We went to church, 30 out. Charlie Covell preached. Good. We went to store after church. We went to funeral home for Carl Theabault, 85 in PM.

-11° this morning. Bad snow storm on way up and down Eastern coast. Warnings on radio and TV all day. Worked at church books. Sue called.

Snowing. Terrible stormy all over. Folks asked to stay off roads. Most schools closed. Indian River closed at noon. No mail or Times.

Mail went early. Sent Ken card and letter. Folks digging out from storm. Indian River School on 2 hour delay. Got two papers today. Merrill cleaned out driveway with blower.

Ken’s 74th birthday. -27° below zero this morning. Indian River School on 2 hour delay. Sent Ken card and church Benevolence letter today. Merrill took church books to Rosie to audit. I washed work clothes.

Nice today. Warmer but still below zero. Merrill cleaned driveway again. I sent tax return for rebate, $119.69. Merrill went over to see Gary. Agway brought 82.7 gallons of fuel oil, 99¢. Rev. Carol returned from vacation.

Merrill cleaned driveway. Took garbage. I washed clothes. Below zero this morning. Cold and snowy all day. Vern called in PM.

We didn’t go to church, 50 there. Our furnace quit. Wiring burnt off. Frank Robbins put new wiring on it. Still below zero in morning. Sunny all day but very cold. I called Don’s. Donnie in Liverpool going to tractor trailer school.

-27° below in morning. Sunny day. Only up to 8° all day. Jim, Sue, and Ashley here for supper. Had been to Syracuse. News breaking tonight of the murder of Sara Ann Woods. Man caught for other children’s death.

Warmer. Up to 32°. Cloudy all day. Talked with Vi and Ginny. Lots on news about search for Sara Ann Woods body in Adirondack. Administrative Council, but we didn’t go.

Sunny day. We went to city in PM. Went to Pharmhouse for pills. Dr. Stark 1:00 PM. Everything okay. Rebekah’s, but I didn’t go.

Much warmer. Freezing rain. School delayed 1 hour. We went for groceries in AM. Robert Congdon called in evening. Beulah very ill in hospital. They called all the kids today to the hospital. She has had a slight stroke. She went back to hospital last Sunday. She fell in bathtub and cracked rib.

Gladys Lamon’s 84th birthday. I got letter from Beulah Macklin. Keeps her busy shoveling snow.

-22° below zero this morning. -10° all day. Washed clothes. Merrill cleaned out driveway again. I baked chocolate cake. Merrill called Gladys.

Record cold, -45° over night. Coldest in US. We went to church, 22 out.

8 above this morning. 51° warmer than yesterday morning. Holiday today. There was a terrible earthquake in California at 4:32 AM. 6.6 on R. scale. We watched it on TV most all day. 33 people dead. Vern called in evening. (Total 55 from quake.)

Merrill cleaned driveway again. Still cold. Finally got order from Blairs that I sent for in November. (gold blouse, ivory sweater, plaid skirt, brown slacks, and navy slacks) all fit good. Terrible stormy in Adams section. Roads closed. Heather and Gilenda here for church money. Ordered Girl Scout Cookies from them. (2).

-22° below this morning. The Gliesner’s (?) barn burned at 5 AM. 15 fire companies there. 60 head of cattle burned. Terrible stormy toward Adams and Syracuse. Everything closed in Oswego because of storm. This sure is a bad winter all over. Worst one in years. Sunny here but below zero. Started snowing here in PM. School let out at noon. Times didn’t come.

-8° this morning. Sunny in PM. Drain pipes still frozen this morning. Merrill went to Antwerp for washer for sink drain pipe. Watertown schools and south still closed as it is still snowing hard. Indian River on 2 hour delay. Merrill cleaned driveway again. I washed dark clothes.

7° above for first time in days in morning. Windy in PM and evening. Blowing snow. Still very stormy out Adams way. Schools still closed there. Also Sackets Harbor. Gladys Lamon called. Indian River School let out at noon. City schools closed.

Very stormy all over. Windy, 22°. Cleared in PM. Merrill cleaned driveway. We went for groceries in PM. Washed clothes. Jim’s 26th anniversary on the city police. He became a member on 1/22/68.

We went to church, 42 out. Cold. Some snow flurries. We went to drug store in PM. They put new battery in my watch that I’ve only had 5 months. Called Danny C. Beulah still in ICU.

Much warmer. Some snow flurries in PM. Up to 20°. Kitchen sink drain finally thawed out.

Temperature down to zero again this morning. Wrote Kathy and Steve. Sent taxes and water rent, $120.00 for six months.

-24° this morning. Warmed up to 8° above in PM. Merrill cleaned out driveway again. Jim called in evening. He and Sue at Explorer meeting. They are surviving our winter so far. Lots of snow at Lorraine. Juanita’s sister Sylvia, 68 died. Her funeral is tomorrow.

40° in morning. Up to 50° during day. Lots of water around. Ice everywhere from last night. Most all schools closed. Route 81 closed due to accident. Agway brought 81 gallons of fuel oil. We have used about 4 gallons a day the last 20 days, plus the wood fire. Church roast beef supper in evening. Merrill went over and brought ours home. Delicious. cost $5.50.

-8° below zero this morning. Only up to 8° all day. We went to church, 49 out. Church cook books are here @ $7.00. Super Bowl: Texas cowboys won over Buffalo Bills, 30-13.

-8° below zero this morning. Kitchen sink drain frozen again. Didn’t thaw all day. Gary Belile went to hospital about 8:00 PM by ambulance.

Just zero this morning. Sunny day. Only up to 10° during day. I wrote Beulah. Gary B has another brain tumor. Barbara called. Gary had MRI test. His tumor the size of a golf ball. Near same spot as his other one. We cleaned our bedroom. Flipped mattress.

Only down to 0° over night. Up to 18. Gary Belile has 2nd brain tumor operation. They found more tumors. So sad. He’s 53. Ground hog day. Sun out in PM. Cloudy in morning. Talked with Vivian twice.

Temperature 16° in morning. 22° later. Windy. Snowed some. Sunny some. UMW at parsonage. Called off because of the weather. Hard to see to drive with the blowing snow. Drains still frozen. Hot water won’t thaw them. Barbara called. They were telling Gary today about his many tumors. Got letter from Evelyn and Howard.

10°, up to 18° and windy. Merrill cleaned driveway. Still snowing off and on. Indian River Central closed. Also several others. Got letters from Juanita and Beulah. Times didn’t come. Talked with Linda B in evening. Gary under heavy medication today. He is to have radiation treatments.

2° in morning, up to 8° in PM. Paid bills, electric bill $196.96 (2 months), cable $20.30, telephone $30.73 (3 months). Jim, Sue, Ashley, Jolie, and Shawn Michael here for supper. Kids so cute. Got refund from HEAP, $175.00.

-8° in morning. I talked with Barbara. Gary moved out of ICU to a special care room. He is eating good. Margaret Waters in hospital. She has had a stroke. A mini one. They let her come home.

Sent Joel card, note, and $10.00. Jolie called. She and Jamie going to North Carolina, February 18-21 to visit Jamie’s folks.

Joel’s 18th birthday. We didn’t go to church. Stormy day, freezing rain, snowy. Beulah Congdon, 82 died this morning. Vern called two times. Also Robert C. I called Beulah M. I talked with Sandy twice. Also Sue and Jim called.

Cold, sunny, -2°, up to 8°. Merrill cleaned driveway. Terrible stormy Syracuse way. Jim and Sue had to go to Rochester. We went to bank and Pharmhouse. Tired me out. I don’t know why I’m so tired all the time. Called Gladys Lamon to tell her about Beulah. Rev. Carol called. Talked with Jolie and Shawn Michael. Kevin and Lorraine Pickert had baby girl, Sara Ann today.

4°, up to 32°. Visiting hours for Beulah at Colvin-Robertson Funeral Home in Savannah, 2-4 and 7-9. Sandy and Gloria called. Jim called in evening. He is taking us to Beulah’s funeral. Called June and Vern.

8° in AM. Beulah’s funeral, 2 PM. Jim and Sue took us. A large funeral. Her 10 kids all there. Nice service. Lots of flowers. We stopped at Timmy’s and Calvin’s home. Came home by Oswego and stopped at June and Vern’s. They gave us their picture.

40°. Warmest day in weeks. Sunny. Lyla was here. Sent Jill card, letter, and $10.00. Lyla was here, Cheryl has to have a hip replacement on hip damaged by accident years ago. Talked with Vi in evening.

50°. Great day. We went for groceries in AM. Merrill washed car. Wrote Evelyn and Howard. Jolie and Jamie were to go to North Carolina. Jolie didn’t go.

Jill’s 19th birthday. Up to 60°. Great. Washed clothes. Jim, Joel, and a friend, Michael Stewart in bad accident at Sackets. A drunk driver ran into them. Jim hurt the worst, broken neck, crushed knee, and all had head injuries. Sue called early and Patty later in evening. Doctor Peckham is doctor.
