Cool but nice. Sunny day. Jessie here to clean. She does a good job. Keitha Ward Liscomb died. She was 48 and has been so very ill for so long.

Sunny in AM. Cloudy in PM. Jim called. He left for Boston on a benefit bike run this PM. Will be back on Sunday. I made blueberry muffins. Took four down to the Nash’s. Got nice letter and copy of “Are you Blessed” from Jolie. Mail is so slow from there. Took five days. I got letter from Epic saying I don’t have to pay for any more drug prescriptions this year. A new law.

A great summer day. The locust really loud day. I washed clothes. Sat outside awhile. Juanita called to ask if I was coming to Will’s wedding. I didn’t have a way. I talked with Lyla. She got four new tires on her car this morning. First Methodist church ham dinner. $6. The Nash’s delivered them here. Two birthdays here today. Rev. George Salisbury 90, and Fannie McIntosh 95.

Another great summer day. I went to church with Mr. and Mrs. Nash. We stayed for Sunday school. My first time. Eleven people there. Rally day. I went to see Merrill afterwards. I talked with Juanita in PM. Will and Tammy’s wedding went well. They and their three boys are in the Adirondacks for three days.

Raining hard. Talked with Jim. He goes home at midnight. I got card from June and Vern from New Brunswick. Centennial Club met 7:30. Hospice speaker. I forgot about it. I watched a Bill Moyer show called “On Our Own Terms” Excellent and a lot of help.

Partly cloudy. Windy. Some sun. They postponed washing windows on outside. Washed inside. Also washed lace curtains. Jim was here. Brought me milk. I sent Jolie letter. I played Bingo in evening. Didn’t win anything. I watched the 4th last VT program “On Our Own Terms” on dying. Very enlightening.

A nice sunny day. I had doctor appointment with Ann LePine at 2:45. I went to see Merrill afterwards. He knew me and didn’t want me to leave him. I rode the Para transit bus all three times. I watched debate between Hillary Clinton and Dewitt Lazio on TV.

Rained some in PM and evening. Jessie here to work. She went to store and drug store for me. They finished washing windows on outside. The black guy that did mine didn’t do a very good job. I got my Niagara Mohawk bill. $29.10 for one month. Vernon called in evening. They got home this PM. They had a nice vacation. Mr. Peabody glad to get home from the pet motel.

Some rain. Cloudy. I called Jim. He was in hospital most of yesterday with a kidney stone. He started to drive himself to hospital but had to call the ambulance on the way. He was working on his house today. He didn’t sound good. My TV remote quit working. Florence got me AAA batteries but it wasn’t batteries. I made cupcakes for sale tomorrow. Also cake for me. Alice Flaherty called for prayer chain for Mary Cline who is in hospital with cancer. I called Karen Lynch in evening about it.

Cold wind. Partly sunny. I talked with Lyla. Her knee some better. June Ridsdale Davis called. I haven’t heard from her since last Christmas. Public rummage sale at Granny’s Attic. I gave them some of Merrill’s clothes. Also made cupcakes for it. Lyla called in PM. Vi M called. We talked for an hour. She was home alone all day.

Nice but cool wind. I went to church with Jim and Sherry Nash Also Sunday school. Got study book on James. $5. They dropped me off at Genesis. I ate lunch in cafeteria and spent afternoon with Merrill in his room. His black eye getting better. A make nurse was on today. He said the nurses did it turning Merrill in bed. Merrill too weak to do it himself. I came home by taxi. The nurse said he had taken Merrill to Carthage to have his pace maker checked last week. Everything fine. (Dr. Mirza)

Sunny warm. I called Jim in AM. He spent the night at Nancy’s. He still hasn’t passed his stone. I cleaned floors with cleaner. Jim here in evening for sock and pads to take to Merrill. Jolie called. Zack gets home tomorrow. Madison a busy little girl as we talked.

Sunny. Warm. Exercise class at 9:30. First meeting. Ten present. Went well. Jim’s appointment with Dr. Sherman. X-rays didn’t show his stone so he must have passed it. Jim called in evening. He was putting in a shower in one of his houses.

Beautiful day. Jolie called. Madison has started walking. Took nine steps. Juanita called. Bill and Brenda had their jeep stolen from Sears’s parking lot. Not found yet. Jim goes to New Hampshire. Back on Friday. Police picnic and get together for 80-100 police from all over.

Rain and sun off an on all day. Very windy. Jessie here to clean. Came at 10:15 AM. She was waiting in lobby for me. She left her watch. Exercise class 9:30. 2nd class. Vern’s 64th birthday.

Sunny. Nice day. Talked with Lyla. I went to see Merrill in PM by bus. He was asleep all 2 ½ hours I was there. I did big wash (2 tubs) in forenoon. Steven called at supper time. They are coming tomorrow about 2 PM. Vern and June may come also.

Raining. I went for coffee and donuts. Talked with Vi. Vern and June got here about 2 PM. Steve, Kathy, and girls came soon after. Kristen and Sarah are getting so tall. They are cute girls. Vern, Steve, and I went to see Merrill. He wasn’t very alert. We all went to Bob Evans for supper. Jim and Nancy there but we didn’t see them until we came out. Today is Madison’s first birthday.

Rained during night. Cool. I went to church and Sunday school with Nash’s. I met Mrs. Lyle Caulkins. She knows Merrill from Madonna. Lazy day. Made out some checks to pay bills. Pauline Roggie called in PM.

Cool. Beautiful fall day. Bill put up new white window shade in my bedroom. Looks great. I washed my bedspread and my white sweater. Florence gave me delicious piece of chocolate pie for supper. Lyla called to say Tom Ronas, 63 died today of leukemia. I talked with Jim. Jason called here to reach him.

Nice day. Exercise class. 12 present. Give away at Grannies Attic. I called Pauline about typewriter but it was gone before I could get it for her. Give away of food from CAPC here in PM. Got a lot of stuff and all unable. Two big bags full. I got the cutest pictures of Madison and Zack today. Jolie called in PM. We didn’t talk long as I had to get free food. Called Jim in evening.

Nice day. Planning meeting for Merrill. Jim and I went at 1:15 PM. Jim took me to Sears for TV remote. They had to order one. Tom Ronas, 63, funeral at Philadelphia church at 10 AM.

Cold last night. 30° Exercise class, 11 there. Jessie here to clean for 1 hour. She went for groceries for me. Jim brought new TV remote. A nice one. Lots on it. Cost $59.

Very cold last night. Down to 20°. Sunny day. I got letter asking me to join First UMC city.

Sunny day. Lazy day. Elgin called in evening. Carmi has sore leg. He has a blood clot. They can’t come over. I called Lyla and left message. She called me back.

A just beautiful fall day. I went to church with Jim and Sherrie. World Wide Communion day. Communion I stayed for refreshments. The Bellingers gave me a ride to Genesis. I spent most of PM with Merrill.

Sunny day. Nice. Centennial meeting 7:30 PM. I went. Jane Schmitt guest speaker. In charge of volunteer help for S.M.Center and Samaritan Keep. Florence Martin moved out over weekend. She can’t stay alone.

Cloudy. Exercise class 10 present. I talked with Fran and Don Currier. He didn’t know who bought Clark and Viv’s place. VIP meeting 2-4. Edie Gamble of Verizon speaker. Carmi’s birthday. I called Jill. They have to move. Cliff is being sued. Debate between Gore and Bush. Very good.

Raining. I made fruit cocktail cake for potluck supper. Stop iron pills. Florence Martin has gone to shared care home near here. Her family is packing up her things. Jim called in evening. He has been working on his houses. I watched Country Music Awards. Very good.

Exercise class. 8 present. Jessie here to clean. 10:30 AM. Anne Lepine 1:30. My blood pressure 132/70. Very good. Potluck supper 5 PM. A good turnout and good food. Birthday supper for September and October members. My fruit cocktail cake a big hit with folks. I took Para transit bus. I went to see Merrill after my doctor appointment. Vern called in evening. They leave in morning on train trip to Montreal. Jolie called in evening.

Cloudy day. Cold. Care givers called to say I would no longer have someone to clean for me unless I paid her myself. Cheryl called to invite me to a party for Lyla Tuesday night to Philadelphia but I can’t go because of tests.

Raining and sunny off and on all day. I went for donuts and coffee in AM. I cooked some frozen rhubarb I had in freezer. Florence gave me small room humidifier. She’s getting a new one. I learned today that Merrill’s former doctor, Dr. Fish and his wife also a doctor, have offices in the former Dr. Marilley house out on Washington Street.

Cloudy. Some rain, hail and sun. I didn’t go to church today. Jim and Nancy here. They took me to Kinney’s to get stuff for tests and Crosby’s for groceries. Jim is going to drive busy for Guilfoile and also snow plow in Oswego County. Jolie and kids called in evening. Zack leaves for Georgia Saturday.

Cold cloudy. Jessie Pitcher called. She will work for me on her own. $7 an hour. She will come every other week. She will be here Thursday the 19th. I washed white and dark clothes. Today is Columbus Day. No mail, school or banks open. Betty Hull here.

Cloudy day. Snow in Oswego and Syracuse. We didn’t get any. My day to live on liquids. Not too bad. I finished gallon of Go-lytely about 4 PM. They measured windows getting ready to repair them. Sherry N called about ham dinner. Vern called in evening. They had a good trip. I called Betty Hull. We will meet in lobby at 8:15 AM. I sent Lyla birthday card.

Nice. Sunny day. Betty Hull walked me over to hospital. Dr. Weinstein at hospital at 8:30 AM. I had colon and stomach exams. I had 1 large and 1 small polyp removed from colon. Jim brought me home. Got here at 1:30 PM. Patty called. We had nice visit. She is coming to see me next week. Lyla’s birthday, 73 years old. Vern called in evening to see how I made out. Also Jim called.

Nice day. I went to exercise class. I felt better afterwards. I got my first absentee ballot so I can vote at home. Lyla called. She enjoyed our card. She got 50 birthday cards. I called Blair’s about bill. I own them for umbrella as I forgot to list price on my order.

Nice day. Sunny. I went to see Merrill by bus at 11 AM. He was awake all day and he knew me. We had a good day. He even talked to me but it is hard to make it out. Vi called. Rebekah’s installation October 25th at Philadelphia. I gave Lee the recipe for fruit cocktail cake. I had nice visit with one of Jolie’s friends from Sackets. Sue Dolling. She works at Genesis and is studying to be a doctor.

A nice sunny day but windy. I cleaned bathroom and floors. Jim Nash brought delicious ham dinners from church. I had enough for two meals. I packed telephone ready to return to be repaired. Jim called in evening. He and Nancy are helping Jody move her furniture to Virginia. Leave at 6 AM tomorrow. Will be home Tuesday. He’s using his old cell phone. 783-4621.

Partly cloudy. I went to church and Sunday school with Nash’s. I went to see Merrill afterwards. He was awake quite a bit. Vern called in evening. I called Esther and ken. They are having quit a time over Holley’s house. He hasn’t paid $23,000 back taxes, payments. Etc. Roberta may help him out. I called Elgin and Carmi. Carmi’s leg much better but he’s still on Coumadin.

Cold all day. I got bed ruffle I sent for. Maryanne, nurse called from Genesis to say the doctor wanted to start Merrill on an IV. He had blood work done.

A little wormer. Cloudy. Exercise class. 12 present. I walked to the Stewart shop for milk. I played Bingo in evening. I won $1.00. I baked pork chops, potatoes, and squash for supper. I called to see how Merrill was today. He was better, alert and talking some.

Raining. Cleared in PM. I took bus to see Merrill. He is getting pneumonia again. He still has the IV. He refuses to eat. He will have more X-rays and blood tests tomorrow. I talked with Jim. They got back late last night. Hot in Virginia. Heavy traffic on the trip. I washed clothes this morning.

A great sunny day. Jessie Pitcher here to clean. I started paying her myself. $15. For 2 hours work every other week. Jolie called in PM. Jim called in PM. He had been to see his dad. Merrill pulled out his IV. He ate some lunch. He is to have more tests. I talked with Vern in evening. He feels I should talk with doctor Perez.

A beautiful day. UPS guy picked up phone to return to company to be repair. School kids getting ready to entertain President Clinton when he comes to the North Country this weekend. I can hear the school band outside practicing this PM as I write this. The chorus is singing three numbers. I called doctor’s office. Report not back yet. Told me to call Tuesday. Jim called in evening.

A nice sunny day. Like summer. I went for coffee and donuts this AM. Had nice visit with Jim and Shari Nash there. Mrs. Bellinger called about picking me up for church. Jolie called. Joel was on three-way hook up with us. Good to talk with him. He sounds happy. I watch the “Bridges of Madison County” in evening. Also talked with Lyla. First game of World Series. Yankees 3 Mets 2. 12 innings. Rev. Dora’s 60th birthday.

Only up to 50°. President Clinton at Bonnie Castle at Alex Bay. Fund raiser for his wife. He wasn’t there less than on hour but 700 people paid $75 each to attend. $275 for refreshment party. President flew into Dexter Airport

Nice day. Sunny cool. Alice F called. Her granddaughter, Charmaine, quite ill. I called Karen in evening. Merrill has X-rays. Sent order to Blair for slacks, sweatshirts and gym set with returned checks.

Cloudy. A few showers early. I went to exercise class. Dr. LaPoint called in PM to say she hadn’t received a full report on my tests. Said I had diverticulitis and piles. I called her office earlier. Vi called to remind me of Rebekah’s installation tomorrow. World Series. Mets 4 NY 2.

Foggy in morning. Sunny. I went to Philadelphia installation with Esther and Vi, Esther’s sister and Mrs. Brown. 20 there. Nice meeting. They had country band here in evening from 7-9 PM. Very good.3 guys and 2 women. I called about AARP insurance. Game 4 World Series.

Partly cloudy. Partly sunshine. Exercise class 9:30-10:15 10 present. Go to see Merrill 12-2 PM. He was getting oxygen. I ate lunch in Genesis Cafeteria. I saw Joan Hatch there. She works in the Veteran’s department at Genesis. Roberta called form Hospital. Mr. Tousant went home today. Today is Ken and Esther’s 10th anniversary. Elgin called in evening. Also Jim. The Yankees won World Series. Mets the losers.
