Senior Citizen Day at Fair. Roger and Gloria left about 9 AM. My arthritis very sore all day. Merrill finished mowing lawns. Mike was over. Rev. Carol called. Hot again today.

We went for groceries. Washed bed linens. Paid water bill $120.00, for 6 months.

I sent Mrs. Cameron birthday card. 80th. Cooler. Washed clothes. Merrill cleaned floors. My legs hurt. Last day of Watertown Fair. We didn’t get to it this year. Rev. Carol goes to Aldersgate.

I went to church, 21 out. Charlie Covell preached. Merrill was feeling dizzy and didn’t go. He took me over. Celebration of 145th soldiers at Mills at 1:30. We didn’t go to it.

Cloudy and cooler. Paid bills, car insurance, $240, light bill $110, cable $16.25 and fire insurance $197. I am so sore I can hardly move.

We went to Pharmhouse and Sears. Bought new Kenmore washer at Sears, $397.00. Went to Charge Conference at church with DS Geers in charge. Voted to start working for new addition. Wrote Vern and June. Elgin called.

We have been here 13 years today. Beulah’s birthday. We froze corn, 17 packages. Much talk of two hostages release soon. John McCarthy, British 5 years and Terry Anderson, 6 years. Alice Flaherty fell into dam. Not hurt but in water 45 minutes.

Ice Cream social, 5 PM. City youth Lyrics Summer Stock sang. Good crowd and perfect weather. Made $537. Hostage McCarthy released. We got card from June. Sent Dan and Robin anniversary card and letter. Wrote Cindy at camp.

Sears delivered new washer. Came about 11 AM. I washed clothes. It work fine. I froze tomatoes. It rained about all day.

Tina and Jeff’s wedding 10:30 AM. Reception at 11 at Legion. We went. Everything very nice. Got home at 4 PM. Cloudy day but some sunshine.

We went to church 37 out. I stopped at Lancaster’s with their church directory. Jack and kids in Virginia. Wanda not feeling good. Rained off and on all day. Jim called in PM. Someone coming to repair car so they couldn’t come out. Cha was over.

Dr. Siegel, 2:30 PM. He took fluid from my knee and gave me a shot of cortisone in my knee. He started me on a brand new drug, Lodine for my arthritis. Cost $1 a capsule.

Jolie and friend Ann here in PM. Jolie’s baby due on December 23. We went for groceries. My knee doesn’t hurt today at all. Drug store called. Lozone now covered by medicare.

Got card from June Ridsdale from Virginia. Thunder storm last night. Vacation Bible School program 7:30. We didn’t go to it. Washed clothes. Merrill cleaned floors. Cactus flower came out tonight. First time in 2 years. My hips sore tonight. My knee fine.

Elgin and Carmi here for dinner. Got here about 11 AM. Left at 3. Nice visit. Carmi gave me a new $1 coin. “Loony” they call it. Shirley Cooper brought us 4 squash. A nice day but rained in evening. Got card from Vern and June from Pennsylvania. Going to Dan and Robin’s.

Steve and Kathy married 4 years. We went to drug store for Lodine and then out to Don’s. Kyle there also. Juanita and Crystal at church working on clothing exchange. Vern and June called in evening. Steve resigned his job. Working conditions bad.

Dr. Kayani, 11:15 at hospital for laser surgery on right eye. He did lower part of right eye. We went to see Gladys and Aunt Maude. Went to see Dr. Kayani at his office at 4:45. Got 2 gallon of white paint at Sears. $32.08.
