Back on standard time. A beautiful day. 70° sunny. We went to church. Laity Sunday. The Sunday School, Sharrie and Ellen took part. Rev. Elaine played her guitar and Lanne piano. All very nice. Vi came to church. Ken and Esther’s 6th anniversary. They came out and took us to Philadelphia Restaurant for dinner. A nice day to get together. Jim here in his Bike in PM

Merrill had a terrible night. Only slept about an hour. He got up and dressed and sat up rest of night. Pauline called from Margies.

8 AM Merrill to hospital for ultra sound. We were there about 4 hours. Jill took us. Jim came to hospital. Vern called in evening. Also Jim. A nice sunny day.

Raining and windy. Back to hospital at 8:00-8:30 for check up. Jim took us. We went to Cliffs garage and he put new wipers on car. He took his (?) to Avon shoe store and ordered black sneakers.

Very cold windy. 44° We went for groceries in AM. Halloween. Only 3 kids here. Very windy and cold Snow flurries in evening. More snow Adams way. I washed dark clothes.

Partly sunny day. Cold. Dr. Hinman called. He said Merrill has something in his thyroid. Wants him to have another ultra sound test. Jim called twice. He is going to call Vernon and June.

Not bad day but cold wind. Snow out Adams way. 44° I washed clothes. Merrill cleaned floors. Vivian called to ask about Merrill. Shirley called.

Sunny and cold. We went to church 54 out. Lazy day. Jim called in evening. 7 inches of snow at the cabin. Jim and Ashley got wood. Sue worked the lat shift.

Sunny, still windy. Merrill didn’t sleep much. Up and dressed at 2 AM. Dr. Hinman made appointment for ultra sound for Merrill for Friday November 8th at 8:30. Jim called at suppertime. Margaret called about Marion. Marion Parker 95 died at Samaritan Keep Home.

President Clinton won again. Election day. Raining. We voted in forenoon. Stopped at Medical Center for Merrill’s prescription. Asked them to e x tend my doctor visits to more than 10 for social Security. I go package from signatures. Got free $25.00 pen fir doing puzzle. Merrill slept all night without waking. Great. He took Tylenol pill last night. Vern called in evening.

Very foggy this morning. Lots of election results on TV. Jim called in PM when he got off work.

Raining. Warm. Merrill’s hearing aids are in. Will get them tomorrow. He went for groceries and gas. Rev Elaine called. Said Martha Meeks was in hospital. A pipe bomb was found in county court building. Jim had busy day. Also Ed Gagan Leon Fort Drum, Sandy’s husband.

Pouring rain all day. Merrill’s appointment for ultra sound 8:30 AM. Jim took us. He has a real nice black 4 door car. Oldsmobile. He took us to Pharmhouse for drugs and Sears. We bought a kitchen range on sale $139 off with 10% off coupon. Merrill got hearing aids at Watertown Hearing Center. Sue L met us at hospital. Merrill was sick on way home. Vomited. Vern’s award banquet at the college. Wish we could have gone to it.

Rainy cloudy. Merrill took garbage. I sent Vi note. Merrill enjoying his hearing aids. He wore them all day.

Rain some sun, cloudy. We went to church. Merrill didn’t usher. Good to have him sit in pew with me He has been an usher for 35 years at least. Esther called in morning. Ken dressed 40 deer. Paulene R called. Also Jim. I called Nancy Neal in Kansas. Leon Tryon has moved his family to Kansas. Elmer living with them in new double wide. Tom had heart attack and triple bypass operation. Nancy not working.

Veterans Day. No school or mail. Paper went. Jolie and Shawn Michael called. I washed dark clothes. I made apple pie. Merrill peeled apples. They are getting lots of snow all around us None here as of yet this fall. I called vi at her new home. Martha still in Syracuse hospital. Went last Tuesday. Lyla called in evening.

We have a little snow on the ground this morning. First of the season. More snow other places. Jim brought our new cook stove. His truck quit at Mall so he had to get his other truck at police station. He took old stove to dump. Vi called. Also Margaret K. Vi going to see Martha with Joc’s so won’t be at lodge.

Sunny cold. Rebekahs. I went with Ginny. She has a new 1997 car. 8 of us out. Merrill’s report from hospital not back yet.

Sunny, cold. Down to 10° during night. Snowed had at supper time for about an hour. Everything covered. Looks great. Like winter. Plow over for first time. I used my stove for first time to get supper. No doctor’s report. Jim called in the evening.

Sunny cold wind. We went for groceries in AM. Dr. Mike Hinman called. He said Merrill’s test shows it is probably cancer. Jim called early. Vern called in evening. He thinks his dad should go to Syracuse for operation. New law today Drivers test cost $44.25. Only 5 questions to answer now. 3 of 5 to pass.

Cold and sunny. I called Jim, Esther, Rev Elaine, Pauline, Lyla. Esther’s sister had her operation in Syracuse. Merrill took garbage. I washed clothes. Sue here for church money.

Beautiful warm day. We went to church. Vernon here when we got home. Took us to Philadelphia restaurant for lunch. Jim Sue, and Ashley there also. Came here afterwards, June went to visit teacher friend.

Cloudy, foggy, rainy. Dr. Mike made appointment with Dr. P Numan for Merrill for December 19th at 1 PM. I worked all forenoon writing checks filling out reports. Sent (?) application. Jim called. Also Vi. I called Vern’s answering service. Vi called in PM.

Warmer. Got birthday cards from Lyla and Ken and Esther. Ken and Esther gave me $10.00. Merrill went to get haircut but shop closed.

Cloudy rainy. Pre op tests 9 AM. Took until 1:30. Jim came after us. Ate at hospital café. We were both tired when we got home. Margaret called also Vi.

My 79th birthday. Merrill got haircut finally. Shop not open until Thursday. We went for groceries in AM. Got Thanksgiving turkey for @.39 for 20 pounds. Jim called at noon to wish me Happy Birthday. Margaret K brought Merrill a basket of gords. So pretty. Got nice letter and birthday card from Dan and Robin.

Dr. LaPointe 1:00 and Dr. Parsinski 10:45 AM. Vivian Terse took me. We ate at Crystal Restaurant. Dr. LaPoint very good. My first time to see her. Changed my BP pills to 3mg. I have kidney infection. Jim called in evening to see how things went.

Snowing in PM. Donna- perm at 10:30 AM. Merrill took me down. Donna brought me home. Merrill washed woodwork. Vivian called in PM. I did two tubs of wash in morning. Made cake when I got home.

We didn’t go to church. Merrill had bad night. Got up at 2:00 AM. I wrote letter to Elmer. I called to invite Jim and Jill to Thanksgiving. Dustin Drake and dog Chelsa here in PM. He’s a nice little boy.

Snowing. Snowed during night. Merrill cleaned driveway with snow blower. Juanita called and talked for an hour. Don having foot troubles. I sent Ken and Esther note. Sent Elmer’s letter. Jim called in evening.

A little snow overnight. Merrill only slept until midnight. Merrill cleaned driveway. I called Vi. Martha is having her spleen out today. I called Alice. Jolie called. Dr. Mike says sleeping pills wouldn’t help Merrill sleep longer. Jolie and Shawn Michael went to Emergency room in Ohio. Jolie with her tooth, Shawn Michael had asthma attack. I got birthday card from Patty.

Nice day today. Got thing ready to cook tomorrow. Set the table. Merrill cleaned floors and dusted furniture. Also peeled carrots. I talked with Vi. Martha came thru spleen operation ok. Alice F called. Jim called in evening. Virginia and Gerald Delles 55th wedding anniversary.

Thanksgiving. A little snow. A great day for the holiday. Vernon and June, Bea, Jim, Sue, Jolie, Shawn Michael, Joel, Jill, Jim, Merrill and I here. June brought delicious salad and rolls and Sue muffins. I talked with Linda B in evening.

Warmer today. God dishes put away and things back. Washed tablecloth etc. Merrill went for gas for snow blower. Lyla stopped by. Gave me nice snapshot of aunt Maude on her 91st birthday. Vernon called in PM. Pauline R called in evening.

Warm. In the 40’s. Paid bills to mail. Merrill took garbage. I washed clothes. Got note and pictures of Dan and Robin from June and Vern. Rev Elaine called.

Rainy and windy. We went to church. 51 out. Vern called. Debby will stay with Merrill while I’m in hospital. Jolie called. She was coming out but got called into work.

I washed clothes. I called Debby. Talked with Vi. Martha doing ok after operation.

I changed the batteries in Merrill’s hearing aids. First time he got them 11//96. We went for groceries in AM. Jim here in PM. WE called Debby. She’s coming at noon tomorrow. Steve, June and Vernon called. Also Vivian.

Hospital at 6 AM for knee operation. Jim came after me at 5:30. Sue here in morning. Her birthday. Debby brought Merrill out in PM. Jim, Sue, and Jolie got me flowers. Jolie and Zack here. I had unit of my own blood.

I got 2 units of blood. Last UMW meeting at Philadelphia. Rev. Elaine here to see me. Also Merrill, Debby, Jim, Sue, Patty, Esther, Jolie, Zack, Joel, and (?) and Glenda. Doris H called in evening. Also Vern.

I went to therapy twice. Merrill, Debbie here. Jim, Sue, Rev Elaine here. Vernon and June brought me pretty flowers. I talked with Helen P. Vi called. Jill called in evening. I walked to bathroom without walker.

I had therapy in my room. Merrill, Debby, June, Vern, Jolie, Zack, Clark and Vivian here. Vivian brought me powder. Jolie’s been an angel. Vern came. Jim called. He has bad cold. Was working. Vi called. Martha was coming home today. Lyla called. Gary and son left for Missouri to live.

Debby had friend Patty spend night. Merrill and Debby here at 8:30. Merrill upset about things. BP 128/60. Cheryl, Ashley here. Jim called. He’s feeling better, but sounds terrible. Vern called. Also Jill. Juanita called Merrill.

I weigh 140 pounds. BP 148/80. Temp 95.5. I go home today. Merrill and Debby came after me in PM. Jolie and Shawn Michael there. Ate lunch with Merrill. Got drugs from Pharmhouse. Rebekahs gave me plant. Vern’s called. Also Jim. He went to doctor for medicine.

Debby called in evening. We washed clothes. Merrill cleaned living room floor.

Our 61st anniversary. Rebekah’s out to eat at John Hooverton’s Restaurant at Evans Mills. Elgin’s called in morning to wish us happy 61st anniversary. He told us Vera Streader died Monday of heart attack. Private family service tomorrow at 1:00 in Iroquois Jim and Sue here in evening. I called Pauline. Vivian called.

Friday the 13th. Raining all day. I talked with Vi. Martha well enough to go shopping. Alice called. I called Vivian. Lyla was here. She, Cheryl, Kathy went to Vera’s funeral yesterday. Nurse called about Coumadin.

Snowing some. Cloudy and dark. Merrill didn’t sleep any last night. I didn’t get much sleep either. Got several cards. Got note from Gloria. Rhonda has baby boy. Christopher. He’s 2 months old now. Heap is sending Agway $224.00 for fuel.

Washed my hair. Washed some clothes. Sue B here. Brought us Hawaiian bread. Vivian here. Brought us candy Clark had made. Rosie and Elmer Gleason here in early evening. Sun School musical tonight 7:00 PM.
