Merrill took 3 weeks garbage. We washed clothes. Nice day. Merrill cleaned floors.

We went to church 28 out. 15 kids went to Camp Aldersgate this year. Raining. Watertown Fair opened today, 6:30, 178 years.

Dr. Stark, 2:00 PM. I weighed 147 pounds. Gained 2 pounds. Blood pressure 127/80. He gave me permit to get B-12 shots at Philadelphia Medical Center each month. Jolie called. Jill spent weekend in Mississippi with Jan.

I called Redfield County. They have sent sewer estimate to Black River. Merrill mowed asparagus weeds. Sent Don card and letter.

Don’s 72nd birthday. Gloria and Roger and Sandy here. We went to Philadelphia Restaurant in Plaza for lunch. Very nice. Our first time there.

I called Insurance company. Made appointment at Philadelphia Medical Center for B-12 shot. Reported Trerise’s phone. Merrill cut brush along fence. Lyla was here in evening. Brought me pictures of reunion.

Merrill mowed lawns. Merrill went for groceries in AM. Two thunder storms late in evening. I baked a cake. Merrill asked Elmer Hoover about putting in septic system. Black River needs 2nd estimate.

Washed clothes. Merrill finished lawns.

We went to church, 31 out. Elmer Hoover here for estimate on septic system.

Dr. Parcinski, 1 PM. He started me on new drops, trusopt, 3 times a day. No more Epifrin or betogin (?) We went to Philadelphia Restaurant for supper.

1:30 Philadelphia Medical Center. Mike saw Merrill also. We went to Pharmhouse for medicine.

Got B-12 shot at Philadelphia Medical for first time. Got 2 dozen rolls for ice cream social. Got invitation to Art and Madeline Mill’s 50th anniversary.

Ice Cream Social, 5:00 PM. A good turnout. “Back in Time”, music. Made $570.00.

Merrill went for groceries in AM. Shirley called.

Sent Beulah birthday card and letter. Washed clothes. Vern called. Baked brownies.

We went to church, 27 there. Jim called. He and Sue have been on a bike trip to Vermont etc. 1,500 miles. Vern, June, Bea here for PM and supper.

Beulah’s birthday, 72 years. Merrill mowed lawns. Nice day but on cool side. I’m lame today. Rev. Elaine away until 11th.

We cleaned stove. I cleaned bathtub. Both needed it bad. Nice day. Got nice note from Bea Gehm

Merrill went for groceries in AM. Agway brought first fuel oil this fall, 90.2 gallon @ 86.9¢. Virginia Lawrence called. We are to call Redfield.

I called Redfield’s. Rebecca to get back to me. Sink and wash basin plugged. Merrill put grease in sink drain. Dan and Robin’s 5th anniversary. Rev. Elaine home.

Washed clothes. Thunder storm in early morning. Rained. Mickey Mantle, 63 died.

We went to church, 23 out. Rev. Catherine there. Lazy day. No company.

Rev. Elaine on vacation until the 20th. I called Redfield again. Rebecca not in. Merrill started digging up drain pipes. Jim, Sue, and Ashley here in evening. Jim taped Dad talking about by gone days with his Dad, Elmer, etc.

Still hot and humid. Worst humid, hot day so far.

I called Virginia Lawrence. She has carpenter in mind. Chip (?) of Canton. Jolie called twice about JCC.

Talked with Vi. Julie is living with her. She has a job at Agway. Talked with Eleanor Henderson. Merrill went for groceries in AM. Jim on TV news about Public Square “Neighborhood Watch”.

We went to city to drug store. Still hot and humid. My right knee very sore.

Washed clothes. Merrill took garbage and cleaned floors.

Charlie Covell, pulpit, 23 out. Rev. Elaine home. Good sermon. Sue and Jim’s deed sale is in paper.

Vacation Bible School all week. 6-8 PM. Jolie called. She got all enrolled at JCC. Vern’s sent Jolie $100.00 for books.

Steve and Kathy’s 8th anniversary. I called Lyla. Aunt Maude fell out of bed. No bones broken. Doreen called and invited us to a party at her house, September 3. Froze tomatoes. Cooler today.

Returned water test. Cool in morning.

Cooler but nice day. Sent Vern and June card, letters, and $35.00 check. Sent card to Miles. Sue B here for church money. They have been on a trip to the Bahamas. Jolie called. She is going to work at the college.

Last day of Bible School. Stephanie and Cha here in AM. Sammy going back with Cha. Stephen goes to Binghamton College. Stephanie in 4th year at Cornell.

Party for Art and Madeline Miles, 50th anniversary. We didn’t go. Washed. Vern and June stopped by. Spent weekend at Pine Tree Point.

Vern and June’s 35th anniversary. We went to drug store for Merrill’s pills. Took Jolie $100 for school. Jim called.

Virginia called from Black River Housing. Chips bid is $7,875. Elmer’s is $2,300. Jim wanted us to go to Lake Placid Museum with them today but I’m too lame and sore.

Donna, noon. Got my hair cut. Elmer and Nancy here in PM. Both look good. Nancy had her neck operated on for arthritis.

Pick up frozen food. Men’s church Bar-B-Q. 5:00 PM. Merrill worked on it. Roger, Gloria, Sandy and two kids she cares for here in AM. Debby here in evening on way home from Carthage.

Gladys Lamon called. She has been sick all summer. Had gall bladder operation. She has liver trouble now. Sent Jim birthday card, and $10.00.

Merrill went for groceries in morning. To contract to Elmer H. (?) My knees real bad.

Jim’s 52nd birthday. Washed clothes. Lyla and Amy brought twins over. So cute.

Church back on 11:15 schedule, communion. We didn’t go. We went to Doreen’s for family picnic. Nice time. Her new house is great. Rained in late PM.
