Paul’s funeral. We went. Rev. Graves had good service. We took food to Margaret and Roy’s from UMW.

We went to Sears for paint for kitchen. Went to bank. Gloria V called from Sandy’s. They blew up the old Court Street bridge in early evening. It has stood there for 72 years. Was built in 1921.

We went for groceries in morning. We started cleaning kitchen. Getting it ready to paint. Jim called. He’s putting his window in tomorrow.

We went to Jim’s and helped him put in picture window in living room. Merrill helped at Men’s Church supper when we got home. Very good. Made $324.25.

176th Watertown Jefferson County Fair starts. Merrill took garbage. I washed clothes. Sent Don card, and letter. Merrill washed kitchen and hall woodwork. Margaret brought flowers for church from Paul’s funeral.

We went to church, 29 out. We took Bill and Vi for ride to Gouverneur, Harrisville, Natural Bridge. Ate supper at The Crystal Rest on Square in city.

Don’s birthday, 70th. Merrill did lawns. Cloudy day. Debby and Shirley here in PM. Debby’s coming tomorrow to paint.

Debby finished painting. Looks so great, $150. Merrill helped Elmer remove door at church and fix doorway. Debby left about 3 PM. We shampooed kitchen carpet. Ida Mae Horton stopped by in evening.

Merrill mowed lawns. I washed windows. Froze yellow beans. Jim and Sue here on bike a few minutes. Out riding up Gouverneur way.

Elgin called. All are well. We went to city. Got medicine. Got a new, easier to see, Timex watch, $22.00. Merrill got glass for storm window and back door. Called June in evening. She wants us to take trip around 1000 Islands next week. Rained hard here in AM. Froze green beans.

Ice Cream Social. North Jefferson Community Band played. Great. Had it inside as it rained. Had a big crowd in spite of rain. Merrill put new glass in back door. Debby stopped by on way to city. Merrill picked first cukes. Sent Beulah card and letter.

Vern, June, Bea, Merrill, and I took boat trip around 1000 Islands. Great. Beautiful day for it. Elmer called in AM. Marie in hospital at Oswego. Very ill. Called Jim at Sue’s. Rev. Dick Graves goes into Syracuse hospital for cancer treatment on tongue.

We went to Oswego. Marie feeling much better. Saw her son Byron and family at hospital. Wife and daughter Christine also. Saw Wendell’s ex-wife and his son and also Nancy. Spent the night at Vern and June’s. Bob Lafave, 54 killed on tractor by 700 pound bale of hay.

Went to hospital to see Marie. She wasn’t doing good at all. Her son Wendell and wife there. Vern’s and us ate at Wendy’s. We stopped at Don and Juanita’s on way home. Harlon Wood has cancer operation. Robin and Dan’s 3rd anniversary.

We went for groceries in AM. Merrill put stain on patio. Vern called in evening. Marie still in ICU (15 days). Not much change. Nancy at hospital while he was there. Josephine Carnevale, 79 died.

Vern and June go to West virginia. I made 4 dozen cinnamon rolls for church farmer’s market tomorrow. Merrill painted patio 2nd coat of sealer. Terrible wind storm in South Jefferson and Northern Oswego Counties.

Vern and June’s 33rd anniversary. I made 3 dozen rolls for church farmer’s market tomorrow. Merrill cut weeds. Leo Wilson brought 8 cord of wood @ $30. Velma Crump, 78 died this morning at home.

Church back at 11:15, Communion. 43 out. Marion and Diane went with us. Teresa Van Epps called at 4:30 to say that Marie had died. I called June and Vern, Jim and Sue in mountains.
