A beautiful day, like summer, 70’s. Merrill worked outside all day. Made chili and 4 bean salad. We went for groceries in AM.

Roast beef supper, $5.00. We went. Very good. I made 2 pies for it. Made 2 for here also. Cloudy day. Some rain. Girls here all week.

UMW Retreat at Mills. I didn’t go. Washed clothes. Warm. In the 60’s. Hardy house burned during night. Merrill went to store for communion bread. Got blue jacket and bras from Lane Bryant.

Jim and Walt came out and cut down trees in back year. Broke windshield on Jim’s truck. Fast time begins. We went to Sunday School 33, and church 53. Communion. Elaine and kids here in PM. Out for a walk. Mary Chamberlain called in evening. Aldine Tripp, 53 died. Rebekah’s have service tomorrow.

Dr. Novick 11;00 AM. Had tooth out. Saw Debby. Donnie got home. Renee wants divorce. Very rainy. Rebekah’s went to funeral home for Aldine Tripp.

Merrill went to Mills. Bought a 1 year old Paulon Chain saw, 16 inch for $125.00. He cut up some of tree limbs. I called insurance company. Wrote Vern’s. Still raining off and on.

Cloudy and windy. Rebekahs. Back to evening meetings. 15 out. We went to city to drug store and Hills. Saw Dilly and Diane.

We went for groceries in AM. Went to Vera’s and Ina’s for pictures for church directory. Lost Vera’s.

Sunny but cold wind. We went out to Don’s. He isn’t very good. Stopped at drug store. Merrill’s hip still very sore. Tail pipe on car broke. Rebekah’s District meeting at Antwerp. I didn’t go.

Washed clothes. We planted 3 poplar trees in back yard that Vern’s gave us. Cloudy. Cold wind. Made lemon pie. Jim called at noon.

I taught Sunday School class. Joyce in Florida. We went to Sunday School 33, and church 43. A good supper. Rev. John Nuessle guest speaker on Missions. We went. Only 12 out. Jim here with police motorcycle in PM.

I went over to Vivian’s. She repaired 2 bras for me. She gave me picture of our place in ice storm.

I got permanent at Donna’s, $20. Raining some. Sent Vern’s note.

Still rainy. We went for groceries. I washed clothes in PM. Merrill worked at trees. His back starting hurting so he had to stop.

Jill takes road test at 8:30. I got things ready for weekend.

Dr. Scanlon 10 AM for Merrill and I both. Merrill ordered new glasses. I’m to see Dr. Kayani next Friday. I called Jill. She didn’t pass driver’s test. We stopped at Ken and Esther’s. Nice visit. We got to Vern’s about 4 PM.

Shower for Kathy at her home. Bea and I went to shower with June. 15 there. Very nice. Great gifts. Vern and Merrill went to Dan’s, and Carousal Mall and out for supper.

Got home in PM. Got tax rebate check $212.00. Stopped at Don’s on way home. Juanita at church. Brenda stopped in. She had Declaimer that Bill made for her. Nice. Raining hard all day. Dan and Robin left for West Virginia to see about college.

Lyla was here in AM. Carol called to say there is an Administrative Council meeting tonight to decide about getting bus. Vote 9-6 against buying bus. 2 abstained. Got thank you from Kathy.

Great day. Merrill cut tree wood. I washed blankets. Rebekah’s, 11 out. Had Stanley party before lodge.

Merrill cut wood and painted rust spots on car. We went for groceries. Merrill went to trustee meeting in evening.

Dr. Kayani 3:00 PM. He gave me another drop to use. He doesn’t know if I can have operation yet. Go back in 2 weeks. Went to see Aunt Maude. Merrill got all new glasses, $187.00. Look good.

Another summer like day, 75°. Washed. Merrill took off storm windows. He painted spots on car.

Don and Bea Gehm’s 57th anniversary. We went to Sunday School 40, and church 57. Joyce gave us grapefruit from Florida. Stopped at Vera’s for picture. Not as warm but nice, 65°.

Kathy’s birthday. WWNY radio station 50 years old today. Wrote June and Vern. We cleaned front porch and put plants out there. Beautiful day.
