Warm. Partly cloudy. Lyla in Watertown with Cheryl most of day. Cheryl had a D & C. Cathy took Lyla and I to funeral home at Dexter in evening for Paul. A steady stream of mourners from 5 PM – 9 PM. Loads of flowers. I called Jim and he met us there.

Snow flurries this morning when I got up. Amy here to clean in AM. I packed up some more stuff. Paul’s funeral. I didn’t go to it as I had no way. Roads slippery in evening. Several accidents.

Our snow is melting. I sent check to pay bills. I sorted stuff in kitchen cupboards. Jolie called. Zackary has been advanced to E6. He was also awarded “Soldier of the month” and soldier of the quarter awards. Jolie also received one for her support to her husband. He get a $250 raise in wages. Lula called. She’s spending the night with Cheryl.

Partly cloudy day. Wayne, Nancy and Alice came after me for church. I came home with Margaret and Diane. 70 in church. Rev. Jane talked about her trip to Africa. She made us feel their needs. Had special offering for them during communion because of terrible floods over there at present. Jim here in PM to take me to see Merrill but I’ll go during week. I called Juanita in PM. She said Roberta is in Oswego hospital with infection from a neighbor’s dog bite. We started our prayer penny donation in Sunday school today. May God Bless it. Doris H called in evening.

A great day. Like spring. I burned all the trash papers, 20 years of business papers too. Ruth Eggleston called me and we talked for over an hour. So good to hear from her. Her eye sight is worse than mine. Tina Brancatella Vanderbogart called to ask about our house to buy. We got letter from Clark and Vivian. Lyla called in evening and said Cheryl has cancer. She goes to Syracuse Thursday for a hysterectomy. So many of our family have had cancer.

A beautiful day. Lyla got me more boxes at Big M. I went to city with Lyla. We went to see Merrill. He wasn’t talking much today. He weighs 146 pounds. I voted in primary on way to city. Bush, McCain race. Vi called in evening. I called Jim this morning. He took day off to paint on his apartments.

Thunder storm this PM. Raining. Still very warm. 71° high. Amy here to clean. She went to store and also paid water bill for me. I sorted more clothing. Cheryl, Lyla, Kathy, and Marion went to Syracuse so Cheryl could see Dr. Musa. She has operation March 17 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Alice Flaherty called in PM. Also Lyla when she got home. Saw the first robin this year.

Freezing rain in PM. Cloudy during night. I made cake. Jim, Nancy, Vern and June here working most of the day. We got a lot done. Girls packed dishes. Guys worked at garage stuff. Vern has new lawn tractor with several attachments. They left about 4 PM. It was beginning to freeze on. Lyla called in evening. Cheryl has to be at St. Joe’s Hospital Friday morning. Joel called from Iowa. His broken leg doing okay. He and Camille are engaged.

Sunny. In the 40’s. I talked with Lyla and Margaret. Kyle Keichle plowed my driveway. A young man brought my 2000 Census to fill out. I talked with Helen and Frank Robbins. A new furnace here will cost $2100 installed. Tony H came over and patched firebox again in furnace. I called Donna E for appointment for perm. Alice Flaherty called. Patrick and Jolie’s break up is so hard on her because of the two little daughters. I talked with Jim.

A little snow over night. Cloudy day. Lyla brought me more boxes from Big M. Water in cellar. I called Jim at work. He came out after work. He had to go to Antwerp for a hose for sump pump at Robbin’s store. Got nice letter from Jun and a nice House For Sale sign Vern made. Nice pictures.

I sent back 2000 census. There is still water in cellar. Raining in evening. Jim called on his way home from city. He had been to see his dad. Jolie called in PM. Also talked with Zack. Jolie and kids are coming home when Zack goes to Georgia training for 7 weeks. Something happened to sump pump last night about 11:30 PM. I couldn’t reach Jim so I called 911. Randy Turner, Philadelphia Fire Chief came and found the host had fallen out of window. Water was just about up to furnace motor by then.

Raining. Getting colder. Jim and Walt P came out in morning. They found drain under wood pile. Drain is plugged. I got some more boxes ready. Amy here to clean. She has a new car. She went to store for me. I called Times paper. $7/70 for two weeks here until April 1st. Jim came back after work with a snake to use on drainpipe. Cellar end has dirt in it. Tile could be broke like 9 years ago. I wrote Juanita. Sent her $11 for Paul’s flowers.

Sunny. Great day. A busy day. Donna with Perm 10 AM. She gave me perm $20. Feels so good and looks great. Vern and June came in A<. Vern found out there was ice in hose. He wired it so I can unplug it in hall. The sump pump. June brought stuff for lunch. I talked with Jim a couple times. Larry Ashley called to say Cheryl came through her operation fine. It was a small cancer. Lyla came home tonight. Scott Gleason and De De Dumon (?) came to look at my house to buy.

We had a nice visit. I called Jim at work. I left a message for Elmer Hoover but he didn’t call back. I called Centennial but Hope’s plane from Florida was delayed today. She is just returning home. My apartment isn’t ready. Jolie called after I got in bed. Talked with Zack also. They are trading their jeep for a car. Zack will get a bike to ride to work.

Merrill’s 91st birthday. Nice spring like day. Vern and June got here about 9:30. We went to city to help Merrill celebrate his 91st birthday. He was in good spirits and enjoyed his cards. He had lobster steak and a cake with a candle. The doctor had been to see him and he had had X-rays. He has some pneumonia in left lung. We went to Social Services and also layer Gebo. I have to get the house transferred to my name only. We have to have an appraiser look at house. Vern called in evening. Also Lyla.

Partly cloudy and sunny day. Amy here to clean. I called Agway not to bring anymore fuel oil. Matt Hoover and Steven Graham dug up drain and got it working again. Pipe was full of dirt. I called Jim and Lyla. My appointment with Dr. LaPoint 2:45 PM. She increased my water pills. Janet from Oxbow took me to city. She has a baby boy now, Curtis Mark. Her daughter Kelsey had her 2nd birthday yesterday. Jolie called after I was in bed.

Jim starts on liquids in the morning for his test Monday. He’s not looking forward to them. He didn’t take the police chief test today. Lyla called. Gary is moving back to Antwerp section. The average price of regular gas in $159 now.

I washed a lot of my clothes. Also wall hanging. Sorted pictures in evening. Donna E stopped by with my pictures.

A nice day. Lyla took me to city to Centennial. I signed all the lease papers. $211 deposit and $151 rent. Irene Foley from the Olga is a resident there. We went to see Merrill. He wasn’t as alert today. We ate lunch at John Silver’s. I got medicines at Pharmhouse. Alice F called. Also Elmer Hoover. Lyla called. Wayne and Nancy left Florida fruit they brought home. Delicious. I washed curtains in evening from apartment. Hope gave them to me.
