Paul’s funeral. We went. Rev. Graves had good service. We took food to Margaret and Roy’s from UMW.

We went to Sears for paint for kitchen. Went to bank. Gloria V called from Sandy’s. They blew up the old Court Street bridge in early evening. It has stood there for 72 years. Was built in 1921.

We went for groceries in morning. We started cleaning kitchen. Getting it ready to paint. Jim called. He’s putting his window in tomorrow.

We went to Jim’s and helped him put in picture window in living room. Merrill helped at Men’s Church supper when we got home. Very good. Made $324.25.

176th Watertown Jefferson County Fair starts. Merrill took garbage. I washed clothes. Sent Don card, and letter. Merrill washed kitchen and hall woodwork. Margaret brought flowers for church from Paul’s funeral.

We went to church, 29 out. We took Bill and Vi for ride to Gouverneur, Harrisville, Natural Bridge. Ate supper at The Crystal Rest on Square in city.

Don’s birthday, 70th. Merrill did lawns. Cloudy day. Debby and Shirley here in PM. Debby’s coming tomorrow to paint.

Rained hard during night. Debby here before 7 AM to paint. Got walls ready to paint. Debby went to Shirley’s for night. Sue here for church money. Gary B left with Linda to Binghamton for rest of week.

Debby here painting all day. Looks so nice. Debby went to Gouverneur tonight.

Debby finished painting. Looks so great, $150. Merrill helped Elmer remove door at church and fix doorway. Debby left about 3 PM. We shampooed kitchen carpet. Ida Mae Horton stopped by in evening.

We went for groceries in AM. Got stuff back in kitchen. It looks so clean.

Merrill took garbage. Washed clothes. Picked first string beans from garden. Froze some.

Communion, 36 out. A beautiful day. Rev. Dick Graves has cancer. Also Harlon Wood.

Rained during night. Thunder storms in places during day. Talked with Mary Hall.

Merrill mowed lawns. I washed windows. Froze yellow beans. Jim and Sue here on bike a few minutes. Out riding up Gouverneur way.

Elgin called. All are well. We went to city. Got medicine. Got a new, easier to see, Timex watch, $22.00. Merrill got glass for storm window and back door. Called June in evening. She wants us to take trip around 1000 Islands next week. Rained hard here in AM. Froze green beans.

Ice Cream Social. North Jefferson Community Band played. Great. Had it inside as it rained. Had a big crowd in spite of rain. Merrill put new glass in back door. Debby stopped by on way to city. Merrill picked first cukes. Sent Beulah card and letter.

Much cooler in morning. We went for groceries in morning. I called Jolie.

Beulah’s birthday, 70. Merrill took trash. I washed clothes.

We went to church 42. Angel Lynn Seery (?) baptized.

Vern, June, Bea, Merrill, and I took boat trip around 1000 Islands. Great. Beautiful day for it. Elmer called in AM. Marie in hospital at Oswego. Very ill. Called Jim at Sue’s. Rev. Dick Graves goes into Syracuse hospital for cancer treatment on tongue.

We went to Oswego. Marie feeling much better. Saw her son Byron and family at hospital. Wife and daughter Christine also. Saw Wendell’s ex-wife and his son and also Nancy. Spent the night at Vern and June’s. Bob Lafave, 54 killed on tractor by 700 pound bale of hay.

Went to hospital to see Marie. She wasn’t doing good at all. Her son Wendell and wife there. Vern’s and us ate at Wendy’s. We stopped at Don and Juanita’s on way home. Harlon Wood has cancer operation. Robin and Dan’s 3rd anniversary.

We went for groceries in AM. Merrill got hair cut. Jim called.

Bob Lafave’s, 54 funeral. Sent letter and Reader’s Digest about Vern’s subscription. Terry McKeever here. He’s running for Town Councilman. I made cinnamon rolls for farmer’s market. Merrill mowed lawn.

Merrill took garbage. I washed clothes. Merrill mowed side yard. Took 3 dozen cinnamon rolls, 12 cucumbers, and yellow beans to church farmer’s market. Had thunderstorm in PM.

We went to church, 56 out. A beautiful day.

I sent Marie card at Oswego Hospital. Froze green beans. Merrill put storm window on back store room. Glass was broken. Cloudy. Rain showers. Merrill went to trustees meeting in evening.

Froze yellow beans. Cloudy day. Very warm.

Foggy in morning. Merrill washed back patio getting it ready to seal. I called June in evening. Vern at meeting. New Department head comes to Oswego this weekend. (Technology department)

We went for groceries in AM. Merrill put stain on patio. Vern called in evening. Marie still in ICU (15 days). Not much change. Nancy at hospital while he was there. Josephine Carnevale, 79 died.

Vern and June go to West virginia. I made 4 dozen cinnamon rolls for church farmer’s market tomorrow. Merrill painted patio 2nd coat of sealer. Terrible wind storm in South Jefferson and Northern Oswego Counties.

I washed clothes. Merrill mowed lawns. Cooler but sunny. Power company strung new wire to pole by Belile’s. Power off one hour. Chomsun brought us some of her cukes.

We went to church, 34 there. Steve and Kathy’s 6th anniversary.

We gave the Philadelphia Library Museum the Scripture Quilt that Mrs. Mildred Chase Beardsley gave me several years ago. Got a letter from Beulah.

Thunder storm in morning. Jim, Sue, and Ashley here for supper. Ashley so cute and busy. We enjoy her visits.

Vern’s get home today. Beautiful warm day. Jim and Jill had JCC interview at 9 AM today.

We went for groceries in AM. Very hot. High 80° to 88°. Talked with Jolie. She is working at The Double Play Bar. Jill enrolled in JCC yesterday. I called Wendell in evening. Marie improving. Still in ICU.

Vern and June’s 33rd anniversary. I made 3 dozen rolls for church farmer’s market tomorrow. Merrill cut weeds. Leo Wilson brought 8 cord of wood @ $30. Velma Crump, 78 died this morning at home.

Wilson’s brought rest of wood, 7 cord. I washed clothes Vern called. I called Lawrence. Velma had heart attack.

We went to church, 36 out.

Velma’s graveside funeral. We went with Lyla. We went to Velma’s place afterwards. Pauline went with us to Dexter. A beautiful summer day. Hurricane Emily building off Atlantic coast, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Windy. Some rain. Thunder and hot. We went to store. Sent Jim birthday card, note, and $50. Hurricane Emily moving up East coast.

Emily going out to sea. Not too much damage. We went to city. Merrill got work shoes and 2 pair of work pants. Got insulation for water meter. Merrill mowed part of lawn.

Jim’s 50th birthday. Merrill finished mowing lawn. He washed car.

Cloudy and rainy. Washed clothes. Rained hard in evening. We went for groceries in PM.

To Vern and June’s. Dan, Robin, Steve, Kathy, Kristen, Bea, Merrill, and I there. A just great day together. Vern took us to hospital to see Marie. She was much worse. Off all life supports.

Church back at 11:15, Communion. 43 out. Marion and Diane went with us. Teresa Van Epps called at 4:30 to say that Marie had died. I called June and Vern, Jim and Sue in mountains.

Jim, Sue, Ashley, Jolie, and Shawn Michael here for dinner. Kids are so cute. Vern called. Marie’s’ funeral is Friday and Saturday at Mexico. Was in Syracuse paper. Sue here for church money.

Administrative Council, 7 PM, 9 out. Colder today but sunny.
