We went to church 46. Some new people. We went to see Aunt Maude in PM. Shopped at mall and Pharmhouse. Got can opener for Dan and Robin. Ate at new McDonalds for first. Raining during evening.

Still raining. Wrote Kathy and Steve. Rained about all day and in evening. Called Helen Tooley about reception for Carol.

Froze green and yellow beans. Washed dark clothes. Talked with several about August 5th. Sue was here in evening. Also Michael M., Helen T called.

Sent Don birthday card and letter.

Sunny and hot. Merrill raked hay at Horton’s. We went for groceries in AM. I called Evelyn Hall in evening. Merrill talked with Howard.

Another nice summer day. Jim called at noon to say he has been made lieutenant. Starts Wednesday, August 1st.

Beulah C, Robert, Cheryl, and Breanne C. here all day. Here for dinner and supper. A great visit. I washed clothes in morning. Sunny and hot.

We froze green beans. Merrill washed car and painted rust spots. Jim, Joel, Jill, Sue, and Stephanie Ayers here for picnic cook out. Celebrated Jim’s promotion to Lieutenant. Jim gave us nice picture of him in uniform. another great day together.

Raining most of day. 2 men here with black pick up truck looking for antiques. Suspicious acting. we went to meeting at church in evening. Philadelphia and Mills church targets for revitalization program for growth. Nancy Wayne, Alice, Merrill, and I.

Jim starts new job as lieutenant. Noon to 8 PM. Sergeants Donnie Arnold, and Ken Smith on his shift. Another hot day. Merrill mowed lawns.

We went for groceries in AM. Froze yellow beans, 6 packages. My hip bad today. Hot.

Dr. Scanlon, 1:30. My cataracts getting worse especially the left eye. Merrill took green beans to Carol. Shopped at Pharmhouse. Sunny and hot.

Washed clothes. Sunny. I got letter from Social Security about SSI. Evelyn called. Hank will play for us at Ice Cream Social.

We went to church 43, Welcome dinner after church for Carol. Nice program. About 45 present. Rained hard about all day and evening.

Cloudy, foggy. PPR met at Mills, 9 out. Merrill took me. The Mills church has installed a chair lift. Nice.

Vivian was over. Some sun today. Beulah’s 67th birthday. Merrill went to Antwerp for a telephone jack for parsonage. He couldn’t install it. Vern called in evening. Things going smooth for wedding.

Sunny. Washed dress clothes and ironed them. Jim called at supper time. Job going well. They are going Saturday.

Nice sunny day. We went for groceries. Merrill got old lawn mower going. Michael over a few times.

Sent for AARP insurance, $28.15. Got stuff ready to take to Oswego. Merrill cleaned floors. I wrapped gifts. 30 year old juice set of ours, Sunbeam can opener. (shower gift).

Dan Tryon, Robin Halbert’s wedding, 3:30 PM. Donna did my hair in the morning. A just beautiful wedding and reception. About 150 there. Jim, Joel, and Jill there. Also Ken and Esther. We spent the night at Vern’s. Got card from Andy Huntress from Aldersgate. He loves it.

Vern and June had a brunch for bridegroom and bride. They opened all their lovely gifts. Left for honeymoon in the wilds of Canada. Last 5 miles to cabin can only be reached by boat. We stopped at Don’s on way home. Had supper. Doreen, and family there.

Rainy dark day. We slept most of day.

Man called about SSI. Administrative Council changed to Thursday. Nancy came over to look at Jim’s bus. I washed clothes. Nice day. Merrill mowed lawns.

Sunny and great day. Rained in evening. Merrill put wood down cellar. Merrill went over to church so Grant could get his cap.

Administrative Council at 7. 10 out. I changed living room and dining room curtains around. We went for groceries in AM. Baked 2 banana bread and brownies. Called Jim at work.

Sent back blanks to Social Security. I washed clothes. Steve and Kathy here for supper on way home from their vacation. Alex Bay and Lake Placid.

Merrill went with trash. Hot and very humid. Wrote June and Vern. Merrill ordered 10 cords of wood from Joey @ $30.

Jim and Explorers go to Portaferry until Tuesday evening. Family picnic at Brenda and Bills. Large crowd and nice time. Mark goes to college Thursday at Oswego. Stopped at drug store. We went to church. 44 out. First service with acolytes. Very nice. Lisa Moffet and Janelle Stevens.

Called Hank Schell. Nice day but cool.

Wrote Beulah M. Sunny day. Merrill took cukes and cabbage to Horton’s. He cut brush along fence. Got reply concerning SSI application.

We went for groceries in AM. Mrs. Heln called from SSI. We can’t get it because of farm assets. Nice day. Made 2 pies from Ice Cream Social. Saudi Arabia crisis getting worse. Many troops flown in.

Ice Cream Social from 5 PM on. Hank Schell. All just great. Made $650. Merrill and I helped set up in PM. A great warm summer evening.

Sue called. We made almost $650 on social last night. Merrill mowed lawns. Had beets from garden for supper. Margaret called. 80° today.

Washed clothes. Merrill cleaned floors. A beautiful summer day. Wrote June and Vern. Sent them 30th anniversary card.

We went to church 35 out. Another great day, 85° and sunny.

Vern and June’s 30th anniversary. Raining. Vacation Bible School starts 6-8 PM. Had first corn from garden.

Merrill went for gas @ $1.39 and 2 quarts of milk $1.39. He painted back porch and front steps. Also radio stand. Called AARP about insurance. Ordered lower policy for both @$28.15.

Rebekah assembly president Betty Dennis visit at Philadelphia. I didn’t go to it. Pauline and Beulah left about 10 AM for Art’s.

We froze 13 packages of corn. Washed upstairs bedding. Merrill ordered 10 cords of wood from Tom Ellis @ $30.

We went for groceries in AM. Merrill went to Tom’s to look at wood. renewed Merrill’s insurance policy. got first church newsletter from Carol. Very nice. Got State tax notice, $164.67. Down some.

Merrill painted house. I washed clothes. Juanita, Cindy, Tristin, Benje and Kyle here on way to Gouverneur to Debby’s. Elaine Horton and kids stopped by on bikes. Jim called from work.

Jim’s 47th birthday. We went to church. Vern and June here in PM. took us out to dinner at PIne Tree Point, Alex Bay. Very nice. Called Jim at work.

Roasted Turkey. Labor Day. Sue here for church money. Telethon ended with 44 million collected. Locally it was $535,000.

Merrill finished painting on house. Ran out of paint. Sunny and warmer. got note from Robin and Dan. Power off here for 1/2 hour at supper time. Off over town all evening. Trustees meeting in evening. Merrill went.

John Kiechle engaged to be married October 6. UMW at church. Jan Liscomb guest speaker. 14 present. 4 from Evans Mills. Slides of Russia. Cloudy and rainy. School started today. Sent Jim’s card, letter and $5.00 as they didn’t get out this week.

We went for groceries in morning. Quite warm today.
