi, Florence, and sally here. Stompers singing group here in evening. A great time by all. Had cider and donuts. Had a good turn out. Jim called about 9:15 PM. He and Walt Prow were almost to Iowa. Only one hour away. He’s taking “big” the dog to Joel. I called Vi.

Much cooler but sunny. Vern called about 11 AM to say they would be here about 12:30. We ate lunch at Longways Diner. It was packed as usual. We went to Calcium cemetery. The flowers on our lot look great. We stopped at P and C in Seaway shopping center to get my groceries. The Washington Street Big M Crosby’s is closed. It has been sold. 74° and 55°. Another great day for the first day of autumn. Like summer. I went to Syracuse to see Dr. Byron Rutledge. Dr. Sanni referred me. He says I have the worst kind of glaucoma. A real bad kind of it. Dr. Sanni was concerned it was macular degeneration. Cheryl took me to Syracuse. We had lunch at KFC on way home.

A sunny great day. No exercise class. Angie, Vi, Sally and Florence here. Florence brought me some watermelon. Sally took my watch to get a back put back on it. Jolie and Madison called. They were at a toy store buying a birthday gift. Today is Madison’s 5th birthday. WCNY radio and TV station is 50 years old today.

Warmer. A great day. Debby called to say my blood count is own so I’m to tart Procrit shots again. I gave myself one today. Vi and Angie here. I went to exercise class. Howland and Gramps here in evening to entertain. Very good. They are ventriloquists.

A sunny day. My colonoscopy at 10 P. Vern came from Oswego to take me. Dr. W couldn’t do it as the colon was not clean enough after a week without my iron. Our VIP outing to Walmart’s with Jane Zimmerman, Hazel B, Bertha A an me. Walmart gave us free popcorn and a drink. I bought a one cup coffee maker. Jim called in evening. He’s going to Jolie’s tomorrow. Then on to Florida from there leaving his truck at Jolie’s and riding his bike to Florida.

Raining when I woke up and rained all day. A few snow flurries today. I didn’t get to church. Jim had to preach at Stone Mills. Jolie called. Jim left this morning for her place. I went to church out here in PM. A nice service. Angie stopped by. Her brother is visiting from Mississippi until Wednesday.

54° and 34°. A sunny day. Coby Slate called. Vi here. Also Angie. Florence brought me a piece of cake. They are installing new carpeting on first and second floors. The ground floor was done a while ago. I played Pedro in evening. 2 tables. Yankees lost to Boston Red Socks at Yankee stadium. First time Red Socks won in 86 years. World series starts next week.

Some showers off and on. I went to exercise class. “Gabby” from the YWCA here to start us on a walking program. She gave us a pedometer and a pen. Looks like fun. Jim N here to ask if I got my lunch. I locked my door and Charles couldn’t get in with it. Lee left it at Angie’s. Gabby is Gabriela Fassinger-Matukas. Debby called. My blood count is back up to 11. Dr. wants me to be tested every other week. Jim called in evening from Key West Florida. He’s seeing a lot of rebuilding after the hurricanes. He says it is hot there.

56° and 39°. Jessie here to clean. We washed and hung draperies in living room. Vi here for Times. Angie here in PM. They are laying new carpeting on our hall today. They worked until 9:30 PM. Juanita called in evening. Today is the 50th anniversary of WWNY TV Watertown’ going on the air. I remember the boys and I went over to Perrin and Annie Keiches to watch it on their TV. We didn’t have one yet.

A nice sunny day. Doreen came after me in PM and we went to Lorraine to Juanita’s to shower (Baby) for Crystal. She got a lot of nice things. So good to see everyone. Roberta, Ken, and Esther and a lot of little folks were there. Mostly Juanita and grand children. I wish Debby could have been there. Doreen brought me home about 7:30.

54° and 30°. Partly sunny. I went to church with Jim N. we were greeters. Vi here for Sunday paper. I watched NASCAR in PM. I had diverticulitis attack in PM. Terrible pain in my left side and cold chills and gas. I didn’t go to the dance in Metcalf room in evening. Marion Carvell organized it but I didn’t feel like going to it.

I have pain in my side. I called Dr. LaPoint’s nurse but I could only see Katherine Kollman if I went in.

Cheryl took me to see Dr. LaPoint. She wants me to have kidney X-ray. I got flu shot.
