A cloudy day. No snow on ground. This is my 61st year of keeping a diary. My eyesight getting worse so this may be my last one. I washed clothes. Jim called from Joanne’s to wish me happy New Year. He is taking me to doctors on Monday. Vi was here. Vern called to wish me happy new years. Lydia had a nice birthday party yesterday. Her birthday is on Christmas day.

40° and 27°. Rev. Dora here in AM. She brought communion. Jessie here to clean. We didn’t go to the store. I washed my bed linens in PM. We flipped my mattress. I paid my rent.

26° and 19°. Snowing about all day. Our first big snow fall. Cold. Jim came and took me to see Dr. Tasha Richards. I had an EKG. Centennial Meeting in evening. A good turn out. I called Lyla. Prestige Services started serving us lunches. They are prepared at Clayton. It didn’t taste as good as the ones from the Office of the Aging.

Cold. A snowy day. Very bad Syracuse way. Ken’s 84th birthday. I called him. Esther was going to doctor at Pulaski very snowy there. Jim took me to Dr. LaPoint’s. Storming here in PM. Sue called for prayer chain. Rev. Jane Wagner having hysterectomy operation today.

Very cold. Sue called. They are having a card shower for Jane. Very stormy Pulaski and Syracuse way. Up to three feet. Debby, Dr. LaPoint’s nurse called. I’m to give myself the Procrit shot every other week. My calcium count is high. I didn’t play Pedro in the evening as Kinney’s brought my drugs in evening at 7:30.

2° and -5°. Very cold all day. Jim took me to Dr. Sanni’s. I may have laser on my right eye Monday the 19th. Sue called for prayer chain to say Rev. Jane got home today. Vi here. Rose brought me a large Florida orange. I found another Watertown TV channel. It shows the square at night.

A very cold day and night. Angie and Vi stopped by. Kinney’s delivered vitamin pills. I got several nice pictures from Jolie. Juanita called. First I’ve heard from her since Christmas.

Warmer temperatures but cold because of wind. Snow flurries. A lazy day. I listened to Rev. Jane’s church tape. I haven’t been to church at First church in ages. I miss it. I filled out Dr. W information report. Hard to see. Florence and Vi were in. Vern called in evening.

Warmer. Snowing lightly. Dr. Schipic’s office called. It will call back in March. I called for EKG for Dr. Weinstein. I have to sign for it. Vi was here. Angie brought me piece of fudge. I called Patty to thank her for Christmas present. Cable out in late PM and evening. My fault. I sat on the remote in my chair and change it to video mode.

A snowy day. Lola Harter went to hospital this morning. I called Mary Hall. She caught me up on news of the Hall and Gleason families. The ones in Florida are sick with the flu. Howard still getting chemo. His leg badly swollen. Kinney’s brought my Golytly (?) and eye drops. Jolie called. She and Madison got home from Darcie’s last night. She left Shawn Michael there for a week.

Very cold. Some sun in AM. I washed clothes. I talked with Cheryl. She is taking me to eye doctors in PM Monday. I played Pedro in evening. Three tables. Power off at hospital because of faulty switch.

-25°. A sunny day. I’m taking Golytly for colon list at SMC tomorrow. Debby called from Indiana in evening. We talked for over two hours. She’s been ill from infection form kidney stones. She has so many. I talked with Jim. Vern called in evening.

Still freezing -6°. My colonoscopy with Dr. Weinstein. Vern came from Oswego to take me. He got here at 8:30 and left about 3:30 PM. We got back here about 12:30. He didn’t find any polyps but I have to go back in 6 months because of my taking so much iron. Jessie called. She came to clean as she forgot I wouldn’t be here. Will come next Friday.

Warmer. Great. I’ve been sleepy al day. Must be the Valium from yesterday. I mopped kitchen and bathroom floors. Vi here for paper. Mark Hardy 55 dead in Florida. Jim and Esther Keichle Hardy’s son. Sue Boschock called to see how I was doing. She called again for prayer chain. Nancy Huntress has to have a kidney removed in tow or three days.

30° and 19°. Some snow over night. I talked with Sherri. Their car is still in garage. I went to church out here. The Bob Smith’s sang The Lord’s Prayer. It was beautiful. Sally locked her keys in her car. She called me to let her in the building. Jim called in evening. He went to New Hampshire this weekend.

12° and -5°. Not a bad day. Sunny. I had call fro hospital checking on my care there. I had a survey call on Medicare. Sue called in the prayer chain for Nancy. Nancy has a small tumor on her brain now plus the kidney problem. I called Vivian. Cheryl took me to Dr. Sanni’s. My eye pressure too high to do laser today. 14 left and 19 right.

Not a bad day. Jill had her eye operation in Montreal at 2 PM. Jim took her. He called just before they crossed the bridge at Ivy Lea at 9 AM. Jolie called in evening. Jill’s operation went well. Jolie talked with her. Cheryl took me to Dr. Sanni. He didn’t do laser as my pressure is still too high. 14 and 19. Donna Pledger Clark called in evening. I saw her at Sanni’s.

28° and -15°. A wild day off and on. Snowing hard, winds, a little sun briefly. Very bad Oswego way. Cheryl took me to give blood for lab test at Dr. LaPoint’s. I talked with Jim. Jill’s eye surgery went well. She went to work with 20/20 vision. Angie and Sally here. I took paper up to Vi’s. Cheryl said Kathy has cancer. She has to go to Syracuse. I had nice visit with Helen K. Carl isn’t good. He is on oxygen all the time. He was in hospital for 17 days with pneumonia. He has lung disease. Esther Hardy, his sister died from it.

I put a birthday cared under his door. Fern Simon has started working in office helping Hope. She’s here Tuesday and Thursday morning and all day Friday. Hope introduced me to her when I was getting my mail today

19° and -9°. Warmer. Snowing most of the day. Vi came for Times. I called Office of the Aging to complain of the salty food they give us. They told me they are getting a lot of complaints on it. We have had 19 days of below zero during January so far.

14° and -7°. Snowed some during the night. Terrible stormy Pulaski and Oswego way. Route 81 by tinker Tavern closed most of day. We had 14 out for exercise class. Jolie called in evening. I washed clothes in PM.

Cloudy day. A little snow. It is just terrible in Oswego again today. 45 inches of snow. Vern called in PM. Everything cancelled or closed in Oswego. Adams is getting it tonight. Vi here at noon. Jim called on way to Joanne’s in evening. Jill leaves in morning on vacation to New Mexico for ten days in Cancun.

12° and -3°. A partly sunny day. 1500 people present for the yellow ribbon rally at Salmon Run Mall with many dignitaries there including Hillary Clinton to honor the 10th mountain division of Fort Drum. Very moving.
