Ground hog day. Some sun. Six more weeks of winter. I sent Steve’s and Dan’s notes. Jill and Shane took me to Crosby’s Big M for groceries. Got $80 worth. A bad pile up accident on Route 81 in PM. Several hurt.

Nice today. I talked with Lyla. First in some time. Everything okay with her. I washed white clothes. I played Pedro in evening. 3 tables of us. Cora Carr here in PM. She took my Philadelphia UM Church Cross and the Flame to read. She enjoyed it a lot.

Snowing about all day. Hard in PM. I went to exercise class. Eight of us there. I talked with Lyla. It is in tonight’s Times about Scott Thayer being in trouble over a snowmobile. Coby Slate called in evening.

Raining hard most of day. Very icy in St. Lawrence County. Warmer 51°. I washed green clothes. Very windy in afternoon. Jim called in evening on way to Nancy’s. He says Joel is coming for a visit in a week or so. Then he’s going on to Texas with a friend for three or four months.

Very cold all day. -12° overnight. I went to church with Jim and Sherri. 80 present. We watched video of Dr. and Mrs. Reimer’s work in Zimbabwe. They are members of First UM Church here. Very interesting.

Cold in morning. I took bus to Dr. LaPoint’s to give blood sample for iron count. 10 AM. I called Vi in PM. Esther T is having hip operation today. Ginny has her operation February 22. Vivian has returned from hospital. She had tow broken bones in hip. I not new rose colored dress from Blair’s today. Very pretty.

Nice warm day. I went to exercise class. Eight of us there. I washed clothes in AM. Kathy from Philadelphia bank called. My checking account will be in my name by March 3rd. I wrote letter to Clark and Vivian in evening.

Beautiful out this morning. Everything covered with snow. I went to exercise class. Centennial covered dish supper 5 PM. I made mandarin orange salad. Good food and good turnout. Bev Sampson called. She and Margaret are coming Tuesday. Coby Slate called. He was going to bring me tapes but I asked him to bring them later. I called Jolie. She left message on machine. Zack is being promoted to E-6 March 1st. I talked with him and Madison. I received some reading from Jolie today.

It is still so beautiful outside. The snow is sticking to the ice on every thing. 31°. Down to 3° overnight. My re-certification with Hope at 1:45 PM. A little more to see to yet. I met Hope’s mother. They look alike. I called AARP twice about insurance coverage. My six months is up March 1. Drug store delivered my medicine and milk. Also a drug printout later after I called for it. I talked with Vi about going out with us Tuesday. Jim called on way to Clayton. Nancy has been out of school with sinus trouble. Jill called in evening. Jim called here to bring me some bread and tape to fix my shower curtain.

Cold. Sunny. A few flurries. I went for coffee and donuts in morning. Elgin and Carmi called about 8:30 AM. Carmi says his knee is hurting him again. His blood count is low also. I ran cleaner and dusted. Jill and Shane brought me a few groceries. Also some tape and fixed my shower curtain for me. Sherri called in evening about church.

Cold. Snowing. I went to church and Sunday school with Sherri and Jim. I called Lyla but she was out but she called me later. She was out playing cards. Dale Earnhart Jr. 49 years was killed in the Daytona 500 race today.

Partly cloudy. Windy. I finished re certification with Hope. My rent down to $55 from $132. Jill’s birthday, 26 years old. I washed underwear by hand. Jill, Jim, Nancy and I went to Applebee’s for Jill’s birthday. A nice meal. Came back here afterwards. Joel called Jim while we were at the restaurant. He’s having a rough time since he and Camille parted.

Cloudy day. In 40’s. I called Bev S in morning. Exercise class at 9:30. Vi Mowers, Beverly Sampson, Marion Smith, and Margaret Hudson came about 1 0:30 AM. We went to “the Club House” for lunch and then back here again to visit. We stopped at Samaritan Keep. Bev and I called on Lou Rudds. She is good. We saw Joe Alone, Margaret saw her relative. A wonderful day together thanks to Bev. Jessie called in evening. She will be here Thursday to work.

A beautiful sunny day but very cold all day. Jolie called with the good news they are being transferred to Fort Knox, Kentucky in August. Zack will be trained as a drill sergeant. He became a staff sergeant E-6 March 1st. Jolie was calling everyone. This just found out today. I got first box of checks with my name on them only. Merrill and I had a joint account for many, many years. I played Pedro in evening. I called Jim. He was on his way home from Nancy’s.

Snowing hard in PM. Lots of accidents. Mother and 11 year old son killed in Pearl Street Road. Cleared before noon. A sunny afternoon. I called Margaret Hudson in PM. I had liver and onions for supper. Good. !!! Bill Boyd showed me how to use reading machine. Vern called in evening. He has to have a hernia operation next month. He sprained his back, so isn’t getting much done on his house.

Zack and Jolie will be just below Cincinnati, Ohio, 300 miles from Carla. 800 miles from us. Jolie called in evening. We talked for over an hour. The army wants Zack for a recruiter. He doesn’t want a desk job. Sherri called in evening.

Cold. 18°. Sunny. Ash Wednesday. Jolie, Jack and Kids went thru their first earthquake. 6.8. Very scared. Jolie called her dad on her cell phone as soon as she got outside. I called Jim. He had just talked with her. She called me a little later. Lots of damage and some folks hurt. The quake was thirty miles under ground. Coby Slate here with church tapes. I tried to call Jolie before I went to bed but phones all tied up. I listened to three of the tapes. I miss Philadelphia Church so much. I was so good to hear the people speak. Rev. Jane is so great.
