We went for groceries in AM. Merrill got a hair cut. Mother’s Day program. Celebration group from Holy Family Church sang. Marie and Shari in charge. Very nice.

We cleaned kitchen and bath. A great day 75°. Got back results of colon tests. We are both okay. Called Bob B about getting parsonage ready.

Another great day. Merrill went to Horton’s to work ground. Pulverizer broke after couple hours. Saw Chomsun and Sammy a minute picking ferns. Washed clothes. Froze asparagus and rhubarb.

Going away church dinner and program at Evans Mills for all 5 churches, for Kerr-Carpenter’s. We went with Bill and Vi. All very nice. Sina sang for Philadelphia’s part of program.

Cold and windy. Merrill mowed lawns. He caught cold. His eyes watery. Carl here in evening with broken hose.

Gloria and Robert Verbridge came about 1:00. Stayed all night. They took us out to eat at the Sartara Restaurant. Had good visit.

Gloria and Roger left about 10:30 AM. Stephanie over in PM. She got locked out of her house with no key. Cold wind.

Merrill drove tractor all day at Horton’s. Vern called in evening. He’s getting results with lawyer on farm. UMW at Doris H. I went with Joyce, 9 there.

We went for groceries in AM. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM.

We had cleaning bee at parsonage, 13 of us. Got a lot done. Helen and Charlie Covell helped. i washed clothes when I got home. Tired tonight. Party for Jim and Gloria Collin’s 25th anniversary.

We went to church 3. Collin gave us a sweet note. Jan Discomb talked on Soviet Union trip she went on. We went to Pharmhouse in PM for drugs. Got corn popper for microwave, $4.44.

Merrill went to Northern glass for door glass, $19.78. I went to Dimocks and Huntress with Aldersgate literature.

We cleaned upstairs. A great day. got graduation invitation from Mark Draper.

Carol Berry at parsonage to leave book. Merrill and I met her at parsonage. I went to Rebekah’s in PM with Ginny.

Church conference at Oswego through Saturday. We went for groceries. Merrill and I tore off paper at parsonage. We worked there in evening. 14 adults and 7 kids.

Cloudy and rainy. Also sunny. Hot and muggy in PM. In 80’s. Merrill mowed lawns. Merrill got card from Verns. Got letter from Kathy and Steve.

Our new pastor, Carolyn Berry, ordained at Oswego Conference as Deacon. I washed clothes. Merrill finished mowing back lawn. He went to landfill.

Sunny and 87°. Father’s Day. Jim, Sue, Jill and Joel here in evening. We went to church 48. Jennifer Moffet baptized.

Still hot and humid. Thunder storm. Merrill worked at Horton’s for 2 hours until the storm hit. Violent rain, wind, and hail. Lots of damage. Wrote Vern’s. City and Brownsville hit hard with storm.

Colder, cloudy. Merrill worked at Horton’s until 4 PM. Lyla called. Scott Thayer and girl friend have baby girl, Randi Lynn, 8 pounds, 8 ounces. We worked at parsonage in evening. June R called. Storm blew down trees at the farm. Tina and Lorraine Brancatella called in evening.

I washed parsonage draperies. Merrill scraped some paint at parsonage. Vi called in evening.

We went for groceries. Put draperies up at parsonage. Sized walls in bedroom and cleaned front room floor. Raining all day. Worked at parsonage in evening until 10:30.

Sunny and warm. Vern called in AM. Dan has chicken pox. FHA won’t take less money on farm. Vern and June leave for Jan and Jim’s today. Merrill went to parsonage to let copier repair man in. We worked at parsonage in PM. Finished papering almost.

Raining on and off all day. Sue, girls, Merrill and I worked at parsonage in AM. Finished papering. Washed clothes. Terrible thunderstorm in evening.

Still raining. Rev. Collin’s last Sunday with us. communion. Sad farewell. 43 there. Elgin Bowman called in PM. Over 50,000 killed in earthquake in Iran this week Thursday.

Sue, girls, Merrill and I worked at parsonage all day. Looks nice. We went to Whispering Pines at Evans Mills and ordered carpet for master bedroom. Sheri brought check for moving.

Rev. Carolyn Berry moves into Philadelphia parsonage. She and her father Charles, got to Philadelphia about 4 PM. Had lot of help to unload. Collin here to drop off parsonage key. He, Kathy, and Emma stopped at parsonage.

Rebekah’s out to eat at Fargo’s. 17 went. Delicious supper. Family style. I went with Ginny. Merrill mowed lawns. Carol called. Refrigerator isn’t working. Bill Matteson will repair it tomorrow.

Merrill worked at Horton’s. I baked rhubarb and strawberry pie. Also apricot pie, and chocolate chip cookies. Sunny day. Elaine and 4 kids here on bikes. We went to parsonage in evening to help Wayne install new washer and dryer.

Carpenter and Emma, 15 months, move to Oswego. Merrill took car to George’s to be inspected, $10.00. He went to city for hose for parsonage. We went for groceries in AM. Merrill put hose on parsonage. The District Superintendent and wife there. Rained all day.

Cloudy. Fred Bishop’s 79, funeral. Washed clothes. Merrill went to dump.

The new pastor, Carol Berry starts her new year here at 9:00 AM, 39 out. Very nice. I called Jim. Vera called. 50th anniversary party for Albert and Pearl Payne at Legion, 300 there. all very nice.

Vivian was over to bring Merrill a pair of crutches. His knee very sore. Darcy’s 20th birthday.

We went for groceries in AM. Merrill’s knee not so sore. Basil Beckstead, 72 died today. in Veteran’s Hospital Syracuse.

Vern, June, Steve, and Kathy here for dinner. Vern drove down to farm. Hot humid day. Very windy. Vern brought spare tires for our car.

Quaker Days, 6-9. Minnie Henderson, 84 died this morning. Made appointment for Merrill’s knee exam for 2:30 tomorrow.

Dr. Siegel, 10:45 AM. Blood pressure 161/82. All okay. Elgin called. Coming tomorrow. Philadelphia Medical for Merrill 2:30. He has sprained ligament in knee. Went to Seaway for prednasone pills for him. Got Merrill watch at Pharmhouse. We went to funeral home in evening. Took food to Rosie and Elmer.

Elgin and Carmi Bowman here about 11 AM. Had new car. We went to Pulaski after dinner. Stopped at Ken’s and Holly’s a few minutes. Lori is pregnant. Merrill walked without crutches today.

We went to church 38. Nice. Sunny day. Wayne Huntress here with check.

Merrill mowed lawns. I washed clothes. Sent Jolie card, and $5.00. Wrote Lori Hanson and sent back reservation for Robin and Dan’s wedding. Dr’s office called to see how Merrill is doing with his knee.

Jolie’s 19th birthday. We picked 8# strawberries at Farrs. Froze 8 packages. Washed clothes. Merrill went over town and to parsonage. Darcy and Brent here. Donnie and Reenie Hanson have baby girl, Kayleigh Diseree, 6 pounds, 9 ounces, born today.

Merrill took car to George’s for oil change, $23.00. I washed work clothes. Merrill finished taking medicine. Merrill burned brush pile. I called Jim in evening.

We went for groceries in AM. Ice Cream Strawberry Festival at Evans Mills, about 90-100 there. Nice. We went at 5 and got home at 7:30. Debby here in AM. Merrill sharpened the lawn mower blades. I wrote Vern’s. Sent Reader’s Digest orders and canceled book club. Donnie and Reenie had baby girl, July 10.

Friday the 13th. I got permanent at Donna’s in PM, $20.00. Darcy has a yard sale going this weekend.

Cloudy and cool. Washed clothes. Merrill cleaned floors. Got stuff ready for picnic tomorrow. Jim called in evening. Gary Paster, 43 died tonight of massive heart attack playing ball.

Don and Juanita’s 40th anniversary. Donnie and Reenie first anniversary. We went to church. Haggerty Reunion at Wescotts Beach. 29 present. Pauline and family didn’t come. we all got soaked in the rain. We stopped at Jim’s on way home. Ken and Esther also. Met Esther for first time. Nice.

Lazy day. Both tired. Tom Dingman, 31 killed by train at Philadelphia yesterday morning. Rained some.

Darcy and Brent fly back to Florida. We went to city. got dress (dark rose) for Dan’s wedding, $85.00. We went to Administrative Council meeting in evening. Good meeting. Gary Pastor’s funeral. Jim was pall bearer.

Windy and hot and humid. I took crutches home to Vivian. Tom Dingman’s, 31 funeral. Got letter from Beulah Macklin.
